  2. Guys I got a chance to buy a brand new cannon mag 10 A with auto stop worth, I met a couple at a 4th party and her dad passed away before he got a chance to use this rigger, still in the box, fixed 3ft fixed boom with base, not a swivel, she said make an offer, but I didn't want to piss her off I kind of got a feeling she was looking on the web pricing. What would you think is a fair price for both of us, mostly me LOL. Thanks for any suggestions!! PAP.
  3. Here's the word from a Merc Rep that was at our local marinia Beltzville Manor Marinia. I asked the rep all the guys are in this strait 30-40 sae oil. He said that's old school. We recomend 25w-40 Merc oil. I said now wait a minute I just bought a new Seloc book and the first words of the oil maintenance was DO NOT USE a multi viscosity oil such as 25w-40, so what's the deal here? He told me those books read word for word on the older stuff and as the newer stuff comes out there going to rewrite these books as they are getting shyt from the general public. Now this is what he told us The Shell Rotella oil in the 25w-40 is a special blend that has all the properties of the strait weight oils. This oil is a diesel recommend oil and their motors have the same properties as marine engines, and this oil being the 25 weight makes for easier starting in the colder temp and also gets oil to the top of the engine faster for the valve trane and naturally the cams shaft and the 40 weight to maintain oil pressure at lower rpm's or motors with a lot of time on it. The Merc oil is basically Shell Rotella in a Merc bottle which means more $$$ for the same product you can buy at Tractor Supply. So that's the order from headquarter!!! Also this oil has the older properties such as buffers that the flat tappet camshaft require, I forget the ingredients names, so I need to change oil in my 350 Merc and I'm going with the 25w/40 shell Rotella and also I need to change oil in my 3.0 merc. That I use to pull my girls on the tube a water ski's. Here's a little more info I had a hard time to get on plane with my bow rider, it calls for a 19" pitch prop, so I wanted to put a 17" prop on. "Henry our Merc dealer" said why don't you drop an inch and go with a 4 blade prop you won't regret it. So I did all I can say is WOW this boat jumps out of the water like a porpoise!! I got one for my LakeO boat also. I also gained a few mph's and my rpm's are in the ballpark! PAP.
  4. We Americans don't get your acronyms!! But we all understand WTF are you talking about, so could you please give us folks some idea what your trying to say. By the way Happy 4th of JLY!! LOL
  5. Thanks yes they all lead you to the same place except cold water tackle!!thats exactly what I'm looking for!! You guys rock!
  6. Thanks Les, yup now that rings a bell, would it be mad River sports?? Or is that guy affiliated with him? Or something like that?
  7. Does anyone remember the name or the person on here that had the cutouts for flashers and spoons I would imagine they were vinyls or computer cut outs. He had the fireworks pattern, that flasher we couldn't keep in the water!! We got tore off and that was the end. Then someone mentioned Fat Nancy's should have them, nope all sold out but the young guy made me two. I leant them to someone, now I can't remember who it was. If someone knows who I'm talking about please give me a shout!! Thanks PAP
  8. Was the tournament before or after the keep fish season or before the season. The guys did tournaments before season over at Chaumont Bay for years, now you have to work for them, and like stated above their really nice ones. My cousins father in law is a semi pro bass angler and my uncle were up last week and they had to work for them. Kitecs and cabin creeks real slow presentation. They worked the weeds but slid out to 30ft before the big boys started to hit.
  9. Not to the subject, with the distributer up front, is that a Ford motor? 5.0L is it a 302, that used to be the 5.0L I had for pickups and the 5.0L was a 302 cid but that seems lite for that size vessel? Now they are 4.6. They can be nasty motors though!! My uncle won many features in the small block modified division!! With a Ford 302 motor, you can twist them 5-6 grand no problem.
  10. For what it's worth I'd get a hold of Hank on here it's not that far from you to his place. The fuel your going to burn to and fro, he'll save ya in cost. I forget his number but others will chime in and help ya out.
  11. Wow that's a brown!! Get a hold of Gambler on here and order some of his spin & glows to go with your bells, they can't resist his spin & glows Riggs for cow bells!! not the best pic. But you can get an idea anyway.
  12. The kids are feeding them to many of those neon green night crawlers!! They have this bedding that turns night crawlers that fishes color, for real!! But I doubt that's the case. LOL
  13. WOW that is Freaken awesome, I got spoons from both these guys but never gave it a thought of combining the best of both worlds, Nick is the most talented artist I ever saw and Jeffs spoons are beyond the greatest spoon ever made!! You will kick ass and take names with "your" combination!! I guess if you don't use your head like I didn't you might as well be an ass on both ends!! Very impressed!!! PAP

    Fuel pump

Thanks thumb burn, for that piece of info about priming the fuel pump. My daughters are riding my ass about going tubing, well my 93-3.0 wouln't start used a lower unit oil pump filled a quart oil can with gas pumped till it got hard to pump. Hooked the fuel lines back up, VA!VA!VAVOOOOOM she fired right up, idles like a kitten. If I had not read your post I would have put a new pump on, I filled it from the tank connection up to the carb. I've never had one not pick the fuel up. But the his motor hasn't run in 3-5 years. Last year my uncle said if I tow the boat home I can have it, well I just got the paperwork done now she's mine, and she runs. THanks for the POST. !!!! PAP!!!
  15. It amazes me that the DEC has not dropped the creel limit back. The population is super low yet you can still keep 5 & catch & release when there's on the nest.
  16. I figured if you 2 ever hooked up that world be a force to be reckoned with!! Congrats to the both of ya!!!
  17. Awesome job there Jeremy, the kids look totally in awe , and their faces show the real story!! Smiles all around!! Thanks for taking the kids fishing. PAP
  18. Good luck Chas!! I'm pulling for ya, even if you make the top 10 that's a goal in it's self!! I'm sure you'll do better than that. You definitely have more time on the water, that's a big plus!! Good luck partner, and don't yell at your guys or they'll just sit down and eat sandwiches all day LOL.
  19. Thanks I tried to look it up but without the knowing the manufacturer it's a shot in the dark as to which is which. Thanks for the info. Thanks small boat, my father in law has a trucking business and all his trucks have Volvo transmissions in them, he orders them that way. He has all tri axels for road construction so they are way low in the box crawling over tough conditions sometimes getting pulled in & out by a dozer never did one tranny bust.
  20. I have heard this phrase used a few times on here mostly on bigger boats, not to sound dumb, I've been called a lot worse LOL but what is a velvet transmission? Do you actually shift this manually or is it like an automatic? Thanks for any input!! PAP, ps never to old to learn.
  21. Is that the real deal or a replica?? Either way it's awesome. I'm looking to get s replica done. Of a laker if I ever get up there, things are starting to look better for me to make the trip!!
  22. I used a 1" drill size, made a X on the bottom of the bucket and drilled a hole about ever 3"s Attach the buckets so they don't reach the back of the boat and get tangled in the prop or your rigger lines. Take a cordless drill along to make more holes in 4 areas where there aren't any holes if you think more is needed, I think I drilled 3 more holes in the areas that didn't have any, then I didn't need throttle on to get to 1.8,2.0mph,this doesn't need to perfect just so it's somewhat near the same, if you have a cleat midship I'd anker the rope from the cleat to your new rope handle, so the whole bucket lays in the water. Try to keep the buckets across from one an other, this will help keep the boat straight. This will anker you down to the water making the boat more stable in rougher seas, and this is where the longer rope to your handle comes into play buy not pulling the buckets out of the water in 3+footers, Hope this makes sense, or helps!! PAP
  23. Yea!! Thanks, he was the first thing I thought of!! That type of shyt gets swept under the carpet. He knows the temp at the "intake" - I just "ass out of me and you" assumed this is where he worked.
