i have a depth raider. coated cable sux! its such a pain to not destroy it just from basic up and down rigger use..... just trying to make it last through the season. X4 or X4D next year
i dont think you will even need the extra keels. i guess it depends what your pulling, but youre a walleye guy right? short leadcores, short coppers, and flatlines will pull fine with single keel and still get you pretty far to the sides
fished the dunes yesterday. had 68-69 degrees 100 down everywhere we went except in <140 it was in the 70's. my probe cable has been shortened so I can't get temp much below that. we marked few fish all around 120 and below. (guessing thats were the temp was) fishing was not good
guess it depends on setting too... we've been getting bit on 300 out 2.5 setting. i figured the dipsy planes out at some point and won't go any deeper. not sure if thats true or not
no the bar is fine. its the actual bracket that wraps around the kicker that broke. so the black metal peice between the clamps that is spot welded to the elbow. that black peice broke in two and the elbow broke free as well.
yep mer cruiser. everything is good on that end just need the bracket and the quick connect (on the kicker side) i believe its 4".
im in central square and fish out of mexico bay
The bracket cracked on the ez steer today leaving us with no way to steer the kicker.... it broke on the kicker side not the main outdrive side. When I powered down the boat and fired up the kicker this is when I noticed I couldnt steer and the bar was hanging in the water above the prop but luckily still attached at the one side.
Anybody know where I can get a new one for the cheapest price? I did some basic searches on amazon and nextag ebay. Just thinking someone on here may know a good site. Thanks if you can help.

just bought one of these and been sharpening all points on spoon trebles. youtube video shows how to use it and do the thumbnail test. hooks are way sharper than when you get them new
yesterday was brutal out there. 3-4's and horrible bite. we got 2 of those dink browns on mag spoons that we dragged around on riggers before we checked the lines.
we blanked yesterday. really warm water water moved in. 74 down 85 and probably went deeper but my probe was acting up.
not many marks and not much bait. went looking for kings set up in 100 went out to 220. Then the north wind got strong and we came back to the inside with no hits and called it.
when you pull spoons behind flashers/spinnys you make the leader longer so they arent affected or barely have a change in action.
so a 3-4 ft leader for 8" flasher. a-tom-miks behind flashers are far more productive IMO
Is there anywhere that sells just the dipsy weight enclosed in the base plate? I had a standard clear dipsy come up cracked with no weight. The rest of the dipsy is fine. Clear dipsys and spoons seem to take a lot of hits for me, even more than black IMO.
ran a 5 and a 10 color sunday out in mexico bay for browns and no takers. changed the 5 out for a 7 still no takers. then started to head out deep late in the day for kings and the 7 color got hit with a dreamweaver get r done SS. That was the only hit we had on lead all day and we missed it. But riggers were popping and divers were on fire all day.
