    i have a brand new minn kota rip tide 70pd 54" shaft 24 volt with i-pilot. it is the same motor as the powerdrive v2 except it is white and has a anode for use in salt water. looking to get $1100. it has not been used or mounted.

    no, it does not effect it. just a reminder. check the seals, if any, that are in the water pump housing. make sure no water got in the new fluid. there may be an o-ring or gasket in the water pump housing that needs attention. i am not that familiar with honda.

    i get plenty of hum from my wire rods. i see no difference in the amount of fish caught on my riggers with braid, no less and no more. the braid is much nicer to use. fleas are not a big problem with it. if you flick the line occasionally on the way up, they fall right off. IMHO

    the braid for downriggers is 200lb test. i got some a while back and use it on my big jons. no blow back, no hum. works great and i will never go back to S.S.

    sean, white lithium grease comes in a spay can and i believe it will solve. also wd40 will displace the moisture.
