  1. shrader old timer
  2. lake ontario goes calm so does the bite, with the exception of a mid day bite. just my experience.
  3. i fish the same area you mentioned. theres a couple of "fishing charters" that think they own that place..in my opinion, they shut down the fishing in the area because of their distractions. i give them a good amount of space and fish on!
  4. i often camp there in the summer time and fish for smb. locals say there is alot of fishing pressure during the winter months. like no one fishes it during warm weather... found some smb and did ok considering the conditions.
  5. yup top one is a gizzard shad no doubt. bottom one i can tell is from the carp family. just my 2 cents.
  6. hell yeah! might even get a few gobies if you're too close to the bottom
  7. what size owner st-56 hooks? size 2?
  8. i caught a king 10lbs in port ontario with very little/small lower jaw last year in the fall. healthy but had a short lower jaw. what causes these kings to have this condition?
  9. spro coastalock, black snap swivels, welded ring. never had one open up, unless i forget to close it correctly. i have learned the hard way and lost a fair number of fish as well as tackle. DONT CHEAP OUT ON SWIVELS! top notch equipment=fish of a life time...
  10. hearing that ontario is low, like 3ft low. hows the launch. normally its only 3ft at the launch. anybody been down in that area lately?
  11. x2 all seasons. give them a call. im sure they will work something out with you. great guys. great selection. alot of knowledge about what they sell and why..
  12. i would make sure one life jacket per person while in the water. docked or moving dont matter. check everything now, theres ALOT of patrolling that weekend. cover all bases, cross every t dot every i. good luck and be safe.
  13. GREAT SEMINAR! i caught that as well. ive asked around, captains and different random fishermen, and came up with 22" consistantly on leader length. pretty standard measurement. im considering making a jig for this measurement, to make tying awhole lot easier.
  14. i would use marine grade grease, just my personal thoughts.
  15. or a flasher means a neon advertising sign. "eat at joes crab shack"etc.. then easy pickin' comes along, a flashy fly nearby. either way a flasher gets their attention to hit the easy prey.
  16. i agree mercrusier bellows are very tight room to work. drive must come off. period. a complete transom kit is needed-all bellows and hoses. or... you will be doing all this again soon is you only replace just the one. just my opinion, thats what i would do.
  17. whats the right rod for running plugs in the fall or dipseys during the hot months? ill be most likely running either 20lb or 30lb monofilament.
  18. nice! where can i get those beauties?
  19. black back, chrome sides and orange belly storm thunderstick?
  20. yeah i know the kings are in atleast 100' now but im getting prepared now for the late summer run.
