  1. Was a nice day, and yes Congrats to jay trish and Andy, you guys make it look easy.
  2. Keep your eyes on the surface temp map (located on the left side of the home page on this site) periodically the lake "flips" and it puts cold water on shore during the summer months. When that happens a lot of the fish head for warmer water offshore however some, mostly browns, will congregate in shallow water. When this happens you can definately catch some off the piers.
  3. as long as water temps dont exceed 60 degrees you should be able to pick up browns at first and last light with spoons and plugs. 8 lb line is fine and the local piers like hamlin beach or the oak are a good bet. Later in the year, mid september it will pick up.
  4. thank you, have been working too much, getting out friday am. Looking forward to it. looks like im going to do the brown trout thing.
  5. What do the temps look like?
  6. Good Luck Bruce, hope all goes well.
  7. Are we # 40? [ Post made via iPhone ]

  9. How far back, what color,how fast,what direction,.............................yikes
  10. Doesnt surprise me. Over the years I've been fortunate to take a few derby fish on NK's. I have a pic of Patsy (deceased owner) with my kid from 2001 when he won the youth Steelhead division. He gave us a bunch of lures and used the pic for ads. Last year I was lucky enough to catch the winning summer derby brown, 20lbs 11 ounces on a NK. I sent NK an email offering them the pic for nothing in return. It was a cool looking pig of a brown, only 33 inches long, crazy fat. Thought they might want the pic, but never heard a word from them. Too bad because Im an NK freak and more often than not if Im running spoons they are NK's. Love the lures however their customer service isnt the best.
  11. I like the slide divers, I can run leads as short or as long as I choose. When fishing the top of the column the long leads really produce.
  12. Mono has too much stretch to release a dipsy out more than a hundred feet or so. Braid has no stretch and is easy to pop a release at 300.
  13. Im not sure why folks here are so confident that braid is a flea magnet. I have run 80 lb braid (same diameter as 30lb mono) for over ten years and although it does pick up some fleas, most fall off when reeling in. Those that make it to the rod tip fall off when they get to the tip. I like the fact that the braid has no stretch and I can "pop" a release with 300 feet of line out with the flip of the wrist.
  14. Hey Mike how have you been? didnt fish this weekeend but Tommy popped a nice Tom with his bow Saturday am. Im off for most of the sping derby, maybe we can hook up? Bill Ryan
