  1. I run them plain, but Mike gave me a tip on the #1. Take a black maker and color the top of the spine. The contrast sometimes makes a difference. But be aware that the color will bleed through the rocket over time and you will have a very different looking bait as time goes on.
  2. They are deadly and Mike is a great guy to deal with. If I can remember off the top of my head #1,24, crazyfish, silver pearl in regular and mag will get you started.
  3. Must be ninja's aren't allowed to smile?? Nice Job!
  4. Thanks guys, my 2 definitely had a riot. They wanted to show their grandpa the fish they caught, but by the time we got out of long point Kyleigh was asleep again. I woke her up when we pulled in his house and the shock on my dads face at the size of the fish they landed at 3 yrs old said it all!
  5. Tried north of Sheldrake today. Went out with my twins (Daniel and Kyleigh) who will be 4 in August, along with Forester Dave and his 6 yr old Lucas. The kids did a great job! The kids fought 5 fish and landed them all! The only thing I did was help to hold the rod just in case. 1 7# laker on a 40 ft rigger. 1 laker on a slide diver on a 4 out 100. Lucas had the big fish of the day with a 8.5# laker on a 4 color! All other fish were on either a 3,4,or 5 color core. I did land 1 salmon that charged the boat before we could hand the rod to Lucas that weighed 6.25#. They hit scorpions with green, or copper as well as stick baits, either jointed or with a rattle. The water was like chocolate milk, about 63 deg on top. Fished between 30-100 fow,and were off the water by 11:00. It was a great trip, kids and Dads had a great time and Lucas and Kyleigh landed their biggest fish ever! Dave is going to post some pics when he gets a chance. My 2 could hardly get to sleep last nite, they just kept saying "Daddy I'm so excited to go fishing!"
  6. Gotcha! Thanks Pap. I think I have the small dipsy curves somewhere, I will give it a shot. Doesn't have to be perfect, just close and repeatable.
  7. Thanks Shelby. That is the one I have, I believe it is for the larger size diver. I was hoping to find one for the smaller size divers. They are probably 2.5 " wide. I can't believe the dive curves are similar due to the fact that there is much less surface area on the smaller ones.
  8. Does anyone have a dive chart for the smaller slide divers? I have the one from the company for the larger size #1, but I can't seem to locate a dive curve for the smaller one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. I have the Okuma and Shimano rods and no complaints about either one.
  10. Nice Report. What did you get the silvers on?
  11. I'm a father of 3 yr old twins, and an Elementary PE Teacher, as said before her smile says it all. If there were more parents taking their kids fishing the world would be a better place, and it would have a lot more happy children in it! Having to see everyday the struggles some of these kids go through will give you perspective very quickly.

Are you running wire or braid for rigger line?
  13. Are you planning on running the 5 color on the size 20 okuma? I would be concerned about not having anywhere near enough backing, and a king spooling you and ruining your day. If you have a larger reel to put more backing on, I would definitely try it. Just my .02
  14. Uh oh... The Rod Ninja's secret is out... :ninja: Get 'em Sandro! I mean Nick.
  15. How long of a lead from the paddle to the Rocket?
  16. That's some seriously good timing! Nice Job!
  17. Bass Pro or Dicks in Auburn will have a few also, if you feel like paying too much for them!
  18. I have one I would sell to you if your interested. It is off of an Alumacraft 175 dominator. The beam of the boat is 94". If you want I can measure it and let you know.
  19. I'm in. Fishing with FLX TROLLER!
  20. We definitely adjust trolling speeds based on the current. If you are going 2.5 into the current, and then turn and go the other way with the current, if you maintain the same speed you will be going much faster due to the current pushing you instead of working against you. Your spread will have a completely different look to it.
  21. The slider will ride in the belly of the line and stay there, until it is hit or reeled in. You can also "fix" it in place buy tying a half hitch in a rubber band around the main line.
  22. It seems many times that an East wind is accompanied by a pressure change that sometimes can shut the bite down?? Just a thought. I am also very interested in other peoples thoughts on this, we have never done very well on any kind of East wind.
  23. That's sweeeeet!
  24. That article from Chas has a ton of info and ideas in it.
  25. Nice job!
