  1. Cant the same concept be achieved by moving the eye higher rather than trying to bend the eye? Sent from my thinking car!
  2. How tall are those? Sent from my thinking car!
  3. I thought about the amish boards or the great lakes planers boards either set look great and from what everyone says run great too.
  4. Ok I will raise it up a couple inches, and keep experimenting with the distance forward and back.
  5. Right now the line doesn't touch the water except near the board. So first thing Ill change is the board orientation to correct the diving, then the eye bolt. Now when it comes to the eye bolt is higher on the board better or towards the middle?
  6. I know but they pull so much harder that way.
  7. I don't have a photo of the board plowing/pulling sideways behind the boat. But basically the board starts to rock clockwise and counter clockwise to the tow line then want to dive. I am thinking that in my design if ran normally the tow line point is too low. Tough to see but here is one more.
  8. Here is a photo of it running. Yes I know they are upside down but they seem to pull better this way. This is the only other photo I have. The board in the front is the one the eye bolt is connected to as you can see if ran normally the 3 holes next to each other are where I would connect the tow line. I would like to get these boards to run in their normal way, I think they might be diving because the tip is inverted.
  9. So I'm planning on using my big boards this year to pull a couple a copper rigs. I am currently using the homemade boards with some lead across the bottom to keep them from flipping. They have only flipped twice and was because of operator error. Anyway last season while pulling 6 deep diving cranks per a side at 2mph my boards would stop moving forward and pull sideways this caused one to dive and flip. Anyone have any idea what could cause this to happen? I was thinking it might have the eye too far towards the rear? I used the plans to make these under the homemade mast and boards. Thanks, Chas Sent from my thinking car!
  10. I literally just laughed out loud at this!
  11. I have a set of great lakes planers 4 rod trees, I would highly recommend them. They are built like tanks, if they break they will be ripping off part of the boat. The entire tree rotates or each rod holder individually, they are very versatile and the best part is you can expand your trees to a rocket launcher setup later on.
  12. I know how it feels I live just south of corning and HVS is a little of a drive for me too. Have you been over for the pre-season fishing sale?
  13. I like to shop locally and try most of the time, but it is tough when most won't meet prices or sales. Im not asking the local guy to cut prices on everything as they need to make a living too. I would rather buy it online than ask a guy to take money out of his pocket to give me that price cut specially if it is an item that sells well. Sent from my thinking car!
  14. No, no, no, no you want a substantial rod holder. I almost lost an entire pole because my buddy put it in a plastic rod holder. I took them off the boat and just junked them. Sent from my thinking car!
  15. I have been running the depthmaster rods for a few seasons but have had the blank un-twist and split. They have some serious bend, but seem to fail more often for me. I started to replace with Okuma DR rods 8'-6" and will eventually have some nicer walleye rods but for now these work.
  16. Nice! I didn't see that before. Sent from my thinking chair...
  17. I have a set of trees and wouldn't trade then for anything. They get the rods up and out of the way and work great for planer boards inline or big. Sent from my thinking chair...
  18. O how I miss coleman's. Sent from my thinking chair...
  19. Okuma on my boat. Sent from my thinking chair...
  20. I like your releases but the thing I would stay away from is the clip that has the other half of the clothes pin exposed for line to wrap behind. Sent from my thinking chair...
  21. You can go on the snowmobile association website and pay $25 for a voucher. Then you need to register thru the DMV for the $45. You end up paying $70 instead of $100. But in a nutshell yes you need a registration sticker on the sled even if only ice fishing. Same goes for an atv, it must be registered to use for ice fishing. Sent from my thinking car!
  22. I bought mine from anchor express, great people to work with. They also had it back ordered and I got mine in 1 week. Sent from my thinking chair...
  23. You should add an info section to your website and post up your videos. Sent from my thinking car!
  24. Thats crazy, I hope it doesnt im sure the salmon will take a beating if it does. Sent from my thinking car!
  25. The off shore clips are nice but pricey. I made my own using aligator clips and shrink tube. You could also try the clipper planer board releases. They are cheaper and a lot of guys use them. Sent from my thinking car!
