  1. We fished that stretch saturday morning. Caught a grand slam of small fish with around 25 total. Mostly salmon, all on spoons. Best spoon was FLT herganator.
  2. I really like the Lund driver's seat!
  3. How do you prepare walleye wings??
  4. Nice job. How's the cotton on the water? Is it messing up top lines?
  5. That has been my opinion as well, just thought I would throw it out there.
  6. I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts/opinions were on fishing an east wind? I personally don't usually do very well on an east wind and usually try to avoid fishing it if possible. I realize that fishing an east wind is better than no fishing at all, I am just curious as to what everyone's opinions are?? Or do you change your strategy or game plan in some way?
  7. Probably something they can't pronounce and sure as hell don't know where it came from!
  8. Justin, The rate your catching 'em you have to eat a whole one for every dinner or you're going to run out of freezer space!
  9. Nice work! Any size to any of them?
  10. Good Luck Chris! Where you heading? Heard they have been getting some out of Barcelona but nothing great yet. Wonder if our crazy cold winter will push the fishing back there a little bit?
  11. Alaska is Awesome! We went to Alaska in '05 on our honeymoon and fished the Kenai for a day for Kings. My wife caught a 60# er. It was a great fight, with that being said I will not recommend my guide service at all, we were not real happy with their total package. We did also do a Halibut charter and that captain was outstanding, I would go back to him in a minute. If I can find the info for him I will give it to you. If I was able to go back I would try the Kasilof or some other river with less of a crowd. I was happy to be fishing the Kenai but I would have liked it more if it weren't so crowded where we were. I would also look into fishing for silvers (coho's) they catch more of them and they fight like hell! Halibut charter was out of Nilnilchik. They launch the boats with log skidders due to the 40+ foot tide!
  12. How far back from the boards?
  13. Tracker, Were the spoons flat lined off the boards or did you have some weight on them?
  14. I was looking for a special mate box as well until I saw the cost. So I went to Home depot and bought a $9 19" tool box and made my own dividers out of old picture framing backer material. I just cut them to fit in the box and then made 15 notches 1/2" apart to hang the spoons in. I also glued a 1/2" piece of foam insulation board to the top of the tool box so it holds the spoons in the slots in the dividers when the box is closed. Works good for me and it serves the same purpose. And it only cost me $9
  15. I use 40# Power Pro for backing under cores and coppers. You can fit alot more on the reel due to the small diameter. As far as clipping the boards on, just tie in a section of mono between your backing and leadcore and then you will solve that issue.
  16. We take turns as mentioned above. But what is more fun is to yell fish on and have the guy not be able to figure out which one it is. In the Seneca Derby this year I we were fishing in Forester Dave's boat. He was driving when a fish hit the dipsy, I picked it up, started to reel and hollered to him "Fish On the Dipsy" I swear to god he turned around all panicked and said "Which one, which one, which one???" I was in the middle of the boat with the rod in my hand!
  17. I don't know about new ones, but I still have one that my father bought back in the mid 80's. It is light weight but it works just fine.
  18. That's wild. How fast were you running that grease trap when the steelie hit?
  19. I fish both cayuga and Ontario. FLEAS SUCK both places but I think Cayuga is ridiculous.
  20. Take a release with a tether and connect the end of the tether to the net handle and hook the bottom of the net into the pad, thats it. I taped mine to the handle with electrical tape and it works fine.
  21. Anyone with a top enclosure ever tried a thermacell? They work great in the turkey woods. Might be ok out on the boat too??
  22. I would be worried about creating a weak spot in the copper and the leadcore?? Also, doesn't attaching the weight to the leadcore kill the flowing whiplike action as it travels through the water?
  23. Jekyll, Are you hooking the bomb to the leader or the backing? If the backing, how much line are you letting out after the dive bomb to achieve that much more depth?
  24. Jim, What were his suggestions besides probably a white glow paddle and a hammer fly?
