Thanks Guys, we couldn't keep them off the line. I caught most mine on #2 Swedish pimple gen crush tipped with spikes. We only caught 2 pickerl which was a rare occurrence normally they beat the perch and crappie to the bait. I did manage a couple small bass. This was one of the first times I caught more jigging than on tipups.

Well I stand corrected then.

Had trouble getting Gander Mountain to honor a sale price

I don't see how it would any different than a price match. -
Which down speed & temp system do you recommend?

If you pick up your rigger ball on the FF and also mark a fish with both marks at the same depth then I would have to say they are the same depth. I can pick up my 16lbs. torpedos in 140 FOW with my FF and have marked fish at the same depth and some fish above them running 2.5 mph at the ball. Granted the rigger counter and depth finder don't agree on depth but they are within 10'. 10' in my experience won't make that much of if a fish will hit. I swear I have hit them in the head with my rigger ball and they still won't take the bait. -
Home equity is where it is at. You can deduct that from your taxes where other loans you cannot. I know a lot of people that buy cars on home equity if the interest rates are good enough because of the tax deduction.

Had trouble getting Gander Mountain to honor a sale price

Same thing happened to me at Field and Stream. I went in to buy one of those Eskimo tripod ice fishing chairs (great chair for a hub shanty). It was marked 20% off online but is not an online only sale. I asked before I showed up if there was any in stock and there were 2 and if they would honor the online price. They said no problem, I get there and they tell me no. Well I said "How is it that your mother store (dicks sporting goods) will honor a price online but you won't. There is something wrong here can I talk to your manager?" She then walked herself over to the computer and looked it up. Came over and told me "it's an online sale but I will do it for you this one time." What a crock even more reason I will be shopping at bass pro shops or cabelas. Both of those companies will honor it no questions asked. -
I use braid for both. The larger diameter braid isn't AS effected by the fleas it still collects some but not enough for me to worry about. Eventually I will replace the braid with wire but when I first started out the braid was cheaper and more user friendly.

Too bad they didn't auction off their tools and such. I'm sure someone would have picked up where they left off. They were a top notch company and great customer service. I really liked their units compared to others.

I was looking at the savage 22mag .410 but really want a multi shot .410

For walleye I have ran the natural lead silver look and the black either way it didn't effect my catch rate. You will run long enough leaders that it shouldn't influence the fish's decision. Black weights are more easily seen in muddy/dirty water vs florescent/bright colors. So if you want it to act as an attractor go with the chrome.

I would like both but the wife is already hounding me about money after buying another pistol. I think the .410 has a little more weight because as a kid I can remember chasing bushytails with a single shot .410 of my grandpas and had a blast. I think I might be getting that .410 but that .17 is a really close 2nd. I thought about the semi .17 but afraid I would blow thru the ammo too quick but having that quick follow up shot would be nice.

Yeah something like a wire hair. Either way they were freaking fast. I think they are Scottish Deer Hound similar to the greyhound. https://www.google.com/search?safe=strict&espv=2&q=scottish+deerhound&oq=scottish+&gs_l=serp.1.1.0i67l5j0j0i131j0l3.2769.4523.0.6463.9.9.0.0.0.0.111.724.8j1.9.0..3..0...1.1.64.serp..0.9.713.0x0KRp1M9oo

Subscribed! I am looking into 2 guns right now the .17hmr/.17wsm and .410 pump. I can't decide which I would rather have. Both would fill a certain niche but it is a tough decision. I have heard nothing but great things about the Marlin XT same for the Savage. The pump is looking like an remington 870. Ammo for both is a wash the .17 would be great for squirrel and chucks but I have a .22 that does great for both of those but that .410 would be a great rabbit, squirrel, chuck gun too. Ahhhh! decisions decisions.

Does it have 2 or 1 cutting blades? When was the last time they were sharpened/changed?

Nice! I hope the ice stays with these warmer temps coming this week.

My buddy and I made it out away from our wives for a few hours (7 total) to get the stink blown off. We were targeting crappie but ended up with 40 keeper perch (8" or larger). Ice was around 5" thick and I put probably 50 fish the ice using my flasher. How did I ever fish without it. I can attest that it will definitely put more fish the ice. The big perch was 12.25".

I was doing the online thing. I am hoping the 2nd part is more informative. One thing I found a little concerning when he made the statement "If this works out in this area we would like to open it up into more WMU's." The IT part I am not sure what IT is.

Good deal they should have good ice for the derby this weekend and next. I won't be making it up there until next weekend hopefully, maybe I will hold off until the pro/am is done. I don't like to be crowded.

haha I just used that synthetic decking you can get from lowes or homedepot. My cleats were originally backed with marine plywood so I figured this was a little bit of an upgrade from the plywood. Either way I haven't pulled a cleat off or downriggers. The downriggers are backed with 16" piece.
