Those kids will never forgot catching those fish. Great job, just one thing to remember and I see it almost every picture with people holding fish. Nobody is wearing PFD’s kids are required to wear them by law. I hear so many people post you got to respect Lake Ontario and how quickly the lake can turn on you. But you hardly see anyone wearing PFD’s when fishing. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I thought so, I have a Sea runner. Best Boat I have ever owned. But..... If I have to do it again I would have either went to the ocean pro or the Alaskan with the wider stance and larger cockpit. Its still hard to find fault in my Sea Runner, its easy to trailer and can handle some rough weather with ease.

Heres my take on it, because it has happened several times to me. It all depends on your troll speed to boat distance, if say you are creeping along at 1.5 to 2 and a boat behind you is cruising along trolling at 3 to 3.5 he will eventually they will come up behind you. And if that is the case he must change his course to allow you to continue trolling. slower vessel has the right away and you shouldn't move. But then there is always my favorite scenario. This one move happens a lot, you have a boat in front of you and your are at a good distance away from the other vessel when you see them hook up and then the googin move comes into play. They reel the fish in and then throttle up and circle back as fast as they can to go back over the same spot and now your almost on top of them. and they just screwed you because now you must drop your speed or worse drop to neutral ( which in shallow water means you will snag your lures on bottom ) so no choice but to throttle up and try to pass the googins and get back into your trolling depth. That is why a lot of people get tired of it and head to deeper water when there is to many boats in shallow.. at all cost to avoid the googins -

Just got back from fair haven , fished Monday to wed the weather was perfect but the winds were not on our side. We were hoping for west or NW winds but the winds turned NNE and fishing was tough. We did catch fish biggest was 15 lb lot of smaller kings. Currents were kind of crazy but fishable. Fished from 75 feet to 335 feet best fishing was before sun came up and then moved out to 275 feet 90 to 120 down. All the hits came off riggers with spoons -

Distance back for Browns
bobbyg470 replied to Swampy's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I run the outside rod, right down the to the board 75-100 feet out then I run the inside rod about 50-60 feet midway down the planer board line. As far as spoons that depends on the size of your spoons and on how deep you are fishing. if you are in shallow you wont need anything but the weight of the spoon sometimes. if your running deeper then a split shot added to the line will be enough to get it down. I sometimes will use my down riggers set 4 feet down in shallow and run small stinger spoons off the ball 50 feet back -
