  1. I think you might mean 50 series/class? Last I knew okuma only made 15's 20's 30's 45's and 55's. I know you can get them cheaper than that $229 buy a pre rigged okuma 55 from atommik and a okuma copper rod and you will have $200 tops. http://www.fishusa.com/product/Okuma-Classic-Pro-GLT-Trolling-Rods?utm_source=google_ps&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_ps&gclid=Cj0KEQjwmLipBRC59O_EqJ_E0asBEiQATYdNh5QqTU-xmadGwp36ZkLdpMTNqAoGphHH0H-PplH9CqwaAoK28P8HAQ http://www.fishusa.com/product/Okuma-Convector-Levelwind-Reels---Prespooled-Copper-Line http://www.atommiktrollingflies.com/okuma.htm
  2. Out of the weather. I know they are waterproof but sometimes there are defects not anticipated leading to failure down the road when you are most going to need it.
  3. Buy these and rig it so you have a set per side. Singles are a pain I remember using an old mahogany set when I went with my dad.
  4. X3 but i do have the antenna upgrade. and I use the so-called "Junk" downrigger cable that has the copper core, stainless sheath. Going to be 4 seasons on it. Make sure you put some on the threads too. 12lbs? I use the troutman 16 pounders on mine!
  5. Get it on video then it can't be disputed! Could be worth another $500 right?
  6. These actually remind me of the pre Rapala storm molds. Reef runners are more of a summer lure for me, the curved body makes the wiggle tighter. I have been more productive with stick baits that have a wider wobble. Sent from my thinking chair...
  7. You could also try Martin's in mud bay/cape Vincent area. Sent from my thinking chair...
  8. A little advice make sure to attach your boat too the hoist or at least to the dock next to it with a chain or cable. I wouldn't be concerned with someone stealing but more about it coming off and floating away. A few years back we had an awful storm surge and lake level came up 3 feet during the night many people lost jet skis and boats. My motor on my rail system was submerged and my boat would've floated off if not secured. Sent from my thinking chair...
  9. I think that is what I might be doing. I am trying to find a waterproof in-line toggle. You know a good place to find a couple? I have deck lights I already have wired that I was going to run the spreaders off. I want to have the ability to shut off spreaders to keep from drawing a lot of bugs.
  10. Anyone with great lakes planers and the lights, how did they run the wiring for the lights? I have mounts and lights but was unsure how they were wired so I don't have water intrusion into electrical connections.
  11. Many of them used remote throttle (another set of controls) or just used main motor with trolling bags.
  12. I talked to the owner of Controll King a while ago and he said you would need a much larger servo in order to work with the throttle and timing. The problem lies with the timing and carb throttle. On 2 strokes the throttle linkage advances the timing along with opening the carb so it takes a lot more force.
  13. Give this guy a call see if he can do it or someone that he could recommend. Ask for Dave. True Tech Machine Inc. 1506 Ressue Rd Newark, NY 14513 (315) 331-8131

    47 lb walleye?

  15. There were some nice eyes in there. Can't wait to hook into some this spring! FISH ON!
  16. If I had to choose one or the other it would be a dipsy setup first. They just produce fish. I'm not saying coppers don't but dipsys have produced more than any other setup on my boat. I use okuma 30 series without any backing, straight 1000' onto the reel.
  17. Sam's Club usually has 2-stroke synthetic blend Pennzoil marine for $12/gallon during the summer. That is usually the stuff I buy for my boat I have run it in my motor since I have owned it and never had an issue. Knock on wood! I run the super tech in our jetski and it seems to do a nice job.
  18. Us too, only had 1 tangle with a juvenile.
  19. Great deal on a great net, I have one and is very stout and very large hoop and net.
  20. Another good one, can't wait to scratch the itch!
  21. Check your kill switch, My dads sun rotted and looked like it was being pressed but was just attached and the little button was sticking out. Never mind it will still crank if the kill switch is bad.
  22. Storm Smithwick Rapala Renosky They all catch fish just have to be in the right area, depth, and right weather conditions.
  23. Why not mount it on the tab? just have it set so when the trim tab is all the way up or down the transducer sits flat. Personally I would do it with the tab all the way down so if I wanted to get a picture while planing I could. Or you could mount the tabs in a little and leave the transducer closer to the side of the boat.
  24. My dog walks around with it and snarls at our other dog when he takes it. They feel like it is a prized possesion in my house. Whats wrong with using them for decoration? Watching snoX with my little guy. The wife took the candid picture. Don't worry they won't come off even with persuasion. If I wasn't afraid of breaking them I would hang from them. Best was when I posted on my facebook all the people telling me how he will be afraid of them. The whole time we change him is looks up at the heads and starts laughing, smiling and coo-ing. Gotta bring them up right!
  25. It sucks they only make it up to 15 lbs.
