  1. Signed and also sent to myself to email to others who aren't LOU members.
  2. Or skip the cut bait and run the MC Rockets. You can look em up on line and Mike is a great guy to deal with.
  3. Where can you find Bob Fuller's paddles besides facebook?
  4. I would suggest running braid backer so you can fit more backing on your reel and just splice in 6-10 ft of mono to hook the release to. You can use either a willis knot or small QUALITY inline swivels. I think short cores are a better weapon because they are a little easier to manage and I believe they "sweep" the water column a little better on turns partially due to the buoyancy of the Dacron sheath.
  5. How about in the sodus / fairthaven area? Anyone chase them around there with any regularity? We picked up a 9 pounder last year trolling for salmon when the temp was all out of whack with warm water inshore. It hit a wonderbread stinger as a slider on a 100 ft rigger. We were surprised to say the least.
  6. Ivan, I know what you mean. I have an '08 and the locker is up under the floor of the bow. I would never buy one with the lockers in the side for the reasons you said. I do like my boat, but like many other people I wish it was a few feet longer! But it is very handy to do alot of multi-species fishing.
  7. I have blue diamond diver and rigger rods and have no complaints about either one of them. I run Okuma reels , so I can't comment about the Tekota.
  8. Ivan, That is a sweet rig! When My Alumacraft grows up I'd be happy if it turned out to be a 21 ft Lund Baron!
  9. 10-4! This guy kinda reminds me of stewie!
  10. Dan, You sure have a lot of rod holders for a 17' boat!
  11. I would be afraid of it creating a weak spot in the wire as well.
  12. 2008 Alumacraft Dominator 175
  13. I use 40 lb power pro for backing as well, but usually splice in a section of mono between the core and backing to hook the board to. I think it makes the board hold better. If you are using a swivel to connect to the core it will be easy to change out the mono section from time to time as well.
  14. Thats got to be one tired retriever!
  15. Dan Keating uses 12 lb. mono for spoon rods and he has caught a few fish I asked him how he dealt with the fleas and he said, as mentioned above; splice in some 30 lb mono to combat the flea issue.
  16. Has anyone ever tried one of these? They seem like more of a gimmick meant to catch fisherman? I would think they would kill the battery pretty quick. Can you attach a cordless impact gun to them as well or just cordless drills? I saw one at Bass Pro the other day and it got me wondering about them. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
  17. I live in Aurora and agree with skanperch above. Very fru fru Very expensive.
  18. how do you cook the divers? I've never found a way to "enjoy" eating them. I just marinate them in something to cover the taste and wrap them in bacon, and grill them. That way I just taste the bacon
  19. What are the birds above the redhead?
  20. Pap, I'm not sure where he bought it. I think he found one at a local shop. I also heard that Winchester is coming out with a single shot falling block style rifle chambered for it as well. Model 73 maybe? Not sure about that though.
  21. I would like to see both species thrive. Maybe they should be looking into dealing with the alewives and the reproduction issues they cause in the food chain above them rather than choosing which beautiful game fish they should eliminate? Just a thought.
  22. A friend of mine has a 17 win mag. I believe it is based on a .29 caliber nail gun case, but I could be mistaken? I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but there sure is a lot of room for powder behind that little bullet! Last I checked savage was the only company making a rifle for it, but that may have changed by now.
  23. I also vote for the 22-250, great varmint gun. In regards to the savage axis, I know they are cheaper but I don't think they have the accu-trigger. I could be wrong, but in my opinion that trigger is one of the biggest reasons to get a savage!
  24. I have a benelli super black eagle I bought used and it is an OUTSTANDING shotgun. Never fired a Stoeger but I have never heard anyone say anything negative about a Benelli. I would definitely buy another one if I needed it!
