Hey guys I'm looking for gps head for a good friend of mine he has a older LX15, I'm looking for a LGC 12W. If anyone has one laying around or knows someone who has one, please let me know!! Thanks PAP Oh the gps plug must be a 4 prong connector. Also I found out that a EGC 12W will interchange. Maybe this will produce a lucky shot in the dark. Thanks guys for any help

Your welcome guys it's my pleasure, I've been fishing LakeO Henderson area for 30 years, I can't get up there as much even though we have a camper in the Black River Camp Grounds. I fell three years ago off the ladder while power washing the siding and fell flat on my back on the air conditioning unit on the ground and busted my spine off in the opposite direction you normally bend, I now have 4 artificial vertebrae and they took my guts out to put a plate inside my spine as well as the backside of my spine along with 8 screws and 2 pins. Had to learn to walk again. It's a tough road. I'm physically disabled it just don't go so easy for me. I find this site the best therapy for me if I can help one person, that's having a tough go of it, and I can help, that makes me feel good, like I have a part of fishing yet, which is my passion. I have a 22ft Sea Ray I didn't make it up this year due to complications but next year we'll give em hell, this year you guys rocked!! Good luck with the rest of the season!! Oh I don't have a probe either, but I will some day. LOL your friend PAP!!! -
I saw were a guy built the transome as long as the shaft!!! Opps
-
don't build it to high, just so the cavitation plate is below the transome. Thanks Hank !!
-
Well that is definatly differant LOL!! Before you go building up the transome you want the prop below the boat otherwise you will experience cavitation, no water for the prop to dig in. It's seems like the water is hitting the motor and it's directed up the shaft, is the motor locked in place, not like there's a lot of space between the transome and the motor?? Maybe tilted back? I'm shooting in the dark right now. A better pic. Would be from the side of the transome, out of the water.

Take the stiffest 2 rigger rods you have, now turn them into dipsy rods, find were the marks are that you want to fish, just say 80 ft. Troll at 2.3,in your 80ft depth with just your ball keep letting cable out till you bump up pick 5 foot of cable up and move your speed to 2.5 watch your cable angle and the humming sound, mostly cable angle. Now bring your cable up hang all your stuff out and duplicate the same thing 2.5mph/70-75ft of cable out, get 2 mag dipsys they have a dive chart right on the back. Comming the opposite direction keep a close eye on the cable if it's angled harder, slow up, if less speed up if no action drop your ball depth at 2-3ftintervals if angled hard, you might only gain a foot or two with the blowback, keep doing that till you get a strike, in the same sence keep in mind you don't want to get your gear snagged on the bottom. Use your cable as a guide!! a good eye and trained ears don't need a probe. But they are nice!!! More precise!! But you'll be in the ballpark Good luck!!! -
Did you use the green sleeve locker? That stuff works great and they claim it will make up to 0010 great stuff, we used that in alternators, housings that a bearing spun in the houseing!!!

If the valve lash is to much or basically to tight it can cause the engine to be in a under a load type scenario. I've even scene motors back fire through the carb. I don't think the coil is bad but there's really no way to check them, years ago guys had coil testers but over the years they went to the way side. Personally I would go with a oe coil these aftermarket ones, I've seen to many fail early to feel comfortable putting on auto parts store HY Fire type coil. Ok so there's two ways to adjust the lifter, "valve lash" motor is cold or the motor is hot, I do the cold way it gets it so close it hurts, then adjust them while motor is hot if it's necessary, but it can get messy of you don't have a set of these clips that go over the oiler hole on the pushrods/lifters keeps the oil from squirting all over. OK remove the plug wires, then the plugs & distributor cap. Crank the motor till the rotor points to #1 cylinder and the points are open, at this position both valves are closed. Make the adjustment to both valves, turn adjustment nut till all the lash is removed. This position may be determined by checking pushrod side play. Turn the push rod at the same time adjust the nut very slowly, when movement is felt on the push rod, "no slop and a slight movement like down" turn the adjustment nut 1 full turn, after you did this to both #1cylinders valves, crank the motor till its at #2 cyl and the point s are fully opened repeat the processes at #2 then #3&4 I assume it's a 4cylinder? Even if it's a 6 the same technique is applied. The point gap is .022 so might as well check that right away, just make sure the lobe is dead center or at its highest point, you'll see what I mean and you can turn the motor easy with no plugs in. Set the plugs at .035. Set your idle under 650 rpm so your not in the mechanical advance, then set timing at 8*BTDC that's after you put all the plugs and wires and distributor cap back on, listen to make sure you don't hear any rocker tapping noise if so just give that rocker a tad more on the nut, that's why I like those rocker clips that stop the oil from shooting all over, you can do this with the motor running. From what my books say both type carbs the idle mix screw is from all the way turned in, it should be at 1-1/4 turn out. Hope this helps ya out!! PAP!! 👠🎣 If ya need any more info shoot a pm!!

Go on the pic web site they give all the dimensions and have one made or make one yourself, I did and it works great. ""Adventure marine" I cut out the templates out of cardboard taped them together and set it on the plateform and bingo, used the cardboard templates to trace and cut out aluminum and Welded them together works flawlessly.

Yea there's always an unforeseen problem, this can be expected when we fabricate our own!! I made my light bar also, welded tabs on my planer board masts on each side, and added 4 rod holders out of stainless tube stock 2 3/4" and got the angle of the cut off another rod holder with a tool designed to copy angles. Works great and only takes a few minutes to assemble. The wires for the lights I made up with a square trailer plug, just take 1 nut and bolt on each side and unplug the trailer plug from each other and lift her off. I was happy with it, so I was happy!! LOL saved me a lot of money compared to a pre-fab rocket launcher!!

. PS the slop I mean isn't the entire bearing they are loose naturally I mean the inner part that seats on the shaft. Im sure you know that but just making sure so you don't make yourself a lot of work for nothing. Don't be offended if you already know that!!! Also if the shaft is just a tad sloppy you can knurle the shaft so the bearing fit to OE specs. again.
-
If it looks blue/purple, take the new bearing there should be two differant sizes bigger for the back and a smaller one, the bearing itself should just slide over the spindle with just a tad of resistance, it shouldn't be sloppy on the shaft, this goes for either size bearing if it's sloppy on the shaft then you might need to replace the spindle. With the amount of play you have I would bet that's your issue!! It doesn't take much to cock the hub then one or the other shoe catches the drum and lock up the wheel.
-
I had the same issue 2 years ago they worked flawlessly from Pa. to camp, unloaded boat and pulled away the back tire on the left siting in the truck drug in the stones, wtf? So I backed up and no problem, fished that day loaded the boat and I needed 4low to pull the boat out of the water, back tire dragging? So I backed the lining off went back to camp, jacked er up same shyt, so pulled the hub "just put new bearings in all 4 axcels before I left" but what I noticed was the front shoe at the bottom the lining was all cracked like by the rivet that holds the lining to the shoe, so I swapped the shoes from front to back and issue went away. Over the winter I took noticed that the shoes were like sloppy on the hub. I replaced the pins and the springs and the keepers on all 4 axcels and never had an issue since. The cylinders were all new, so there was a issue before I bought this heap of shyt. Part I couldn't figure out is why just 1 axcel? all new lines cylinders but the original shoe keepers and springs. I don't know if it was those pins and keepers but they were rusted bad and the keeper hats were wore bad almost to the point they just barely held together. What sucks is you need to pull the hub to access this stuff, l would check the play in the bearings first for slop in them before you pull the hub, like Skipper mentioned!!! I also had the hubs turned and all 4 were a little out of round but the back left was the worse, that hub was out of round the others just cleaned up with very little amount of metal removed to clean up nice. Always something with this boating activity. LOL hope this helps. PAP

X2, I have 1100 Remington. Browning gold trigger, I forget the model# in a 10 gauge auto, not much problems with the 1100 a O ring on the receiver breaks every few years, which I have spares. The Browning even though it's gas operated it still kicks the shyt out of ya, but you can reach out there, it's not much ahead of the Remington 12 gauge 3 1/2". Not to mention the price of 10 gauge shells, and the gun itself was hellish expensive compared to the Remington 870 in the 3-3 1/2" 12guage
