  1. Unfortunately the wind has been a blowing but if it comes out of the south or anywhere out of the east we might be good if she is locked up.
  2. Or if you want to buy my short shaft parts that would work too. All the parts in the lower and mid sections are the same. When you switch to short shaft you take out the gear case extension, water pick up extension, put in the shorter drive shaft and shift shaft. Mine is a 1981 Johnson 7.5hp.
  3. If you're willing to trade I have the short shaft parts I would be willing to trade for the long shaft parts.
  4. I push my 23' proline with the Johnson version of this motor. It is close to full throttle going into the 6'-8' waves but sips fuel on those lighter chop days. It's actually an 8hp with 7.5 badges. Not that the .5hp makes that much of a difference.
  5. Any word guys? I looked at the hardware store and the bay is locked up but no fishable ice as of the 7th.
  6. If you like the sub troll there is always depth raider.
  7. It is made by torpedodivers.com here is a link to it.https://www.torpedodivers.com/scart/product_details.asp?ItemNum=ZP0010
  8. Sub troll for me too, I use that copper core rigger wire and no issues.
  9. They are junk I'll take them off your hands for $5 a piece.... But in all seriousness they run great for the fraction of a price those off shore boards and still have the adjustable lead weight.

    Any ice

It should be starting to freeze up I went out to one of our local lakes and it was half frozen definitely smaller than Seneca but fishable.
  11. My next gun(s) are either CZ or another Tikka T3. My CZ american triple duece is a great rifle shoots straight with any ammo. Remington used to be a good name. My 870, 7600 Gamemaster (from the 60s), and wifes 770 are all great guns but the new ones are junk. My dad bought the VTR in .308 and is an accurate gun but still a 700, wonder if it is effected like the ones in the article. I think they outsourced the actions to be made somewhere else/re-designed and it bit them in the butt by cutting corners. Lots of people are jumping off the Remington ship myself included.
  12. Caught them on both, not enough to say one is better than the other. Some days it is the UV other days it's not.
  13. What type of rigger? Some electric downriggers you can change to braided line instead of the wire. If you did it to 1 rigger and get more hits on the braid rigger then you know your problem otherwise it would be tough to know whether it is your boat/presentation/actual depth of rigger. Way too many variables. Your buddy could have been on the outer edge of a baitfish pod and the fish were hitting his spread because he was closer and completely ignoring your spread because you were too far out. Like I said lots of variables. Also don't use last year as a guideline for anything it was a really tough year on Lake O.
  14. Where abouts are you looking, I am also looking for a course.
  15. I made my own with some parts from tractor supply and have worked for 3 seasons without issues.Cabelas had their advanced angler boards with strike kit for $24.99 if you're looking for boards and strike kit. I have ran those boards Cabelas for 4 years and they run great.
  16. I do have to say I wouldn't want to be on a smaller boat on those rougher days. No doubt I am going to put some money aside to do it even if it is only a few of us. Look at it this way Less people for a cut.
  17. Yeah but the boat only gets 2mpg on its best day, and she is an older tired boat so I wouldn't want to chance it.
  18. Original to the Bay Rats brand or the original Storm molds?
  19. Yeah I might be able to fish the Sodus Pro/Am this year, at least I'm hoping. Bringing the boat 124 miles to fish is tough business when it is as big as she is, and the 10 mpg I get when towing her.
  20. The wobble on these are nice and wide perfect for spring Eyes and Northerns.
  21. That 2nd one looks like it came from a storm mold. If they have the storm molds the walleye guys will be going nuts!
  22. That is some crappy news. I knew they were getting the wind but was hoping it was going to be more NW. Whacking a stump/log with your auger will ruin a weekend of fishing that is for sure.
  23. I run the 8'-6" medium action GLT rods for 5 seasons now for salmon, trout and walleye. They are a little overkill for walleye but they work. Great rod for the money. If I was a little more dedicated/fished more I would invest into the diamond rods but as a rec. fisherman I don't need them.
  24. This sounds similar to how they do the 333 on lake Michigan.
