I don't have a captains license but do have a nasty walleye addiction that eats up more of my time. Unfortunately I can catch walleye way better than salmon and trout. I think it doesn't matter which you fish but should be able to fish the AM division. I mean there are always exclusions to a rule.
Who had the merc? Thought you ran yammies. Nice looking eyes they are finally starting to turn on. I only ended up fishing after I got my son down for bed and in the 4-5 hours we fished all weekend we managed 9 fish. Not to shabby if you ask me, we fished 3 nights from 8:30pm to 10:00pm all night bite fish. Like you said they came on everything but my bay rat took the most hits out of the weekend.
There is a good nite bite as well I managed 3 in 45 minutes 2 nights in a row from set up at 8:45 pulled lines at 10:00. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to get out in the mornings or during the day. I have heard some good reports from BRB.
I would rather not have mine on the screen. If you want you could angle the transducer but it wouldn't give good depth readings of fish, bottom, or your balls if you do that, but you could see them.
Had it happen on my outboard tell-tale. I thought my motor was screwed after 2 impeller replacements then my dad said to stuff some wire up there and plop out it came.
Really? I didnt know that. Man I love my beckman with an added release to hold the net out of the way. That thing works great.

Yup sounds like a lean condition but it could also be caused by excess fuel getting burned off. Does it have a mixture adjustment? You might be a little too rich then when she leans out to correct mixture you get more rpm. I had this happen on a weed whacker and chainsaw.
If you whack the throttle before the RPM rises is it slow to gain rpm or does the rpm rise up fast?
With 8 lbs. weights don't expect to get down 100' I would run minimum 10 lbs. I would invest in 2 dipsy rods you won't regret it. They just plain catch fish
3 spin doctors and flies:
Hammer time spin dr. with glow hammer fly
NBK spin dr. and crazy b*tch fly
mountain dew glow crush and Pro/Am UV
Run 2 of these on 2 dipsy setups one on each side of your boat.
3 spoons all standard size:
NBK
Green Dolphin
Blue Dolphin
Run 1 on each rigger and another on the leadcore
I have a Beckman had it for 3 seasons and not 1 issue. Giant hoop, telescopic handle, and super sturdy. I wouldn't trade the net for any other brand. It's in the picture on the left in my signature.
I have found with the big boards it is better to put the line further into the release causing the fish to hook itself before the line is pulled from the release.
Is the lowrance set to magnetic north or true north? Make sure it is set to magnetic. I have the acu-100 and the Raymarine a68 and it seems to take me right to the waypoint.
So you have pins for the cross bar or the supports? I have pins that are supposed to be on the supports but not the cross bar.

Yeah last year was a circus on my boat. Triples on almost every trip. I'll be up this coming weekend. I doubt it's already over just not ideal conditions. Water still seems really cold for it to drop that fast.
