  1. upstatefreshwarer.org Click on Oak Orchard Middle left shows surface temp at the 60 foot buoy and the temp on the bottom
  2. More important to not allow bananas on your boat.
  3. In most cases something gets hot and you replicate it. I check my rods frequently.
  4. Older boy came into town mid day. Let lines in 80 foot at 12:30. Was hoping for browns and set up accordingly. 63 down 80 over 100 but had to run high three’s going west to get 2mph ish. Did a Brown, small King and a couple Bows. Lost, dropped, three or four more. One of those days where you struggle to maintain down speed with only a few workable directions. Off the water at three, will revisit in the morning.

  5. Looks pretty cool
  6. Start inside, 80 ish. Slide out gradually covering the bottom half of the water column.
  7. Not true. My boat has over 6000lbs of swamped capacity. Pull the plugs, fill it with water and park your car on it.
  8. I was told Sea Tow was coming to take care of it. Going to drive by later and check it out.
  9. Was driving along Sandy Creek and saw this sunken boat. Really too bad, sucks.
  10. I was wondering if you got caught in that storm. Spooky stuff!
  11. Funny, There were virtually none. Me and Rick talked about that while we were out. Crazy
  12. Glad you had a good time Devon! It was fun, lots of laughs, even better when it’s at Rick’s expense. In all fairness, Rick was awesome to come along and help this morning with no sleep. Much appreciated.
  13. DSM5578 (Devon) joined Dickey and I on the boat this morning. Devon is relatively new at Lake Ontario and wanted to get things dialed in a little. Good news I did a master class on how to tangle copper rods with diver rods, hopefully he puts this new found knowledge to good use. Worked primarily 120 to 180. Water was quite unstable, warm water flooding in from the west. Had a quick double followed by a handful of drops and tangles. Was a little bit of a grind but by 11:30 we’d had over 20 bites and landed a dozen Kings with four or five over 20lbs. Lots of laughs, had a fun morning.
  14. 15lb test tomorrow might be tough with the sea fleas. I run 12lb in the spring but that ship has sailed.
  15. Manny I run 40 and it’s a non issue.
  16. Great report. The Smart Troll’s are awesome, (when they work). Definitely a game changer but not cheap.
  17. Yeah it’s some academy thing. He graduates Thursday, hopefully it’s gone Friday lol.
  18. Out with Tommy this morning. Lines in at 6:30 and out at 9:00. Worked 150 to 180. 45 degree water was down 55 feet. Riggers at 45 and 55 mag divers out 100 and 120. All rods pulled fish. All Kings this morning, we were busy.
