We hit the water around 7am and headed east out of the bay. We headed east out of port and fished from perch point to east bay for the majority of the day. We went 11-14, biggest fish was 8lbs, majority stick bite but had a few hits on spoons. Water temp in the area was between 40-43, the water all had good color to it, and 10-14fow was best for us. The waves started to pick up so we headed in around 1pm.
I have a 9.9 4-stroke for my 24' penn Yan and it is quiet and does a great job controlling the boat with some waves. I don't think you want to go over a 10hp for a smaller boat.
