Pike make it in there for sure. I always assumed they made it out before it got too hot but no proof of that. Probably more accurate is that the snappers and the eagles get a tasty dinner. Swamp is taylor made for Yak fisherman.

When you say move them, do you mean the swamp or the actual lake? Also, was there a high pitch humming sound or was it the voices in my head again?

Spot on! I have been saying this for years. I even said it to the DEC. Too expensive was the biggest con. I couldn't make the state of the lake meetings but this was one of my proposals for the future.

I saw a few big gals several years back in the inlet that I would say were easily in the 20# range. The biggest one I saw yesterday might have been 10#s. My experience has been that the (Con) Pike tend to get long without that much girth. Could just be the small sample size for me. I think that I get more girth out of Ontario and St Larry. Guys on here know a lot more about it than I do. Just my feeling.

I didn't drive to the north end. The South end was clear. -

Gonna miss it... 1st time in a long time. Wife pulled a "this is more important" card on me. I have been in denial, but I will be in Mass for the opener and I don't know of any place to get eyes out there. My strategy always changes depending on current conditions. The temperature of the larger bodies of water should be considerably colder than the inlets and adjoining bays. This would be the transition I would target. Some areas, I don't even think they will be into post spawn so the bite might be tough. Good luck gentleman (and ladies).

Pap, that conversation was a real eye opener to me. There are always going to be people that don't unsderstand it. I Know this guy, we call him MSbaster. He shot a porcupine this winter and I told him not to broadcast it because people wouldn't understand why and give him a hard time. The hunter education people are encouraging students to use the word harvest instead of kill - also softer words like culling. Be careful about fishing too. There can be a distance between parties on that as well. Good luck this year. Joe

I have duck hunted in the past but solitaire and I don't anymore because I was just never showed the ins and outs of it. I have asked a few people how to get into it but really never leads to anything. I love the solitaire part of fishing and hunting but sometimes it helps to have someone more talented and knowledgable show you how it is done. This is similar to my turkey hunting. I just got back into it a few years ago after my fishing partner talked me into it and I love it now. Before I was take it or leave it. I am getting much better at it and i think that is why I am enjoying it. I guess my point is that it is great hanging out with your buds but it is also great to gain insight on technique. Every year i debate about getting my duck stamp and every year i choose to buy a high priced maple roast duck dinner from a local restaurant. I remember that. I was the other half.

3" nitro 4shot with primos jelly choke. If I pattern it it doesn't look impressive but I have not missed yet. Thinking about getting a choke made for W. Longbeard. If I do that, I guess I will need to get a scope as well to see what I am shooting at. When I start wounding birds I will change. Can't see the point when they be dropping in their tracks.

Never thought about bananas. I take apples because they don't get bruised as easy. I do not like to think of myself as superstitious but I do not shower before I go fishing and if a starling gets in the house, I make sure I catch it alive and release it outside alive. You could say that would be ridiculous but I don't want to be wrong on that one.

Nick, still think you could do this professionally. Chartering yeah, but I mean TV. I always enjoy your videos.

I like minnows because it takes me back as a kid, but my summer bag is loaded with soft plastics. Soft plastics are easier to make weedless than live bait and easier to keep on hot days. If you do use gulp alive please remember that it will need to be removed from your hook before it dries or you might as well discard the hook the next time you go out. Also, I tried the red worms and I thought they were absolute garbage. Stick with the gulp alive minnow types or the curly tail grubs. I haved used them along side actual minnows and it varied from trip to trip but it was close enough catch rate for me to make the change during warm water months. Good luck, Joe

I hope they are ready to hand out tickets this year.
