  1. Congrats to you on your Muskie!!!
  2. X2- good thoughts there Les!! Naturally the one holding the biggest bag of hope is Mother Nature
  3. Hey!! Don't you have a set of muffs that the garden hose hooks up so you can run it in the drive way?? If not go get yourself a set they not that much!! They slide over the lower unit and over the water intake and that puts water to the motor I use mine all the time, and I use it to winterize my motor, put 3 gallons of RV antifreeze and a bilge pump with a short piece of garden hose that screws into the muffs, start pump in bucket start motor and when she's pumping pink out the exhaust or till buckets near empty, Done no plugs removed and no rust build up from condensation!! Next year hook up muffs turn water on fire her up, good to go. Only plug I need to put in is the transome plug!! Done.
  4. X2, if you say $800.00 real fast it doesn't really hurt that bad. I like your way of thinking, I just went through something like this, this week, my buddy's GPS went south so I put a thread out on here, people on here said there was one on eBay for $150.00 well till the last few minutes it went for $225.00, a few days later I got a pm from a guy in MI said he had one and let it go for $75.00, but found out that eagle had the same puck but differant plug and differant colors than Lowrance, so I called lowrance and they told me their colors and what they did. I didn't get to eagle because LOU came through for me, well my buddy. He's older than I around 62, his son died from cancer and his wife had a stroke and needs attention 24/7. Financial he couldn't throw out his unit and buy a new one.
  5. I thought the same thing, zip ties!! Why couldn't you use a manual rigger dedicated just for temp. First try it on a rigger you use start at the ball and zip tie it every 10ft, yes it will be a pita at first, as far as adding cable use a light weight 50ft extension cord in the middle, I don't know how many wires are in the cable, but you won't need them all, temp power, what ever controls the temp on the unit, just say there's four wires but one or two control the temp. and sonar unit, then you might only need two. In this case you could use 16 gauge wire solder and shrink wrap and silicone goes a long way. If it works I have a manual cannon you can have for a dedicated temp rigger. I can screw around a lot for $800.00. Good luck with it and keep me posted!!!

Oh no the crack heads are at it again, carry your peace maker, I'd set up a decoy vehicle and wait, when your looking at the wrong end of a barrel it looks as big as a coffee cup, I wouldn't quit till I had them. My brother gave me his fly rod he had custom made before he passed away from cancer, if some low life stole that I'd be like a bog with a bone till it got resolved!!
  7. Finally someone speaks that was born before I graduated from high school, to many people speaking how good of fishing LakeO is, that have no clue of how it "was" I finally gave up on posting about fishing, those who think 2-3 fish days are good, OK THEN, I know it will never be what it was but it could be a hell of a lot better!! Had a guy come from the finger lakes come to my house to pick up a tree stand and tell me they have 30 plus fish outings!! When was the last time anyone had a 30+ fish week, unless your fishing worms on the bottom for gobies. 500-600 coppers getting the job done, really? 280-300 out on dipsys, is this the way of the future, put you boat in at one county and lock the bail down in another? LOL!!
  8. Thanks Rick for all your positive influence and to the T posts. Sadly yet another year comes to an end, where does the time go? This year the winds were terrible pretty close to the worse I've seen, at least on the east end. They say there's always next year? With a lot of luck from the fish gods and Mother Nature, next year will be better!!!
  9. Well I remember when the Conibear 110 first came out, I wasn't driving because Santa gave me a new bicycle and it even had a light on the front that lit up once the bicycles wheel got to a certain speed. 4:30 am I was up and dressed with my hip boots on basket on my back and a single shot 22 with shorts, my 22 you had to pull the firing pin back which was a round knob, that morning I didn't catch a muskrat in my new conibear I had a 241/2 inch brown trout, which must have been going with the water, I had set a hole at the edge of a old wooden dam, I was so excited I couldn't wait to get back home and show dad before he left for work at 7:15 am. And I needed to get to school. I made $480.00 that year so at $2.00 to $3.50 per fur do the math. I set at the time, "snares" on land over runs, muskrats, opossums, which were $ .50 a piece, raccoons, $13.00 man you were the talk of the town, as guys were running dogs at night. Guys knew where I trapped anywhere there was a swamp, coyotes were very rare at that time. My cousins still trap mainly yotes, and with foot holds and restraints, I can't rember 1 coyote that was dead before we got there, like said above they just sit there like my beagle waiting for a bone. I've heard of guys getting deer in their restraints, so they must be just milling along with their heads down, so I can see where this could be a double clutch, but then I think of all the guys out there archery hunting with little knowledge under their hat, and deer laying dead because of a bad placed shot. I highly doubt the trappers out there even make a pimple on a deer's ass compared to all the deer laying on the ground with a aluminum or carbon shaft in them. I used to archery hunt also and way more guys in the woods these day with good hunting ethics and guys can shoot much better now a days, but for those guys it only takes a few bad apples to paint them all as bad apples. They know what I'm talking about. These day anymore with multi-media you need to hold your tongue more and think what you want, carry on with your buisness and that be that!!
  10. Well the way I see it, my post got skipped, the third one down on page 2 where were these folks, they make a living off the results of what happens with Lady'O, plus I strongly believe a on line survey would flood the scene, even if it's just from this site because it's directed to anyone who belongs to LOU, the deer hunting vote might not have worked, because it wasn't directed to each and every hunter, where this is, but where were the mom & pop tackle shop, the local lure makers or anyone who's lively hood is made solely off what happens to the shape of the lake? Like Skipper stated some of us are 4 1/2 hrs or more away, and to dive 4-5 hrs to go to a meeting, that if the locals of the area and those who LakeO is there lively hood is who should be there with the most interest of what the hell is going on, right? or not?
  11. Yea buddy that's defiantly the mean Gene walleye machine, board at Henchens!!! Glad you you got a chance to hop on board!!!, now I'm jealousLOL!!!
  12. As I read this thread I can't hardly believe that all the mom & pop tackle shops and lure makers and everything or anything that pertains to drawing fisherman to an area on the lake being Northeast to the furthest part west of LakeO, do not attend these meetings?? Isn't this their lively hood? This sounds to me like people aren't attending their own job interview. On here people sound disgusted, with the king fishing, many are New York residents, so driving an hour or more was to much to ask? If I'm all wet with my way of thinking just disregard my ludicrous talk! I will feel no disrespect from anyone!! I just can't believe this no show.
  13. Absolutely fantastic fish, aren't you on the Canadian side??
  14. Yea, I'll say so. Damn that's a slammer!!!
  15. Very cool, when are the walleye shirts coming outLOL
  16. "wishinfishin" Let the fur fly, 10-4!!!
  17. Wishinfishin, your a good man with an open mind, I know who you were referring to with the statement, "just because he's a newbie, doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to rant like an ass" I take no offense to that,so carry on. In your post you spoke for us all of us. Please accept "our" apologies?? I'm not. Again I take no offense to you personally, so no sweat put your paper towel down. I joined this site in 2012, one or two things I learned about people is my generation see's life through a whole different pair of glasses. I learned that there are times you need to hold your tongue. In the beginning I would of never thought in my wildest dreams that there is so many tree huggers, anti kill people in this world!! One of the reasons I'll survive off the land while many will starve to death, if this countries power or "processed foods, and frozen dinners ever come to an end!!! This guy needs to think twice and speak once. I have no apologies for this guy, do I dislike him no, probably buy him a beer in a hotel once he calms down. Truce men and carry on!!! This is a great thread so let's keep it going!! Your friend the PAP.
  18. Not for nothing Pap that is a kick ass piece of American generosity. Hopefully our paths cross one day. Well Nautitroller, and I have been in touch with each other, just so happens I have what his son needs. Last week he made arrangements to meet me at my house. Last night Nautitroller rolls up my drive way a little after 7PM, I showed him the tree stand and it's exactly what he wants and my bow, my brother in law shoots competition bow, and was sponsored by GoldenEagle. Every year he gets their newest hottest bow, and I used to get the new older versions. At the time it was the top of the line, and just so happened we both have the same drawl length!! He was very happy, and so was I, as I was able to get a father and son together on a hunt. I would give just about anything to have one more day with my dad!!, we worked out a deal so there would be no money involved. He wanted to pay me for the stuff and I said no!! But I could use some fishing goodies, I need a few smaller versions of dipsys so make that happen and we're squared up!! So Nautitroller proceeds to give me the dipsys and some Sutton spoons and a Alpena Diamonds. Also his favorite fly made by Iron Duke. Now we go out to his car to put "his" stuff in his car, and this is where the goodies started, he brought me 2 bottles of wine with really cool bottles one had a big trout like fish jumping out of the water with a fishermans line and fly in its mouth and the other had a duck of some sort, I was impressed with the bottles, some fresh bright orange fish fillets, some mountain beef tender loin, and some I think he said beacon sausage!! I felt more than pleased with the whole deal!! Plus I asked if he would take me out fishing? Absolutely any time just let me know!! Plus he said middle of October would be better on the account of lodging. I cannot wait to fish Lake Cayuga!! I think and know there were 2 very satisfied men in my driveway last night!! We shook hands and see ya in October!!!! An old saying I keep in the back of my little mind, you'll catch more bee's with honey than you will with vinegar!!! PAP
  19. Talk about price gouging!!! I lent my 15hp "game fisher" Sears version of 15 hp Force, so I ordered a prop for the motor, asking no questions, yea, order me one, prop came a few days later $100 plus shipping. WTF I only ordered 1?? Right!! YEP that's the price of a piece of plastic. I told the guy you break it it's one Ben Franklin to replace the prop, so be careful you don't wreck it!! This is highway robbery!!
  20. I would put a plate on the inside to help support the bracket, while dispersing the stress over a larger area instead of just relying on the 4 bolts with washers. I did this as I need to run my kicker at pretty good pace to push my 22fter at 2.5 mph. I have a older Fiberglas cuddy and she weighs up there. I put a plate on the inside and that transome doesn't move a bit.
  21. X2, I feel for the the guy, the old saying "the faster you go the longer it takes" fits this scenario to a T. I'm pizzed, and it's not my motor!!
  22. Is the motor a 4cyl. I have a 3.0L in a 17fter, most all four bangers use a 19 pitch. When I first got the boat it had a 15X21, boat took forever to get on plane, called our local Merc dealer he said go with aluminum, why aluminum, first if you hit a rock it won't destroy your lower end on your outdrive, second is, they are lighter so they spin up much faster using less force. Yes, I would mount a Bracket on the transome
  23. AAAHH the good OL trib season is here already, please read the rules of this site about naming skinny waters before someone starts an all out war again. Please crop your pics also, these are very sacred lands to the locals and they have a right to be.
  24. It takes all kind, I heard through the grapevine that, the Pa. Game comm. brought coyotes into this area to keep the deer population down, at the time if you didn't shoot a deer either your blind or you never got out of your heated, motorized tree stand, I mean they offered up to 3 doe tags, I was told that there was 3 major insurance companies footing this bill. Well it worked because if don't do your homework during the summer, your hard pressed to shoot a deer around here anymore. It took 10'years but they managed to make the deer pretty damn scarce, and it got so built up around here, 1 crack of the barrel and all the deer are in the developments, then they are safe, they won't leave their safety zone till it settles down. Oh by the way my brother lost the battle with cancer, 2 years ago this month. I had it made with him, I can't get around anymore, after 3 back surgeries later, I don't trust going by myself anymore.
  25. They look awesome Jeff, I see a few must have colors,
