Personally I think it takes the skill and sport out of archery hunting. Just like using a gun put the crosshairs on the object and pull the trigger. When these things have taken game out to 80 yards consistently. I love too see the average Joe take a deer at 80 yards using a compound. Sport wise when you're an archery hunter you have to work a lot harder to get yourself closer to the deer to learn there habits and patterns.
In the last 5 years my wife and I have shot the majority of my deer during archery season and rarely go out with our guns. Will using crossbow negatively impact deer population? No one will know because there aren't long term studies only time will tell in those crossbow areas.
If someone could provide a 10 year study (similar to NY in deer density and Terrian/climate) proving me wrong I will happily retract any above statements.

I run out of Point peninsula on the bay side, my in laws have a place right next long point state park. 11 miles out to the trench 11 miles back.Sent from my thinking chair...
Ya seems like the kings aren't quite there yet. Sucks for me because the shipping lanes are just a tad too far for me, the trench is already a 22 mile round trip.

Were you able to get down temps? With all this south wind I was curious as to whether it started to setup. Looks like you had some good luck with the browns! What spoons were you running?

Can you just cut it out and re-terminate? I bet the heat shrink would work until the cable wears on it a few times. Just be careful to not ruin the coating near the spot with too much heat. Could you warm the coating a little and squeeze the spot shut?Sent from the awesomeness of Chas!
Well today we had to work for the fish. We went 1 king for 3 (2 lost were screamers).
Best lure was Dreamweaver green white with glow and black ladder.
Best flasher/fly was hammer time with uv glow frog (I think that is what it is called).
We were over 130 fow down 70. Marked tons of bait and a lot of arcs just not many takers.
Didn't look like anyone else was doing any better. Tried a bunch of different spoons but kept the flasher flies the same.

You could get one of those Humminbird units that have the castable transducer and you could use that to see what is out there. I haven't used them but seem like they would work.Sent from the awesomeness of Chas!

How much longer are you planning on keeping the boat? If I were to replace wood in my boat it woukd be with coosa board. Im pretty sure you can get it from almost any marina. Otherwise marine plywood.
