  1. i heard something about rope flies? basically a fly consisting mainly of rope so that their teeth get caught in it. never tried it myself but thats just what i heard. hopefully that helps.
  2. I use a Palomar Knot for all powerbraid. x2
  3. plenty of perch just about anywhere with weeds, panfish around greenpoint marina area, large mouths-skinny water with shade. lilly pads docks trees etc. hope that helps and good luck.
  4. im in the pulaksi river area alot myself. from the mouth all the way up to the res. this is disturbing to hear! hopefully you find them *%#*$ turkeys!
  5. i had a 30lb king salmon rip a rod and reel set-up out of my boat in two seconds flat. i watched it go. completely horrible sight! somehow i keep fishing! with another rod ofcourse. 2 days later same spot the guy next to me snagged the rod and reeled it in. i could not believe it. talked to the guy showed him my custom setups on my other rods and he clearly saw that that was mine and didnt take a reward! true sportsmanship. i wouldnt believe this story unless i saw it unfold before me..
  6. thats what i was thinking. kings-spring. just don't go together in my head. comma cozzy kings. always a few just way too early or too late..
  7. don't forget the plug either!
  8. in my opinion all seasons and whitakers have the best selection of fly tying equipment by far! those are the only 2 places i go for my stuff. everywhere else may alittle something the other two didnt have.
  9. im new to this spring king season. how long is the season and is there a large number that will be coming in to the east side shore?
  10. got my boaters license at 12! after years and years of boating i personally think everyone needs to take the course. i just shake my head at a lot of "boaters"..that have no clue regarding the law. however, it is a big money bag for the state. BUT it will increase a safe boating season. my 2 cents.
  11. i agree combine fish finder with main engine battery while turning on the alarm for low voltage on the lowarnce. this noise you speak of come from the trolling motor turning on and off. i USED to have my fish finder and trolling batteries hooked together. and that showed a spike on the graph-most of time a fish-when the trolling motor turned on/off.
  12. im new to this technique but willing to give it a go. i go out on onartio fishing with my bass boat for late season smallies but often come across large balls of baitfish and BIG fish below. always slowed down and tried to get them with crankbaits. crankbaits wont go deep enough in most cases. what pound test for this technique? either for kings or browns. thanks
  13. what lb test for main line and leader?
