My grandfather also shoots rifled slugs thru his rifled barrel and seem to be accurate. It might be worth a try. I shoot the Hornady SST and they fly great in my wifes 1187 also 20 ga.

If it were me I would be removing the rear cup holders and mounting a 36" track. I would start it about 6" behind the cup holder hole. This would allow you to move them forward if fishing by yourself and be with arms reach or slightly back to clear the fish fighting area with more than 2 guys. I'm not a big fan of boards on smaller boats it hinders the places you can put downriggers. My dad has this setup on a older starcraft and it works great but he does not have a rear fishing platform like you. I would hate to have something that hindered my fishing area like that. I like being able to pull my riggers off and drift a little or completely change up and go fishing for a different species. I am a multi-species fisherman and some days I will start out salmon/trout and end up fishing walleye later on or hit some shoals for bass. That would be hard to do on your boat with a board mounted across the back then trying to store it and tripping over it on the floor of the boat.... I believe they also make track mounted cup holders if you really need them.

Well yesterday morning I sat on my buddys set and saw 10 deer 1 of which was a nicer buck (I am thinking it was this guy) but couldnt really tell with the thick fog and still being kind of dark. So after sitting there for 4 hours and having all 10 deer walk 70+yards away I was pretty disappointed. I have hunted this property for 7 years only during early season before oct 1. The owners shoot almost everything big or small so I have never seen a deer over 80 inches and bigger than a 14inch spread. Over those past 7 years I have always wanted to hang a stand in this set of willows. I hung one that morning at 11am tucked back into this one willow at the end of a hedgerow. This stand is hardly worthy of the name stand being only 6 feet off the ground but anywayi sat there from 3pm and only saw 2 bucks. After seeing next to nothing and thinking my stand location was lousy started packing up. I was sitting on 5 gallon pail while waiting so as you can imagine when packing up and my buckles bouncing against the side was making a little racket. As I was packing up I heard something coming thru the tall golden rod. I turned to look and here come 3 bucks right to my stand. I slowly grabbed my bow and was just about to pull and one spotted me but took no interest. So just as I was about to shoot the first one walking into my shooting lane I noticed the other one was bigger rack and body wise and decided to take the bigger one instead. Well unfortunately the only shot I had was straight on so I took it and put my broad-head right into his neck and into its spine. No tracking needed. As he was lying there I started to size him up and realized he was a lot bigger than I first thought. Scored 115-7/8" with inside spread of 17 and 19-1/2 outside spread. Sent from my thinking car!

Any photos of them at night? What is the furtherest you can see with them. I wouldn't be using these everyday just for early morning fishing and a little late night walleye trolling.

So I now have a bimini for my boat. It works great, but now I am wishing it was a hard top seeing as I can't mount any spreader lights easily. This got me to thinking and I purchased a set of clamp on light holders to affix lights to the bimini poles. I was looking at different brand lights along with styles and beam angles, lumens, ect and have no idea what to get. I would like to purchase a light that doesn't weigh a whole lot but still durable. I was looking at superbrightleds.com at their 10w mini aux led light. It comes in several different beam angles and I'm unsure which would work best as a dual purpose spreader, spotlight. I was thinking 60* is an all around good beam but thought if I went with 30* I could use it to spotlight my boards and as a spreader. Here is a link to the light. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/marine-lights/10w-mini-aux,-2-modular-led-off-road-work-light/1699/#/tab/Specifications Thanks for the help, Chas

Downrigger Weights ?
Chas0218 replied to overthelimit's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
10lbs herbie weights aren't horrible but I recently changed to the 16lbs. torpedo style and they have next to no blowback. great weights but at a hefty price. -
Have you changed off the treble? They come with a larger treble.

Or just fish with me! haha All joking aside Quinte would be your best bet right now.

No they are supposed to flutter/wobble. If they are spinning then you are bringing them in too fast. I have caught numerous browns on them in the fall and spring casting off the shores at SUNY Oswego.

Everyone I know hates wildgame innovations as well as the lower end cuddebacks (less than $200). I have had good luck with the wildgames innovations cameras that everyone doesn't like. My father has actually gone thru a few of the lower end $40 ones but mine have been great for 3 seasons now. I had a friend that has had moultries and seemed to like the older ones but the new ones he said suck. I guess it all depends, I have never heard anything bad about stealth cam and bushnell trophy cams. I have an older stealth cam and other than going thru a set of C batteries every 500-800 pictures it isn't bad.

He is saying that the majority of the stress is on the leader that goes from the dipsy to the Flasher/Spin Dr. I had to read it a couple times to figure it out as well. Nothing wrong with the way he typed it just reading it fast you could think he was running mono between the diver and wire.

Henderson to Mexico
Chas0218 replied to Beyond Upstate's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Any word if the fish are still in the trench? I would like to make a trip up this weekend but wanted to know if the kings are still being caught. With the hard south blow I doubt I would be able to fish out of stony. -
Running main engine what do you do with the kicker?
Chas0218 replied to CaptSpike's topic in This Old Boat
What kind of kicker? My tiller handle can lay flat back on itself. My kicker prop just barely sits in the water when not on plane, as soon as I jump her up on plane the lower unit of the kicker is out of the water. Also in a heavy surf with the bow coming up the motors lower unit will "float" on the wake coming off the back of the boat. Try to get her off the back of the boat more so you can prop her up higher. Try one of these maybe? http://www.marinetechproducts.com/pages/550028/ -

I too am looking forward to hitting the woods. I hope I can post up some nicer photos this coming weekend when I pull my cameras for the first time. The area I hunt has tons of acrons on the ground so it should be a great year. On a side note would it be illegal to rake up a pile of acorns in front of my camera to get some still photos? I mean they are from the same forest not being transported or hunted over just simply for photos?
