  1. Great deal I know I'll be there, Dave convinced me, it will be something for us eastern end fisherman!!
  2. I doubt they closed, probably went on vacation or something. That would be my guess. Who really knows in this world anymore. I know when we come up for the early browns it's not very active yet.
  3. Yea it's in business but most close up for the season, like stated above some don't open till May, Henchens is open as soon as the ice is off because many charters run out of there, they have a good selection of baits as the charters eat them up like candy. If there's an empty slot bet your bottom dollar that's a good lure,
  4. OH yea that will take a few eyes for sure. My best spoon ever is the chicken wing, I have them by Stinger and in a super slim spoon. I'm going to make that color on a bigger spoon like NK or something to that size
  5. Sammy is good guy everything he has is in excellent condition!! I have bought things from Sam, great guy to deal with!!
  6. Chaumont has a state launch, if your coming from Black River way you go past a Napa store go over a bridge keep looking to the lake side, you'll see a sign pointing towards the launch. I don't know what size boat you have I put my 22ft cuddy in there. It's not a launch with all the bells and whistles, get your boar out into the water as far as possible, keep trimmed up till your into your comfort zone, keep to the left of the orange cones till the end of them. It's not a deep launch, they have lots of parking. I just looked it up, it's 2 miles west of Chaumont bay of RT 12 can hold 100 trucks & trailers. Hope this helps. PAP
  7. I'll 2nd the above poster. I've been at it with a airbrush, I'm getting the knack of the base colors so that the rest of the colors work together. But your work is amazing to say the least. The hardner and clear coat is amazing also!! Congrats to your effort put forth. Keep us posted. One other thing is the bill made out of what they call circuit board material? Very nicely incorporated in to the lure.
  8. Those split back rebels were the go to lures up in Canada back in the late 70's when I made by first trip to Quebec just above Maniwaki, used to be owned by an old Frenchman. Boy to go back to those days knowing what I do know.
  9. My daughter caught her first eye in the Black River basin on a purple hot & tot and a nice one at that.p
  10. Excellent body profile, not to mention the knock out paint scene, I wish you you the best, as it's not an overnight deal to make a functioning lure. Lots of ups and downs till totally satisfied!!
  11. I'm nosy LOL I have my radio on scan at all times unless I drop to lower channel for info, but that's gone to the wayside since cell phones
  12. Geezes shyts, where were theses guys when I was looking?? A 22fter yet, that's what I call a justified crime. Best of luck to the new owner!!!
  13. Nice going guys, nice weather, fish, sounds like you two had a good time and that's what's all about!! Congrats to your outting!!
  14. Save your breath guys, so called experience trumps sceince I'm out.
  15. Most fish see in color, the retina of a fishes eye contain two types of cells, rods and cones. The cones are used for day vision and are the cells that see color. Rods are used for night vision and cannot distinguish colors, although they can see light intensity. In most "freshwater" fish, the eyes proscess both rods and cones, night feeder like walleye that live in greater depths have more rods. Day feeders bass, trout, salmon are more sensitive to color than night feeders. They have done studies that rainbows in the Pacific and salmon have color vision like humans. Now our brown trout are capable of sharply focusing on near and far objects at the same time and clearly see differant colors at differant distances. To see what fish can see or can't, I use this site for info. www.seagrant.wisc.edu . Selecting Lure Colors for Successful Fishing - Wisconsin Sea Grant.
  16. 2 years ago I blew a lower unit, while having a kicker I managed to get to where I could see land and what looked like a dock, as we got closer at a mere 3.5 mph I saw a guy jump off his lawn mower and wave us over. From there he took us back to our campsite where I grabbed my truck and trailer and headed back to his house, we got the boat out but I'm sure glad he insisted to hook onto my trailer and pull us out, I mean this went up hard. Then he dropped my trailer and I hooked to it. He wouln't take no money, as a few years ago he broke down and 2 guys from Pa. Towed him over a hour&half to his dock, and if he could ever return the favor he would. Just so happened we were the first and from Pa. that he could return the favor. I have dropped from fishing to tow a few boats already, not only on LakeO but in Canada and in Pa. I'm truely floored by the selfishness said on here!! I guess the hell with you attitude and hurray for me attitude even applies to helping out a stranded fisherman also. My god what's this world come to??
  17. Yea, I saw this on the news last night, I was wondering where it landed? Well I guess that's as good of a place as could be!! On land could be a differant story. Good job Rebel, I like these topics. Pap.
  18. Absolutely Erieboy, it was this sight that kept me going more than once. Lost my dad to cancer. He was my best friend also, plus a partner in our business our last name is "Frey" and our business name was F&F starter&alternator. A few years later I fell off a ladder that was up at the second story and landed on a air conditioning unit. I thought I could jump over it well that didn't work, I ended up with a busted off spine just above my waistline. Long story short many many days in the hospital and rehab, not knowing if I would walk again or how far I'd be able to walk. LOU made it possible for me to interact with the guys and the sport. So hang tough!! Think positive!! Your mind is a powerful tool. Get yourself active in the sport and surround yourself with positive people. Good to see ya back!! Pap
  19. I'd go with a Snap On they put righty tighty--lefty loosy if ya forget.
  20. Your absolutely correct, as I say in my original post!!

    Picks

I've never seen a woman that can look like a freak of nature, 3 minutes later remove all that nonsense and let her hair down, She is a good looking lady. Also a lot of these commercials were pointing towards trump and this Immigration business. I just can't believe that these big money stars can't see beyond their blinders.
  22. Like I said, then there's that fluke that totally blows everything we thought right out of the water. .
  23. Man you guys are stacking them up!! keep at em guys love the pics!!
  24. I think I worded myself wrong, about no visible light, I ment it to be enough visible white light to keep the color sceme's to stay at the colors they are as we know them. Water acts as a selective filter, it filters out one by one as the light descends, it's gradual. Most of the red is gone from the light, at 5ft. Some of the Orange is gone in the first 10ft. Less of yellow is lost at 10ft. At 25ft most of the orange is gone. At 35 most of the yellow is gone. This continues through the spectrum until all is left is violet light and that fades out after hundreds of feet. Ok so if we swim down 30 ft and take a picture most objects would appear blue, green, violet and/ or black. Neon colors don't loose their colors like spectrum colors. Ultraviolet is found after violet, which is invisable to humans. Like violet it go to extreme depths, when a neon color is hit by the invisible ultraviolet it glows or "fluoresces" the more foreign products are in the water, mineral, algae, pollen, water fleas, things change. Sometimes for the better. I think I came across as the water, light was gone as in black. Sometime we forget that everyone is on deck with whatever ones talking about.
