Justin is spot on with this, before the spill everytime I got a chance to fish above the dam in Dexter, up to the riffles in Brownville I did, it was the best spot I ever fished!! There was this one place I knew that was home to a mighty pike, this guy lived right outside of a beaver dam, and was the most intelligent fish I ever fished for. This fish has tore me off, broke poles buy swimming so fast towards the boat you had no time to get the tip over the bow or stern, and of course swimming into the beaver dam and wrapping your line around branches that you have to cut the line or he tore himself off. Also if you knew what you were doing you could get a limit of eyes everytime up that River. After the spill that big pike no longer taunts me, the eyes are coming back but very slow, every once in a while you'll catch a 18" eye, and the smallies are well, small smallies, the Black River Bay, has never and will never be the same as I knew it when that area is what got me hooked on the walleye fever I still have today. It's a crying shame this happened as it could have been avoided. Litterly it's called Shyt Happens.

The trib was the Black River and it F'ed up everything for years, it's just starting to get back to the way it was. That spill killed so many fish that the fish com. were running around in boats scooping up dead fish. Matter of fact you couldn't catch a red eye, that's sad. We were just getting the eyes back in the river.

Oh buy the way Nick your new site is awesome!! Be gettin in touch soon!! -
Yea we had a electric bill also and a propane delivery, but the electric bill needs to be paid every month, so we gave Hank our neighbor a key to the PO box if we didn't think we would get there from the 15th to the 15th so we knew what to send up to Hank and he mailed our bill out for us. We were lucky to have a good neighbors like that. The propane we got delivered when we were there and just paid the bill right there.

Well we owned property on the Perch River for 10-12 years. We didn't tow back&forth, but we did trailer to differant area bays, so in order to be legal on the road we registered the trailer and the boat into NY State for inspection purposes, it just made things easier, we had a 24fter and had it get the trailer inspected every year anyway. There used to be a garage in Dexter that was a inspection station, litterly 5 miles if that from our place, now there's a bank there. My dad and other uncle could get resident licenses, and me also, but friends of ours just got the 7 day licenses or a yearly one if they thought they were going to come up again. One thing the above poster states is correct, if you don't have a physical address you can own a thousands of acres and it doesn't matter, we needed to get a PO box to do this, the Mail has to go to a registered area, whether it's a PO box or a mail box. Gas was way cheaper and the economy was better we used to go sometime just for the weekend, but as we went less, we told the post master our situation and just eliminate the junk mail and put the rest in a cardboard box till we pick it up.

For 35+ years my boats have been registered in Pa. Because they use the address that's on your drivers license. If you have a camper in a campground that you bought elsewhere you need to register to your home address, right, then you tow it to a campground in NY State, how do you register something in a state you don't reside in? Ok here's another story. My cheap ass uncle who lives in his camper in the BRCG, wanted to get a local fishing license because it's cheaper, wtf we laughed at him, calling him a cheapF. He couldn't get a resident license, because he didn't have a physical residents mailing address. He was told he needed to get a PO box in the town of Dexter and it needs to be active for 90 days before he was considered a NY resident and be able to get a resident licence. This gets more interesting, I guess he had to fill out a form and it asked what all he owned, boat, car ect, well NY state wanted him to register his boat in NY his car what ever the dumb ass said he owned, and all this shyt came to his new PO box. Moral of the story to save $30 it ended up costing him hundreds of $$ LOL because he had to transfer registrations on his boat, car, camper, plus licenses on the car, which didn't pass NY state smog bullshyt. Bottom line to save a dollar it cost litterly cost hundreds!! I don't slip my boat but for the time I'll be there. I keep it all in Pa. Like I've been doing for years, like said above, I'm just visiting. LOL

Run UV spoon colors or non UV spoon colors

It works well, at night to run stick baits near the surface and in tight to shore, also spoons with a 1/4oz split shot 3-5ft in back on the line, use shallow divers with rattles and I use a UV spray on my lures. You can shorten your leads at night also, plus I use a glow stick on my big boards so I know where they are even though I have a good light mounted on my light bar to shine on the boards, which I also have that dept of motor vehicles tape on also, Heavy duty trucks have this reflective tape. So I don't need to have the light directly on the boards, should they drift back or front. -
That's incredible story, I wouldn't have needed animal control that's for sure!! 22cal shorts would have done the job with minimal damage to the house. I can't believe that animal control left them loose!!?? And the best part not far from the guys house?? The owner of the house is correct, the mating season for them is going on right now. Callers should be using female invitation calls and dominate male calls also, coyote fights with rabbit in distress calls, as the males job is to bring feed to the den, so an easy meal if the male with the food is smaller. This is my favorite time of the year to hunt. It's like the rut for deer hunting. The male will let his guard down with the female invitation howl "call"

Yea Lucky 13 I know the feeling, I've got to put a new fuel filter and fuel line, and take the bowl off the carb of the tractor. The tractor runs as long as you keep spraying gas in the carb. So it either has water in the gas that froze the filter up or I have a bowl full of water. John Deere makes it nearly impossible to get at this stuff with out disassembling all the tin work. I tied a string to the fuel line before I pulled it out, now I can attach the new line to the string and hopefully pull it back to the tank. I need to do all this before I can attach the blower. So I'm kind of glad the weather is cooperating with me. It's nice to hear about the signs of spring, but February can be a ****!! and in March we have some of the deepest snows of the season, but the snow doesn't last!! Do any of you remember that heavy snow we got years back, it was late in March, we had days in the 60's and guys had their boats out, with their canopies up and the weight of the snow smashed them flat, it was sad. I had a 18ft center console and I litterly shoveled the snow out it was up to my knee's!! A lot of heart broken guys with canopies, just ruined, bars bent you name it. The canopy guys were happy they made money that spring!! . Here's to mild second half of winter. PAP.

Run UV spoon colors or non UV spoon colors

Some brands of lures have those glow particals in the paints already, so if the company sprays a UV onto a paint unknown to them that already has refractive properties, blue's like what's shown would look like a spot light shining in our eyes, that's what the fish see's also. It's not a natural look. If you see it that bright, imagine what it looks like to a fish!!! I'm not going to say UV isn't the answer, because they are proven time & time again, what some people don't understand is it's possible to over UV a product. Take a UV spoon and spray UV product onto it, they sell the UV spray all day long, and you just created a deer in the headlights spoon. It's proven fact even when fishing a trout stream, bright colors on bright days and dark colors on dark days. Why, because those colors flow with the surroundings, that's why at night we use a flashlight to see it's totally opposite in the light conditions. -

Nobodies going to even look with a $850.00 amount with what he has listed which is 31 lures with a note + more, not I have close to 200 lures, people have been taken for a ride already with posts simular. I'm not giving shyt I tried to help the with posting the pics. I'm saying what people will say posted as he did. Yer friend pap LL -

Actually I've been doing a lot of research on this as I'm in the learning process of airbrushing my own lures and before I order UV paint, I looked into this. First thing that came up that I thought was important was at 40ft of water there is no visible light. Blue and violet wavelengths only penetrate water to about 40ft. Water absorbs red in the first 2 feet in the water column, yellow-green in the first 15-20. Hmm I'm fishing the majority of the time below that!!?? There was a study that says that ultraviolet light for vision is down to 700ft. Most of these studies were done in the mid 90's can't remember exactly. LOL also there was another scientific study, also in the 90's that fish have a optically active Rodopsin proteins in the retinas of their eyes, also birds, which reacts to UV. Wavelengths, totally invisible to human. The chemical that man came up with was Titanium dioxide in two different crystalline forms. Rutile & Anatase, the Rutile was the second best known to us as diamond crystals are the most reflective. The reflection is the strongest at approximately 350nm in the ultraviolet spectrum and 450nm in the visible spectrum. These are the wavelengths where this Rodopsin proteins in the retina of a fish react most strongly to UV light and blue light. So you need to see if the chemical called Titanium dioxide crystals in two forms Rutile and Anatase. The Rutile crystalline form of titanium dioxide is in the paint or spray as they are the refractive crystal known to us, other than Diamonds. Also this chemical can be ground to a fine powder and just becomes a clone of its bigger form and still keep it's reflective abilities. One other thing to keep in mind when choosing colors is, visible colors of red, yellow-green and blues are maxed out while transmitting only 2-40 feet in clear water. This 40' radius is transmitted in every direction, not just down. Only because of UV vision are fish able to see objects more than 40' away either by reflections or the bottom of your boat, a silhouette. One other interesting thing I came across is electromagnetic energy exists simultaneously as a wave and as a packet of energy. The reactive retinal Rodopsin proteins have a very narrow range in which they will react to a particular wavelength of energy. Your black box. LOL also the sounds of rigger cable hum, anything that comes close to that 350-450nm wavelength, whether its light or sound in our world it's wavelengths in their world. Lures that rattles, to a fish is a injured fish in distress or they actually see it. I believe in it, I've run UV high and low. I bought a bottle of that UV spray for lures, at first I thought the oder was not fishy, so I mixed in shiner scent. Does it work yea when there feeding, just cuz they can see it doesn't mean everytime you make a cast its FISH ON. PAP. -

Boy I hope your right Gill!! I just watched the long range forecast for the NE and it's supposed to be above normal with temps in the 40's near 50 towards the later part of this week. It wouldn't hurt my feelings any. My wife's school district is on strike, a week already so kids are home. They wish it would have snowed so they could go outside and play!! They came in earlier and wanted me to snowblow the area by there basketball hoop, about 3/4" so it will melt, now tomorrow they want freezing rain then all rain. I feel bad for them. Now every holiday will be nothing because of the strike. I don't blame them for striking but they could of picked a better time. The town has given the teachers a ton of support by donating lots of food, drinks hand warmers ect. The girls have been baking so that's good but not for my waistline LOL
