  1. Got a late solo start today. Had to mow the lawn and plow up the food plot. Left the dock around 1130 and motored out to 230 foot of water and headed north. Deep rigger at 90 feet, 50 degree water with a Spin Dr and fly. Second rigger running a Mag Pirate and a Slide Diver out 275 with a Wonder Bread Spin Dr. The flys were biting bad, my ankles were bloody and an hour and a half in I had landed 2 bows and a low teens King. I was thirsty and sick of the flys and decided to clear. I cleared the deep rigger first followed by the one at 75. Turned to grab the dipsy and it started to scream. 800 feet on the first run, knew it was a good fish. Started to turn on the fish when it ran another 300. Thankfully the other rods were up, I circled the fish for a half hour and got bit by more flies. The fish stayed deep the whole time but eventually came up and I managed to get the net under it. Just under 27lbs of pure silver. Wasnr able to revive it but found a family fishing Long Pond that were thrilled to have it.
  2. That’s awesome! i bet that fish is as old as the guy that caught it. Very cool.
  3. X2
  4. Looks like a great day.
  5. Hope you got out and caught some fish.
  6. Mostly east west. Was in 60 to 80 with turns but mostly in 70. Current was running west, neede a little more gas heading east. Fish the marks and bait. When you get on them stay on them.
  7. Set two riggers. Deep one was an NK mag black and green with a white belly. Second 10 feet up was the Pirate. Pirate was slamming so I put down the second. Ended up pulling the dypsy, it was just in the way. Had doubles twice and being solo and no autopilot I just go with the flow. Was running 2.0 to 2.5 at the ball.
  8. Fished 60 to 80 for Browns. 70 feet was best with riggers down 50 and 60 doing most of the damage. Solo trip, also had a dypsy out that never moved. Fished 730 to 1130 and boarded 16 Browns and two small kings. Pirate Crystalina mags did most of the fish. Most 4 to six pounds, couple around 8 or 9.
  9. Anyone going out in the morning?
  10. That’s the best! Congratulations Manny and team. Great day and a great cause.
  11. Maybe if you have a four man team and some luck/skill. I prefer simple sets. Two down, free sliders if I’m not running more than 15 feet behind the ball. Two slide divers. My best Browns have been on mag spoons more often than not.
  12. 100 foot from the spoon to the diver. 9 foot Flourocarbon leader to the barrel swivel. 100 lb braid main line.
  13. All of the above. Usually where 60 ish water meets bottom enhanced by pearl essence water and the presence of bait. Assuming the last two they will hit in warmer water and higher speed some days.
  14. Brown trout fishing will only get better when things settle down a little.
  15. Friend of mine had a good morning with Browns and an Atlantic this morning just west of the bay. Same depth of water.
  16. Quick solo trip looking for Browns. Lines in at 6 and out at 8. Landed 6 all 4 to 6 lbs. 35 to 45 feet of water. Riggers at 20 and 30. Slide Diver with 100 foot lead and 80 feet back. All took fish, running mag spoons. 64 surface, 60 down 30.
