Congrats to your sons first eye, problem is it's very addictive!! Last week I spent a lot of time up at my buddies camp on the Oswegatchie River, and talked to a lot of locals from Newton Falls area. I never thought about how blessed you folks are with all the waters there are in your state. Your north country is absolutely amazing. I did a lot of sledding years back, but never really took the time to honestly step back and look at the big picture. There's a hell of a lot more to NY than Lake'O. May many more eye's come to your sons creel!! PAP.

I was always under the thought that you really didn't want the rigger weight to be as noticeable as your rig, I've had many false releases. Only to find out my flasher, dodger took the hit?

Our local lake is way down at least 30-40 foot of shore line showing, the loading dock sit flat on the ground. Only little aluminumm boats are able to back way out beyond the docks, I can't because there is a 10" lip from were the forms for the pad end, I'll tear an axle out. Hope it gets better before the ice comes.

This is a steel!! And probably the Best Buy on LOU. That is very generous of you Prof T, I can't believe someone didn't jump on this, in case someone needed a power plant, could make a quick $300 and still be a bargin!!! -
X2, in between Stoney and Galloo you can see your lure on the bottom in 50ft of water and our boat casts a shadow the size of a house off to the side. I feel were in for a rude awakening!! There is no origin of life any more, we are working the food chain of life ass backwards and now we worked ourself down to the last bunch of alewives, that have not much to choose from in the way of food, but our fingerlings of the species that is our future target species.

What I find really disturbing is that the stores becoming more generic means when you make a special trip and they do not have an item you want to look at carefully before purchasing you wonder why they even bother having a store in the first place. Been burned by Auburn several times This is so how many time did Hamburg store advertise specials, that never existed!! I've had this happen twice, but I didn't get as pizzed as the guy along side of me did!! They advertised that they had the 17 mag on sale till there gone, open at 8:am, we left my house at 6:am 1 other car in the parking lot. Now this is the Hamburg store only this other guy came from Delaware and we were after the same gun, well I left the guy go first. 8:am they opened up and the 3 of us marched back in the gun area, nobody there, waited 10 minutes patiantly 3 more not so mean while there guys stocking shelves, finally we get someone to notice us. They guy said I want to buy the new 17 mag that's on sale, make a long story short, they didn't have any!! Maybe they ment the 17hmr I don't know but they wouldn't rain check us, give a $25 voucher let alone a $50 the other guy insisted they give him for his efforts to get to the store, he said I figured it would be 1 gun now were out but none!! You gotta be F'n kidding me none!!! I have gone down for Spro swivels notta. Fluro line ya the $45 for 20 yards, no North Land harness making floats, so ya I've made a few lost cause trips. Till I started calling with my list and it always seemed what I wanted most they didn't have. They advertise they carry Macks smile blades and carry their line of products, well if you call 3 rows of Macks 1" black blades, carrying Macks full line of products?? Like B.S. Says if you want to see before you buy and you go there and you see nothing, that really grinds my gears!!

For me there's no doubt that I would pull the motor and rebuild it. If the boat suits your needs? You have the lower unit rebuilt and you have new timing gears and new cam shaft and lifters, really you need some machine work, head, block, crank, ect. You have all winter to do it right. If the boat isn't worth it to you? There's always someone looking for a out drive you could sell. The more you run this motor the more damage your doing to the internal parts, and that's where the big $$$ comes into play. If Lake said its internal, him being a diesel technician or even higher up in the Diesel engine program, I'm pretty sure he's qualified to diagnose an internal knock on a gas motor. If you think you are capable of pulling the motor, and pulling it apart, that will save you a few bucks if this is the rout you want to take, then either have it assembled by the machine shop if they do that kind of thing or have someone put it together that knows what the hell there doing. Just some food for thought!! Best of luck to ya which ever direction you decide to go.

The Cabela's Hamburg store is only 45 min away, a little to convenient, LOL and a Bass Pro about 1 1/2 hrs away, Cabela's has a lot more stuff for the trollers and a great amount of stuff for the walleye fisherman. Where Bass Pro carries NortLand products, I prefer Cabela's over Bass Pro but that's me. I would imagine differant species of fish would pull one way or another. I was in both more than my wife knows!! Shhhhh!! Cabela's is way more oriented towards the deep water and fresh and some salt water. They also have there own brand of lures, that look as good as the main brand but a lot less money, but that's why the old saying, "you only get what ya pay for" stands true as far as Cabela's brand hard bodies baits are terrible, also Cabela's makes you think your getting a good price on any of their products, well that's not the case with everything, I buy most of my hard body baits at our local bait shop as they are up to a dollar less than the big box stores. I really don't know what to think with the two merging together. The last time I was in Cabela's you could tell something was up the shelves were bare, I asked a rep in the store what's up you have nothing, he said management only wants 35% of what's in the catalog. Well I might as well order it off the main store in Nebraska. With that said I'll use the mom & pop shops, at least they carry what good for the area waters.

Who on here has a Cabelas credit card with the points? I have a nice sum of points which equals a nice sum in Cabelas in store money?? Maybe go shopping quick. Last night on the news they claimed Bass Pro bought Cabelas for X amount of $$$ .

So for $599.00 you would have what a fish hawk does 1 temp 2 speed at the ball 3 another prob that could be run higher telling temp and speed ? Right then I could use one of four the 4 iPads that float around for a screen? Does it fill the iPad so you can see it from the back of my boat, like are the numbers larger than a cell phone

X2 PLUS catch and release, pull the female or the male till it gets back to the nest the gobies have it destroyed. You don't even s need hook on, just put a worm on the swivel and you'll catch a smallie. Guys talk about sportsmanship and ethics, well where the hell are they. Here's a prime example of no sportsmanship and no ethics if one calls this fun. One is only thinking about themselves and bragging rights, it's not that hard to catch a 6#er off the nest!!?!!
-
Totally awesome Buck, way to get jr into the scene!!!!
-
I agree BS. Word down here in Pa. Is already not good, the smallies aren't what they used to be, doesn't really matter what the reasons are, the eye fishing is tuff for the average person, now there talking cutting the salmon stocking, not a good pic. Painted for LakeO. I personally know 5 differant guys that pulled their campers out of campgrounds and looking towards Lake Erie or two of them got into Seneca already and caught more fish in a few outings then they did all year out of LakeO so??? Don't look or sound good.

Hey Lake if the motor is that far gone you can turn at screws till he is blue in the face and it will not help!! I strongly feel she has seen her better days. If she's puff the magic dragon out of the breather vent, defiantly not good, major blow by. I didn't know it's as bad as you say. He says it still back fires through the carb, the timing was way off, we are now in the ball park, a severely burned valve with act like that also. Just pull the the motor and have it rebuilt or purchase a good used one. I personally would rebuild the old one, then you know what you have. Write the rest of the season off and do it as the funds allow!! Been there done that. LOL!!
