  1. Not sure if this would work for you but what about one of those flower box holders for a deck railing? Straighten it out and maybe utilize a L style anchor bolt and just insert the L shaped end under the edge of the gunnel and tighten a butterfly thumb nut to fasten. http://www.amazon.com/MINTCRAFT-GB0043-Flower-Bracket-2-Pack/dp/B003MZY4CU

    SLR 1 for 1

I use the big game 20lbs. keeps the fleas off when they start to get bad.
  3. Good luck in BRB I heard it has been on fire. Charter guys have been doing really well on the eyes the last couple of weeks. I don't Bass fish until July but yeah they get hit hard for the $1000 grand prize tourney next weekend. Wish they would get rid of that catch and release bass up there, they are finally starting to make a come back.
  4. Yup this ^. I had the same issue with my outboard new plugs were the trick.
  5. I think you might have that backwards. I/O have lower compression basically a truck motor making hp at low rpms where 2 strokes are high compression needing higher octane to eliminate detonation or spark knock. Sent from my thinking chair...
  6. If you want get yourself a couple okuma copper rods. They are reasonably priced and I have never had an issue with mine. I started running my copper okuma rods as dipsy rods because they were a lot stiffer than my okuma downrigger rods.
  7. if you went with 10w-40 diesel oil it has the additives and also allows for good lubrication at start-up.
  8. It really depends on the time of year you will be fishing. Longer copper for later in the season and shorter for early.
  9. I have the bay star and run a Raymarine auto pilot ev 100. In your case you would need a ev 200 because of the size of the hydraulic ram but yes it is compatible. Sent from my thinking chair...
  10. Yes you can put it on them I have ran 30# for 3 seasons without any issues.
  11. Can't go wrong with a hydraulic seastar system from teleflex. Gives you the ability to add an auto pilot later and not have to worry about a cable seizing up.
  12. deep divers in long and extra long. Sent from my thinking chair...
  13. You and me both, I have caught more this year on the renoskys than any other bait. My father in law went into the barn and took my 2 rods with them on it. He bought 3 more renoskys for himself after using mine. Once in a while you get a leaky one just call them, same goes for any other bait. If you guys want you can send me a PM and I'll pay the shipping for them. The mirror image produces the most fish for me.
  14. Joel I'll be up this weekend, give me a call or text. I'm hoping to get out in the early morning and at night.
  15. Really? I didn't think it would.
  16. On a stacker release you have a swivel like snap then 2 pinch pads. You would attach the swivel like clip to the downrigger cable then attach 1 pinch pad to the downrigger cable this is to keep the cheater from moving up or down the mainline. Then you will attach the 2nd pinch pad to the cheater line not the swivel of the cheater. Then once a fish hits it will pull the cheater out of the release then slide down the mainline to the downrigger release and pop that release and slide down the mainline the rest of the way to the lure. Below is a photo of a stacker style release.
  17. The sliding cheater does just that it moves up and down but once it hits the bow in the line furthest from the downrigger cable it stops so you can figure it's about halfway down the vertical distance. Here i attached a very simple looking photo. It isn't very pretty but gets the point across.
  18. You can have fixed or sliding cheaters. Fixed meaning they are fastened to you fishing line a certain distance above the lower bait. A sliding cheater is simply hooked onto the fishing line and moves down until the bow in your line. Stacked lines refer to multiple poles on the same downrigger almost like a fixed cheater but on another pole instead of being fastened to your main line. In this situation the line of the 2nd pole would be fastened at a set distance above your line of 1st pole. Cheaters are an easy way to get more hooks in the water while tournament fishing without adding more poles resulting in disqualification.
  19. I have had a hard time keeping lakers off them at times. Last year I was targeting kings, but caught 4 lakers in 20 minutes raised the dipsys and riggers up 30 ' and they were still hammering them. Then other days you can't them to bite. But yes they produce, maybe not as good as cowbells but they catch lakers.
  20. No crimps for me, fish doctor wire line knot for mine. 3 seasons no issues runnning 16lbs. torpedos.
  21. Look like re-paints to me.
  22. It's NESSY!
  23. You guys are running huge bags compared to me. I have a 23' proline with 150hp outboard and I only run (2) 20" bags. I can get down to .7 with 2 bags on a calm day at idle. My boat tops out at 37mph and trolling at idle is generally at 2.7mph slowest
  24. I run bags once in a while when I can't get down in speed when going with the waves. 2 Bags are a must! I run some no name brand I got really cheap, no issues but I don't use them religiously.
  25. Just have to set the date for within season!
