    I have been out on the east end and between the tree pollen and fleas my lures are getting dirty. Fleas were barely sticking but were clumped up on my knots and a little on the 12lbs. flouro leader. I was running 30lbs. PP braid on my main-line and nothing was sticking to it yet.

    When you only fish the East end of the lake you fish majority east winds because good west winds will produce good 6 footers. And that means you generally catch more fish on an east wind.

    If I try to pull mine that fast they will rip my mast clean off the boat. I can effectively pull my boards up to 3.5mph with my kicker then my big motor has to be started. My little trolling motor going into a 4' chop with 4 downriggers, 4 dipsys, and the big boards can barely push the boat 3.5 mph let alone 4mph or 5mph. I also don't have a need to troll that fast. You wouldn't believe the amount of resistance all that gear makes in the water.

    My boards pull hard, they have been known to break some of the higher quality planer board line.

    I have a 03 Chevy Silverado that is rated to tow 7800 lbs and it does. I pull our camper which is just shy of 7000 loaded. You know it's there but still does it without hiccups. I was coming down Watkins Glen hill when the brake controller gave out and the truck was still able to stop. Not many trucks can do that. Sent from my thinking chair...

    I'm with you Tim, only difference between my boards and the Amish are the Amish are collapsible and synthetic. You can buy otter boats but why there are better products out there. Unless it's about the name. I know a lot of guys that have to own all name brand stuff and can't have anything that isn't made by one of the big manufacturers. Sent from my thinking chair...

    Dodge ram has a good amount of room in the back seat even with the quad cab. The new silverados and fords are nice but the back seats are tiny (not enough room for a small kid let alone an adult). Between me and my family we have had dodge, ford, chevy and the newer dodges are great buys for the amount of truck and tow more than any of the other stock V8's.

    I 2nd the hydraulic steering, best investment I made. I spent $200+ on a whole new No feedback cable kit just to have it go bad in 1 season. I will never go back to cable steering.

    I do just that. I had a "rag boat" (love this term) this past weekend almost run my in-line over, it bounced off his hull I heard the thud. He was just staring at it. Idiots!

    My mast has springs on the pulleys and that seems like it keeps the boards from jumping. Mine don't jump period they just go up the wave then down the backside then back up. When I have a rough trailing sea and am being pushed faster than the boards they have a hard time staying out to the side but so do my little in-line boards.

    Hmmm interesting, I too run stabil. Here is my observation my big motor (oil injected) does not do this. My kicker motor is not oil injected and does this. I wonder if it has something to do with the mixed gas. I do rev up my kicker when I'm done trolling and it blows it all out. Sent from my thinking car!

    I love his stuff. My trees pictured above are from him, I backed them with that synthetic decking and large stainless fender washers. I can almost hang off them they are so sturdy (boat gunwale gives but the trees do not). I have no worries of my buddies grabbing them when we are getting bounced around the deck. They are top notch!
