  1. Yea, gator you alway have one in every crowd, my problem I think is defiantly city minded, yesterday it sounded like the ISIS was training in Delbert's hollow, Delbert was a great man, a local butcher that we all knew first name basis, well there was way to much hell fire for me to stick my nose into. It's been quiet for 2 days but honestly I was in a little fear because the kids were scared, I moved them into the basement which is finished. If I can't figure this out he was well within a safety zone, but I'm not sure that pertains to target shooting. Even my neighbors wife come running over, she's one tough cookie, I mean this was close. So this will need more attention payed to this event!! Gator your a good man always trying to put the good forward. I admire your ways of thinking, I would like our paths to cross someday I'll always read your posts to find the middle of every situation. But I will say I was a little well, pretty much in mental overdrive to calm my daughters down as they were scared, it was rifle rounds and semi auto's at that. Pa did pass the use of semi auto's but I don't or hope not for big game, the rules were wrote for this years gun season before they passed this semi rule, so I would "assume" it's not for the 2016/17 season. Will keep you "POSTED" LOL
  2. I love your way of thinking I was in you same shoes, this year hopefully will be my year to fish instead of work. There wasn't a one square inch that doesn't have my finger print on it somewhere!! It takes a lot perseverance to keep going but we do!!
  3. That's cool, I was hoping it would get resolved in a peaceful manner. If it didn't the old saying you can run but you can't hide, would be the only thing one could say about this situation!! There are folks from all over that use this forum.
  4. Is it raining up there also? I hate it when it rains, have to rely on sight!! Many times they have sneaked right behind me, I just caught a flick of a tail or ear.
  5. Yup, that's the lake, funny I remember going there in dads 69 International pickup 4x4, some of the mud puddles were deep and you needed 4wd to get a 14ft flat bottom on the water. I think dads motor was a later 50's Elgin LOL but I remember it had a gas tank that you carried separate. Those were the days!!
  6. X2, she was so busy bashing Trump, and calling us, that right the people that vote, a bag full of deplorables!! Even "Monica" oop's I mean Bill said you better get your snotty ass out into the working middle class people's area, Trump is going to get a head, she thought there was no way in hell Trump was going to beat her!! I guess " We the people" weren't going to settle for another 4 years of the Obama/Clinton regime!! Congrats to all the USA citizens!! I guess our country is more divided than I thought, were her last words LOL no shyt Lady!!!
  7. On Monday the Pa. Gun season opens!! Yea, with all these brute bucks you guys have been hunting, I'm like in the state of withdraw!! LOL.
  8. This I just noticed today!! While feeding my chickens I noticed something bright yellow in the back of my property. A few months ago I saw these 2 guys walking up my property line, so I went out and said, what are you guys up to, Oh we are surveyors, O really what are you surveying, they said the right away for the power company, O ok then have at it fella's, well they lied they were surveying a lot off in the back of my house which I own. Today I walk up to poster nailed to a tree in a line down past my neighbors, which is relations to my wife's side of the family, not to mention facing my house. Now I'm Po'd some jackass put posters on trees that belong to me. At first I was Flaming mad to say the least, but I have another avenue I'm going to take. My property borders his on 3 sides, and my land was purchased before the you can not, not refuse a right away, that's how I got the 5 1/2 acres so cheap. He has to get approval from me and my next door neighbor and from the other side the land angles to a point that he would need my approval for a driveway right away it's only 20 ft and I gave the power company the right to put a pole with a transformer on. So he's screwed, last name of this dude I can't even pronounce!! Lol. Now I know you can't legally nail a tree stand in a tree, so I'm going to look into the legality of nailing signs on a tree. This move in bastard isn't getting the best of me!! I lived here my whole life and no move in is going to push me around!!! I know this doesn't pertain to you landowners but I thought I'd share this with you guys. PAP
  9. Now that's the icing on the cake!!
  10. Thanks Les, that pretty much seals the deal for me!! We have a guy close to home and used to do all our local marinea's work which is huge for this area. So I had to beg him just to make a few repairs, to hold me over. This guy was top notch also, but doesn't want to crawl around on boats anymore, and now he's into taxidermyLOL.
  11. Thanks Les for some insight on the quality of the product. Sounds to me like it would be good to make this journey on one of my trips back home and the pick the OL' Girl up on the next trip up to the BRCG!!
  12. Well, maybe the trip would pay for itself in the long run, I'll give him a call guys!! Thanks, that many ya's and no na's kind of makes ya think a little, you know what I mean
  13. All my 7600 pumps I took out the trigger mechanisms and sent to California at have better triggers put in them. They sent me my new trigger mechanisms and they have 2 1/4# pull, and they sent 2 other springs one for match shooting at 1 3/4# and one at 3 1/2# the original was terrible. I later heard there were problems, I was ahead of the time LOL. Now I never heard about the 700bdl.
  14. Hell ya Gene, that's a dandy buck!! Gongrats on your insight of our world and your hunt!!
  15. Yeeaaww that's far, I guess I'll have to find someone a lot closer, damn!! Thanks anyway! Oh my man came through for me that's a plus.
  16. GillT what your saying is the way these riggers are rigged, looks simple and the wire is doubled, almost like a half hitch and pulled tight, the heavier the weight the harder it works in favor of the knot. Neither of your answers are wrong, just when your looking for every little aspects to eliminate resistance the wire knot is the way, and if you tear off and don't have a kit with, there's no problem. Thanks guys for the input!!
  17. Thanks Les for the â˜Žï¸ # How far is that from Water Town? I would like to have my top done the same as original except I would like a drop curtain installed where the aft zippers to.
  18. I was wondering how do most of you attach your rigger ball clip? I read a few articles saying how you rig your ball snap makes a difference in your blowback, what's your take on this. I bought a set of Mag 20's and these snaps are attached without the cannon terminater which has a lot more of a solid area causing resistance in the water. These are just a double loop and back through with a longer tag just in case. These riggers came from a fellow that helps a lot of charter captains, and is working on getting his own show in the near future.
  19. Troutman's torpedos are sweet sleek torpedo type weights that just plain works, no frills you get what you pay for, which is a great priced weight, I painted mine flat black. They track excellent with little to no blowback running 12#ers and no blowback with the 15#ers. Also the man is a pleasure to deal with. Troutman's got my business. #
  20. I use the Triple 7 loose powder and the barns black plastic sabot, hollow point 200 grain pill, I was using the two pellets then my buddy Dale came over while we were shooting and said here, try this so I did out of the 3 shots of the loose powder all 3 bullets touched each other, where the 2 pellets shot on a slightly bigger pattern, but well within the killing zone. Last year I shot one at 183 paces stone dead, so I just continued using it.
  21. Talk about dasavoo, how about that!! Congrats to your son, and compliments to you for showing so much excitement towards your sons kill!! You should have a great sense of accomplishment!!! This kind of thing doesn't happen with out the 2 of you working together to get the job done!! Not to mention dealing with the elements of Mother Nature!!! Great pics, great day!!!!
  22. My god man, every buck gets bigger, that is a once in a life time buck. "Maybe" it seems every time you turn around another monster get his photo taken!! Congrats man you deserve that guy!!
  23. I didn't know it's in Pa. Cool lures!!! PAP
  24. OMG, Legacy, that's enough to make a man cry!! If only you were set up to shoot the lane between the corn and fence row. To all the guys out there battling Mother Nature today I don't even know what to say?? Other than you better have a good heater in rolling tree stand, on days like this I resort to my tree stand made by Ford LOL. I know there are first time young hunters out there, I remember well, it was so foggy you couldn't even drive to our stand, it was raining like hell and we had 6" of snow on the ground during the night it went to 40-50 degrees you couldn't see shyt, just the opposite of what you guys have going on today. Being Mr. Tough guy I went come hell or high water, 2hrs later I was scared the fog got worse, now it's pouring cats and dogs. I built a lean to out of small trees and branches and put a thick layer of hemlock branches over my shelter and just stayed put. I remember my dad saying if I ever got lost just stay in the area where I was going. There weren't cell phones in 1975, soon the wind started to blow and the fog got a little better enough for me to figure out where in the hell I was and I walked home. To the young guys, we as now are parents understand how you feel, just be careful, there's no deer worth frostbite or being scared because your lost or freezing!!
