Guys, I got flies unrigged, I was told to go to Bill Saiff web site and he shows you how to tie the tournament style fly. It takes a few watches and pauses till you get the hang of it. He also uses a welded treble and it's important to have your line in certain spots, like the flat side on a welded hook, and how to add the beads and where to place them. Then the added secret trailer hook and what size. It's the best video I've found for all the little bits and pieces in making the perfect fly!! Look him up you won't be sorry!! PAP.

Sold / Closed Lowrance hds 10 gen 1

Hell ya thanks, for the heads up, they probably are swamped with Lowrance products since C.S. Is just about worthless!! I have Lowrance products but I can guarantee you one thing it's my last!! When our military is using Raymarine!! If they used Lowrance from my personal perspective, let's see, they would need to leave on constantly, when it's not froze up, it's only takes about 5 minutes to lock onto 15 satellites where most others use 32, if they used 32 you'd need to activate it before your first coffee of the day. One would need to take a 6 month class on how to operate the damn thing, my toilet paper is thicker than Lowrance's instruction manual. LOL those of us who own on can relate to my words, it would take a tech nerd to jump right in the drivers seat of these units. I've heard the touch screens are much easier? -
2017 Upgrade to LOU - Notice

I couldn't agree more Trophy why should the lurkers sorry guys I know a lot of guys on here a long time have access to the same privileges that the pro members have except for a Lou form, thats rendered just about useless!! $20.00 comes much harder for me than most others, just look at their equipment compared to mine. It would be nice to see a lot more red tags in the corners of their posts, plus help the sight be the best it can be!! Just my opinion. Everyone has their own.!! -
Well can't say much more than Les, he has covered just about every angle, I just want to share an experience I had that will make Les's words a little more understanding!! I had at the time a 18ft Troller with a 88 SPL I had home made very slender pancake weights with special tails to act as a downward planer worked great at home they were directly under the boat and tracked true after a few bends with a vise grip and a hammer, we used road signs for our rudder design very stiff aluminum. Ok in Henderson Bay we lowered them to 60ft and 80ft we were in the fish big time back and forth with different lures, spoons, flies, you name it. We noticed a slight angle at the rigger, no happy with that we dropped each rigger 10ft, so at 70 & 90 we went back and forth with nothing to show for it. So we then decided to do a test so we knew of an area that gradually gets shallow and has a sandy bottom. So we headed towards shore at the same speed, at 70ft our 90ft rigger hit up and 55ft our 70 rigger bumper up, very disappointed to say the least, so our diver idea was s failure along with our idea of the angle of the wire = X amount feet down, I was off by 20 some feet!! I really was stumped other than I need to let 20+ feet of wire to get the results we were looking for. Les is spot on with the currents playing a big role in your depth. This year I purchased Mag 20's of a fellow LOU member so I can run TroutMans 16lbers when he gets to making them, I have purchased 12lbsers but I only had mag 10's and didn't want to ruin them. So I hope this will cure some blowback, plus I'm going to purchase either a hawk or smart troll at the show this year, just to see where in the hell my balls areLOL. PAP

Congrats to Grammy, at 80 years old both of you are blessed to have each other!! I no longer have my parents let alone grandparents, all passed before their time due to cancer So when I see or hear of such things it really hits home, and it makes me think, I wonder if they how lucky they are, I'm sure most do?? -
Something like what said above has put many yotes to sleep, I carry 2 guns my shot gun and my 25/06 kinda a little big but I don't track to much. I'm not a pelt keeper. 10 years ago soon to 11 years ago LOL I knocked one down with my 220 swift, a far shot but blood stopped and tracks kept going, one night my brother and I were want to hunt the same golf course and he said let's take the 25/06 and sure as shyt one come out about 200+ I settled the crosshairs a little above the front blade touched of the Ruger off and he never moved. We were in a 3 day contest that our gun club puts on every year and we took first place with a weight of 43 1/2lbs!! I took my fish scale and it read 45lbs I new we were in the money but had no idea we'd taken 1ST place and $1800.00 that was the highlight of my yote career!! With out my light man just letting the hue of the light to get to the dog I don't believe we would have bagged this wise old guy!! God bless my brother as he's no longer with us due to cancer, 61 years old

In any of the above post, is the outrigger worth the $$$ to say I need these to improve my catch, when you can run boards 50 to 100 feet off each side. Or is it more of an ornament to the boat?? I have access to a set but it looks like a nightmare unless there a 2ft of less chop? Most vids. I watched the water is like glass, is there a limit to the outriggers. Thanks for any input!!

With all the positive talk about the 4 strokers working so well really has me rethinking my thoughts. I always had outboards till I sold the White Night " Troller boat with 88SPL outboard" then I got a 19ft Sea Ray with a 140 I/O needed to rebuild the motor, then the out drive. Used the boat for 3-4 years because I bought a 22ft cuddy with a 350 I/O which has really tested my nerves and patients and foiled my bank account. My next vessel will defiantly have a 4 stroker on it!! Then I can chuck in the corner, troll bags buckets, bracket for kicker plus all the $$$ in aux steering. I'm sure with the demand for auto pilots, with these motors running there will be a auto pilot designed to operate with the bigger out boards, and won't be a need for the servo motors so cost should cost less!! LOL yea right. I could easily remove the I/0 and they custom make brackets to hang a Outboard on. Get rid of my V8 and could keep my fuel cell where it is and that would give me 4ft more area in the back where the dog house used to set. Nice to dream!!!

Hey gotta question for the more advanced trappers than I. What's the best way to trap a fisher. The dumb ass Pa. game com. stocked these critters to control the turkey population, but 2 have found my uncles chickens. They ripped those chickens to shreds, what's the best way to trap these guys. I'm thinking a box with a 220 conibear, only I noticed from his trail cam. Pics. Is I'll need to set the trap further in like 8"s seems like they like to reach for things, and I want his head in there not snap the trap with its paws. Oh I'm going to use a box with 2" reliefs for the springs. I guess chicken would work for bait!!! LOL thanks PAP

Thanks I will give this a shot, I have had my knots come apart while casting, so I tried the dab of super glue, they all failed, I believe the glue interacts with the fluro. I've reverted to shorting up my fluro to the length of the rod and been using a #10 spro and a #8 spro, I've never had eyes fail and ect. I use 30# power pro, to blue label Seagar, fluro.

UUH ya that definitely works!! Hope you catch up with a yote, I would love to see the smack down the 17 puts on a yote!! Savage claims it would be a good dog gun, I'm not sold on that yet. They claimed the hmr would do the same? We all know with the hmr with a perfectly placed shot, but when was the last time that happened. I don't know of to many guys that said the yote was standing broadside for 30 sec. Let alone trying to place a vitals shot. LOL. Good luck perseverance will always prevail!! PAP

Justin where did you find the how to for F&g knot? I didn't see it on animated line knots how to. Thanks PAP.

How does it mount, like a bolt through the middle, or a clamp you tighten up? You mounted it to a Bimini top? How hard do your boards pull? I know I mount them to my Bimini top way to weak for that, my pipes are to flimsy for that, I have mine mounted to the original pipe and for the other I duplicated the original and put a Cannon pulley on the other, my problem is there designed to work with them being on the pipe so the rotation putting them on opposite sides of the boat to keep them comfortable, or the same side of the one has to work counterclockwise, it's uncomfortable to crank in on port side as there's nothing to hold on to. Sounds petty but when it's game on and you need to retrieve your releases its a pain in the arsh. LOL

My boats name was dads boats name also, 1 WORM long story but I'll shorten it up. Dad used to say only need 1 worm to catch a walleye after that he used the white belly part cut it into 1/2"Wx2"L kind of resembles a pork rind. He used to hammer the eyes up in Quebec Canada until the no live bait or fish parts can be used. There was this little boy fishing off the dock, everyday when we came in he wanted to see and just druel over our catch, so dad asked if he wanted to go with tomorrow, he didn't understand us, looking blonde and blue eyed, dad ask his name in Pa. Dutch and his reply was in German I'd love to, and he was out of worms also. Dad told the little guy you only need 1 Worm, I will show you tomorrow. The next day the little guy was at the dock already, I said today you 2 fish and I'll run the boat, so I motor out to our honey hole. Dad shyts the little guy up and he only had 3 worms along. One for me one for dad and one for Eric, was his name tore the worm in half and threaded it onto a jig head and to the bottom the guys sent there jigs while dads showing Eric the ropes of jigging dad hooks an eye and our white belly meat was on the hooks. I wish I had a picture of Eric's first catch it was priceless, we limited out and back to the cabin we head, his father heard us and said well, Eric showed pop his stringer, and he nearly passed out. So Eric's dad asked what did you use for bait? Eric replies 1 Worm Well that figures upside down!!

I did uncover some interesting info to all the .17cal. Lovers out there, I put two & two together and came up with this info!! Hornady and Savage are working together and it's been tested. The older 1940's and newer wildcat, cartridges that surpassed the 220swift the Remington 17 and a 17fireball cartridges reloaders have no bullets to reload with other than their own, hornady told savage if they could build a 17 cal. Center fire cartridge and it took off they would make the 17cal. Bullets to also suit the earlier wildcat rounds, this has excited the guys of the wildcat 17. To purchase the rifle in hopes that hornady would keep their promises. They have used the 223. Necked it to .17 and some military composite rifling so it wouldn't be another barrel burner. Hmm, let's see what comes about. I also found price tags for these guns $550+ for a non camo stock and up to $640 for a name brand camo stock, and you thought the military is secretive!! HA HA LOL, this is like the show "Finding Hitler".
