I run a Johnson with a VRO still and never had an issue, knock on wood. I will never own anything but a brp/Evinrude/Johnson. Every motor has their issues. My father in law has a Honda that is supposedly be bullet proof but he keeps getting a mystery check engine light. Yamaha is heavy and make no power with ****ty timing belts. Every motor has pros and cons but I have seen less Evinrude products in the shop than other brands. It sounds like the marina is doing everything they can short off using the boat for you and finding the problems before you. Sent from my thinking chair...

Ya not at all. You just need to pick your days. Bright sunny calm days are probably the worst possible walleye conditions. There was a nice "walleye chop" of 2 footers. With little ripples. Sent from my thinking chair...

Not a darn thing. My buddy and I figured there would have something but every fish didn't have a single thing in there belly. Sent from my thinking chair...

All during the day, it was overcast and rained a few times. The time we were catching them was 10a.m. to 3p.m. Sent from my thinking chair...

Managed a few walleye today. We were fishing in the St. Lawrence river. Weather was Crap but still got a few. Fish weighed 11, 10, 9, 9, 7, & 6 lbs. Great day! Sent from my thinking chair...

Most of the time if you have milky colored lower unit fluid is because of fishing line around the prop or bad o ring on the screws. If you can't get it fixed before your trip, go buy a gallon of 80-90 gear lube/oil and change it before you go on your trip and then again during your trip. If you are using it a lot during the trip change it often. I have ran a lower unit with milky oil because prop shaft seal being bad and just changed it often until I could get her fixed. I was checked twice this year 1 week apart from the first. First time they boarded me second time was in 4 footers and I just had to hold up the safety gear. I haven't ever needed to pull lines they just get nervous when I leave the wheel and help hold their boat as they climb on board. The one guy was yelling "stay on the wheel, stay on the wheel!" I told I had autopilot and he looked baffled. Sent from my thinking chair...

Trench/Stony 8/8

It was a nice day till about 2 when the 3 footers came in. It was a"fun" ride back. The kid was all excited texting his buddies the photos. He is a pretty sharp kid and caught on quick he didn't like bringing up the manual riggers but he got to reel the fish in so he got the liberty of reeling up the 16 pounders. Haha He was also complaining a little when the 240 dipsy got whacked and the 17 lbs laker on the other end decided to head to Canada, "400' is a long ways." I didn't make him do them all, he was a little impressed when I reeled them up effortlessly. Sent from my thinking chair... -
Caught 2 Skippy kings over 120 fow down 60. Decided to work in a little shallower and managed 3 Lakers two of the Lakers were over 17 other was 10. All Lakers came on mnt. Dew glow crush and attomik hammer fly. The kings came on a silver streak blue dolphin. This was the kids first time trolling lake Ontario and catching a fish over 10lbs. Ya I saw the article a few days ago about it being for shark week. I was going to start chumming and hope for the big guy! haha -
I wish they would have separated the flouro and mono into different charts. I know some/most monos are stronger than flouro just wish there was a distinction as to which was which for all the lines listed. Also like you I could careless as to the diameter to strength ratio I would be more concerned with actual knot strength for each. I use 30lbs. power pro for main line then 8'-10' 12lbs. red label seaguar. It has been working great but the fleas are collecting a little on the 12lbs. leader. I pull one side at a time after a couple passes.

These are considered "cool white" which are a blue tint. They only had red and these cool white. Everything on my boat is white and blue and I'm a little OCD so they had to be blue or white. I too thought about the red and navigational hazards that could be caused. Sent from my thinking chair...

That's weekday I'm hoping. I would really like to get up on the river early some morning. We found ourselves fishing late into the evening with next to no light except our rear nav light and cell phones. Sent from my thinking chair...

So I decided to install some lights on the old boat I installed a total of 8 deck lights. 6 of the lights are on the deck and two shoot out the back towards the water for netting fish. The photos I took don't do it justice for the amount of light they put off. There won't be any problem seeing the deck out anything around it. Now I just need to get a couple spotlights for the planer board and rigging. This shows the location for the 6 facing the deck. Night view of the deck. And the 2 facing towards the back.
