Thanks guys. Why don't you name drop all the skinny water? How about instead of asking through the web page, you ask in a PM? Where he caught that fish there is room for just a few people. I can tell you it is absolutely no fun fishing there when a kid is in there hooking (ripping) them in the head and bragging about it. "I got that one in the head!" My rant is over. Have a nice day. Regards, Joe PS the 2nd pic was enough for all the die hard trib fisherman on here to know where you were. You can infer from that what you want.

The white stuff you see gelatenizing as it is cooked is the blood you didn't get out. When I am too lazy to bleed out the fish or someone gives me a fish not bled out I remember why I do it. Gills is a great way to do it and very easy. If you are aware of the anatomy, behind the gills up in the fish cavity is the artery that will remove the most blood the quickest. I like to do panfish to when I can.

Your timing is off. Not that there aren't any eyes in the river but this is the beginning of a huge migration of salmonids. Wait til November and the fresh males should start moving in from the lake and you will have less kings to break you off.

Greetings, just discovered Lake Ontario!

I have the same boat. Watch the weather - lake O can swallow you up if you are not careful. -
My brother said his came 2 weeks after his son's came. They are in the same residence so the mail technique must be messed up. I did get mine about 3 weeks ago.

Patriot, While I agree with your sentiments including your future projections, I disagree with your suggestion. This is and will be the state's issue. They do not consult me or take my suggestions so I shouldn't have to take the responsibility for their mistakes or misfortunes. If I chartered I would educate my clients and make suggestions. A small fish to you may be a fish of a lifetime to someone else. It is not my place to dictate to anybody what is appropriate except in my own house. BTW, I don't keep very many trout if any from LO. When I do I lok for a small brown female so I can have fresh eggs and can enjoy the meal. I keep salmon because I know so many people that just crave those black mudhens. Joe This thread is why I keep my strong feelings to myself. Hot thread before you know it. Except for Littering. Litterbugs should be flogged.

I have been thinking about setting booby trap alarms on the boat. Meaning when an item gets removed, a contact is broken and a very loud alarm goes off, similar to the way the window and door alarms work out of any hardware store. May seem simple but to a thief, it may spook them away before any real amount of theft ocurrs. Sorry for your loss Steelman. I feel for you. Joe

MHO - this is the best time of year to p/u a boat. Right now people are considering selling so they do not have to pay storage and winterizing fees. As I said before, it is a tweener purchase that you should probably save up for. The comment about using this loan to build up your credit score is a good one too, however, Personally, I do not like the idea of paying that much more than the boat is valued. Sk8man made very good points. You can not naively enter into this thinking that you have the money. I am sure you have heard the term house poor. Toys can make you poor too. I even know people who are poor because they vacation above and beyond their means. I think Ganggreen made very solid points as to how you should approach this dilemma/opportunity (My philosophy too). My wife and I discuss wants and needs all the time. Got to have a good perspective on this concept and life will be much more comfortable. Needs demand more urgency and wants get scrutinized more carefully. Currently, I get more wants because I am driving the wheels off my truck - no truck payment means more wants money. This is a great topic because we can see the different paths taken to get to where we are and each of us probably have different circumstances that contributed to those decisions.

I just got back. Not much of a bite that I expected. 9 bass caught, lost one eye and oddly enough, on my second cast with (Justin's Suggestion) blue Bomber I hooked what felt like bottom but it was moving up river. After about 20 seconds of thinking I had a musky on it came loose and I had the biggest scale on one of the trebles. Those things (carp) get foul hooked all the time and at first you think you have the biggest toothy critter on and then a big let down. The other one is catching big cats that have the same head shake as a walleye. That usually happens in October. I wish I would have gotten at least one eye but I am glad guys are getting them. Kevin and Justin reporting keeps me excited even when I have trouble finding the time to get out. I appreciate it tremendously. Thanks, Joe

Big moon. I noticed a few years ago that I always seem to do better. I do not know if it is true or not but it seems (to me) to be the point when they shift from a predominantly night bite to a early morning bite. Good Catch Kevin! I am trying local river tonight to see what I can muster up. Been running brown for a while now. Joe

A lot variables to consider in what had been a lot of variation in the ecosystem over the past 4 years. I was hoping the fishing would turn on and there would be more reports and less angst. I still want to believe that everything is ok and that one factor is the culprit for all these negative reports but if I see this year at the piers and in the streams is no better I will believe it then. I do not know if my glass is half empty or half full or full of liquid and air. Anyway, Good Luck and Tight Lines, Joe

I had the same problem as you do. I took out a student loan and proceeded to pay it off with a new credit card which I proceeded to pay off with the money I had already saved up. I took out a car loan. made payments. I paid for everything with my visa for a long time. I never spent more than what I could afford to pay off every month. It won't help you right away but it is what you need to do. I had to take a loan from my parents (in writing) when I bought my house because there was no electronic trail of the money that was in my sock. These institutions do not recognize ethical people - only those that live in the world of credit and payment options. It was a shock to me that my money was no good because it didn't come from my bank account in their financial institution. Good luck, I know what you are feeling. I consider the boat in that range to be a tweener purchase where you should probably just save up cash and negotiate with a seller.
