  1. front, but that is a 4 setting so it is angled out pretty good
  2. i agree longline. but why isnt it happening to anyone else who runs them? i never tried turning the tubing b/c it is just thick mono. thought it would pinch and hold. also i stopped using the spring on the diver arm after reading another thread where guys said you don't need it when running them on mono, maybe i will go back to using it.
  3. it does sound impossible. it must be slipping (which still means the mono is biting into it) because I didn't take a fish on that diver the last trip when the ring came back sliced.
  4. i could, but the beads are way back near the swivel when you snap the diver in place (70 feet back in my case). they do not stay near the diver since the water pressure pulls them back and away. so the line will always be touching the diver until it trips and slides down to the beads.
  5. take braid out of the equation. the mono is what is cutting/grooving the diver. i have it rigged exactly as stated by silver fox above, the only thing different is i have a plain spro swivel and not a ball bearing swivel after the bead and before the leader of choice
  6. that is true im not using the lite bite version, and you are correct that would keep the line from rubbing on the diver until it trips. but i have 6 of these things and am not trying to add any more.
  7. it does NOT slide on the braid. the braid is in front of the mono (albright knot). the knot would not pass through the diver eyelits. there is no way it is sliding on the braid. also they are made to slide on braid anyway! yes, i use an 8mm bead in front of the swivel. the control arm is not worn it is just not very smooth. Here is one on another rod that is rigged:
  8. thats what it looks like right? braid mainline. 70' 30# mono i guess i can't be sure it isn't slipping. i know when i trip the diver it is weightless for a while before it catches on the swivel. so I assume it is sliding for a long ways
  9. no im not, it runs just like a regular diver. im pretty sure if you ran it backwards it would be a spinning disaster. so the line running out the back to the lure is where it is getting chewed up.
  10. the only weight behind the diver is a 70ft piece of mono and a spoon. the 4oz weight goes inside the diver disc replacing the stock weight (comes with the 3oz right out of the package).
  11. this was without the ring about a month ago. was brand new ran for 8 hrs
  12. Both 20# and 30# big game leaders have been eating into my slide divers lately. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or what cause it doesn't seem to happen to anyone else that I have talked to. Last trip out I ran one with a ring and a 4oz wieght to get it deeper and when I brought it up the ring was sawed almost in half at the back of the diver where the line rubs on it.
  13. the day divers were hot how far out were you running them? standard or mag size? I cant seem to get anything going on divers this year
  14. fished yesterday afternoon in front of the nuke plant. mainly stayed in 160-240. only went 2/4. tough bite for us and the currents were insane. We had a quick release on the center rigger and when we brought it in there was the mag diver on it?? nothing destroyed though we got lucky. 400 copper went with a mag mooshine and 100 rigger went twice with a mag moonshine. had a release on F/F but must of been a quick shot nothing there when I got to the rod. took a 17lb king and a laker. we tried inside waters 120 ft and had great temps 55-60' down but it was void of life. Hardly any boats out. We saw one boat in what looked like 40-50 FOW and a few boats way out beyond us. clearwater, have you been getting most of your fish in the morning?
  15. yes it is and theres a picture of it on the LOC home page
  16. has there been an afternoon bite out there? or still a morning bite?
  17. sent a pm
  18. on your riggers just tie your 30# ande right to the flasher snap swivel. no leader required IMO. I would use a leader with spoons cause 30# is pretty thick, but not for F/F
  19. think this thread might be dead. sent the guy a pm he told me to txt him. told me he would get back to me after the txt, and never did. that was over almost 2 months ago
