  1. That is to freaken cool guys!! Now that's what I call, start em out early!! Congrats to your family style hunt!!! Awesome pics also Kevin!!!
  2. If I go through with this, they make phone holder for auto's, plus if I get a tablet I'll make a holder. Velcro works wonders.
  3. Very nice set up, with the 300 mag, is it built off the H&H model? I have something like it but not custom built, it was heavy so I put a synthetic stock on it. When I bought it in 1988 it had a laminated stock, beautiful stock, but heavy, now when you squeeze the trigger you know you shot a gun, wow, it's overkill for deer hunting around here. I rarely shoot past 100 yards, my brother had this gun all over Canada and Illinois where they leased land off a farmer. I chose the H&H for reason such as the tapered shell using less powder and smoking out past the Weatherby chambered in the 300 mag. The best performance the gun showed was when we loaded 165 Sierra BT's for deer/ complete overkill it destroys the whole front blade, but you don't need to walk after your deerLOL and for moose & elk we messed around with a bunch of 180 grain pills and the Barnes bullets shot damn near the same as the 165's. My 300 win/mag is in the long action cartridge. All in All I'm pleased with its performance. I just have the Leupold scope VIII 4.5 X14 mounted. You sure do have yourself a beautiful peice of iron there!! Again congrats to you and your daughter!!! PAP. (MIke). Take care & stay warm.
  4. Congrats Sean & Sierra, what a father daughter moment!!. Perfectly placed pill on Sierra's bull, again congrats to the both of ya's!! May I ask what did you use as a firearm?

    Pink rod

There's a guy on here, his name is Nick, goes by Ruff Rider. He has his own thread going and his wife fishes with him, he has all pink rods. Go back to the beginning of August and you can see the rods. He has like a on the scene at the scene thread, with lots if pics. Get a hold of him to see how he got the pink rods. Good luck with your rods.
  7. With all the technology today, why couldn't they make a mock scenario, with most species in it and study that situation for a few years. Like what Cabelas has in their fish tank but on a much bigger scale, add those shytin clams and see what happens. I'm no biologist but what happens if other species eat these things, nothing? Because its genetically altering just the mussels? Man has screwed up more things on planet earth than one can possible imagine!! I say approach with caution before screwing something else up!! Now your messing around with your upper beliefs, what ever your choice may be.
  8. Man that's a mule, I doubt you'll drag that mule to far till your out of steam!! LOL!!?
  9. What size boat will this launch be able to handle? I thought that end is shallow? I was never there, so going off of what I thought I read about Otisco. With 19 acres there should be ample parking?
  10. Rick this would be a great read before the sale is off, right now $599 with 2 probes!! 1 rigger probe depth speed temp & 1 other probe, probably a speed & temp. He dropped the price to gather some $$$ up for another prodject.
  11. Some days your the windshield!! Some days your the bug??? Thanks Dan!! LOL!!! WTF?? Over
  12. That's the idea of it!! Today we are cutting meat ourselves, some of my buddies hunt in Ohio. They gave me and my uncle a whole deer cut into quarters. Dave wants me to make jerky out of his hinde, I said then I'll grind the front blades into hamburger, and the other hinde, we'll make the steaks. I cut the hind out into how the meat is like in sections, when I'm done I have 4-5 pieces then cut the steaks with the grain. I envy your lifestyle, keep up with the outdoor activities, & never say never. Stay warm, you guys might see some white stuff today, just north of us it's snowing now!! PAP
  13. Congrats to your hunt Kevin, did you kill a deer yet? This winter you'll be have surf & turf and for Thanksgiving a stuffed duck with a wild turkey, Man you could have a large spread of earth air and sea, for Tgiving. Take care and be safe out there. PAP.
  14. That'A girl, tell #1 son she's a keeper!!
  15. Cool, normal flow, haven't heard that statement all year!! Thanks for the update.
  16. So you didn't listen to three very important posts driven in your direction, you didn't start the motor in the old boat, which I suggested, then you blew off Hank and went off 3 hundred some hrs what could possibly be wrong, the most important part the block is F'ed up now!! YEEOOWW! Buddy. At least you have enough balls to say I F'ed up AGAIN!!!!
  17. I'll say the same, my kids dive into my sandwiches!! All the juices that come of the meat onions, peppers, plus the real butter I use to sauté the veggies and meat go into a sauce which seals the deal. I'm sure others have a little trick under their hat that suites their family. Mine wasn't my idea it's been handed down through the generations. JakeyBaby I'll bet your absolutely correct anyone who goes through the process to make chip steak knows what they want out of that piece of meat. I often said its all fun and games till you pull the trigger, now the work begins!! LOL. I wouldn't have it any other way!!
  18. That's fantastic whaler!! And with his girlfriend that's even better, maybe they'll make a fine fur relationship. My wife will help cut deer but I can't get her to hunt. Congrats to the both of them!!
  19. Just think of all the silver you have laying on the bottom of your favorite lake. Now 40 years later you can replenish your lost silver! I wonder if they're only going to bring the 44 spoon back. When Nautitroller came down to my house to pick up a tree stand he gave me some Sutton's I've never saw before, I was greatful for his bag of tricks, I wasn't expecting!!
  20. LOL don't ya just hate when that happens!! Best of luck to you, which ever way you choose to go. Your friend PAP!
  21. Holy shyt it's the real deal!!! History is repeating Its self
  22. Like the rest of you guys I do the same, my hind quarters I cut all the different ways the meat grains run, I get 5 different shapes and sizes out of the hind, that way you get the glands out also, since my girls love pepper sticks and love jerky it easy to tell which way the grain runs and I run the pieces over the slicer. First I freeze them just till their crystallized and firm, then I run over the slicer about a 1/4" when I pull them from the smoker their about a strong 1/8" and I use a sweet hot mix, usually in 3 1/2 to 4 hrs it's done, nice and playable. I hate when guys make it like beacon and it snaps off, the other hind get done in the same manner and the front blades get made into sausage and pepper sticks, the kids eat at it till its gone!! They love it. The loins, I cut off all the blue and slice into 1 inch discs and I peel and slice 2-3 nice size onions, melt butter in a big cast iron pan and get the onions like simmered down then a can of beer and the loin chops in together till it makes its own thick gravey, mashed potatoes and my own corn I blanched and froze and a jar of my pickled red beets. Now that's a meal fit for a king!! In my own little mind anyway!! LOL great to hear all the differant ways that people do up their own deer!
  23. Do you want the newer style or like the older mag 10A those only lift at max 10lbs or the new mag 10'STX that are super fast and can lift 25lbs?
  24. That's one hell of a buck Sean, my brother in law shot one this year on a farm not far from his house, no one has ever seen this buck before, it was a 9 pointer, with a inside spread of 23" and outside it measured 25 outside and a rough and old buck. By the teeth he said it was 5 1/2" to 6 years old. I'll have to get him to send me a pic on the computer that way I cold post a pick on this beast. Both your buck and Rodney's bucks is a buck of a lifetime!! Congrats men.
  25. But the smart troll will tell you where your dipsy is in depth/temp& speed, wich is why I'm leaning on the ST with today's lines out there, mono, hybrid lines, braids, and who knows what's next.I have every book Mark Romanack ever published, but there are situations where your on your own, trial & error mostly error. This is the areas I'd like to clear up. Marks books and app is this depth, at this speed, with this style diver but, with a probe on that line, it's telling you with whatever conglomeration you got going on, your lure/bait is this deep and at that speed. The way I see it, it will eliminate all grey areas in my peanut size brain!!
