  1. That's so awesome, congrats to the family of the boy and of course JR. To be that relentless at age 8 is unheard of anymore!! I'd be willing to say that he will make it to top in the world of tournaments, which in turns spells big Yankee $$$$. I'm sure you Justin were in a dazed state also to have the largest fish in your net, caught by one hell of a fisherman, and caught off your boat. Congrats to all that made this young man a moment of a lifetime!!!
  2. Is this the plant where Brian works?? "Gambler"
  3. 2-5 gallon pails with holes drilled in the bottom, remove handle & drill holes for 3/8 or bigger rope to make the handle, this will get you down in speed.
  4. Great job there Sgt. Did you get your boat to troll 1.8 or 2.0 yet? If so get a hold of Brian and get yerself some of his lake trout Riggs, they are nocking them dead with his Riggs. Gambler is his name on here and he's got a pile of pages, go to page 1 he's got all his stuff pictured there. Call him up and he will help you choose the rig for your area and depth!!
  5. Man that sucks to hear about a mechanical issue, from experience I can say that take the morale out of the guy's whether it shows or not. Sounds like day 2 was better but just not quality of fish, which might be part of the mechanical issues? Not having the faith of the vessel tends to play a big part of the game.!! Sorry this happened, but there's always next time.
  6. Nobody knows exactly WTF it is. It looks cut off strait though??
  7. It won't when there's no teeth to hook up with and make noise. Are you talking about the top of the unit kind of like the cap with a hole in it? To get those screws out try a pointy punch make a deeper punch mark on the outer space, edge of the screw tap the punch to the left till it turns by hand or another tool. Or try to get a Phillips screw driver into the screw while turning in the off direction. Those screws are stainless, so they are hard like a #8 bolt in hardness, also by giving the screws a few good taps to loosen up the corrosion around the steel and aluminum, work them back and forth with a screwdriver. Hope all is better with your outcome? But when they stop its never a good thing or a cheap fix!!
  8. Unfortunately the area that you see leaking is where the top gear set is, with no lube down below there sure ain't none up top, they oil from the bottom, this is why it's so important that you have new O rings to put in place everytime you split the case. I would say it's safe to say the upper unit is scrap, if your mechanicaly inclined you can rebuild the unit at about 1/2 the price of a new one $1800.00. The gears and shafts are around 6 hundred$$. There will be special tools you'll need to buy there no is way around it!! Good luck with it. Pap.
  9. OOOYYAAA!!!! It's 1 step away from a drug habit LOL
  10. You gotta put money in the jukebox box if ya wanna dance!! LOL.
  11. sure looks like a pre alpha unit count the splines and measure the shaft length. Try and find numbers to cross over, just pull yours and see what's up first!!
  12. That's the solinoid could you maybe get a side shot so I see the base and the pump. Thanks, this is 71 but like new
  13. A lot of the times it's just that the input shaft is differant, or like I said differant trim cylinders, FL if you could get a pic of your pump I might have one for you!! Also if it's the motor your local starter & alt. Rebuild shop should be able to hook you up with that. I used to have my own shop for 22 years and put many of pumps on for guys.
  14. Worse yet I was coming out of the hole and almost up on plane, when she just sat back down in the water, only would idle or it would shut off, thanks to my kicker we made it to shore and a nice man helped us out a lot. Thanks to the locals up there!!
  15. Had the exact same thing happen to me, hopefully it didn't eat the the top shaft gears up, that's what happened to mine, looks like you lost a seal also, probably a totally loss. I didn't have the money for a new one, so I bought a boat for $300 that I knew was just rebuilt and bolted that one on, made sure the gears and shaft was right before I purchased this boat the motor and lower unit is all I used and scrapped the rest. Good luck.
  16. XXX 222222!!!!!!! Best idea I heard yet

That's awesome Kevin or should I say that's awsome to the Misses Legg!! LOL
  19. Lol gotta love ya Gill !!!!
  20. They put one of those above the dam in Dexter on the Black River, last year already. I was stumped also in the beginning of the constitution of it. I think it's cool to see things taking place in little of the beaten path for the disabled. I can relate to this!!
  21. That's pretty gross, that paw looks like it was cut off with a cleaver, someone did away with the neighbors pit bull, or any dog. On one "hand" LOL its interesting, on the other it's gross. I can't see how a human could do this. I'm a avid hunter but somethings don't ride so well with me. Yesterday I needed to put down 2 of my chickens, due to old age and female problems with 2 of my layers, I did it but I didn't like it!! Yes I eat a lot of chicken, but my daughters made sure they got a proper burial, they said they don't mind eating the eggs but no way are we eating Henny & Penny, they were from our first flock. They made sure they went in the ground and not the freezer!! A lot off track but still to the point how could someone chop up a dog and dump it overboard?? Sick!!!
  22. Yea that sucks, that definitely breaks the code of honor of a hand shake, via land line 👎 âœ. 💩💩
  23. My Sea Ray has a switch for bilge and one for the Step Down pump although they look to be on the same level they are separated. I had to remove my fuel cell to clean and redo some wood work including the frame work for the tank. Plywood with the cut edges towards the elements??? Really so I ripped down pressure treated wood and sealed it. My two bilges are separated, I assume for the hatch and the head that funnels right to it. The bulk head for the step down is closed off. I would think that a oil spill wouldn't be able to get to the front, the reason my step down is solid is that's the piece that runs from one side of the boat to the other the wall that separates the cuddy from the other side tha has a sink and running water which could also be the reason for the step down pump. This also supports the dash and steering brackets.
  24. We have our camper in the BRCG so I have to go out the Black River, if the wind is coming out of the south west/east the lake is rolling into the river coming out, this makes for some interesting travel!! That area in the bouys is only 4/7ft deep, I have already bottomed out with my 18ftr, now that's a ride luckily I was trimmed up!! Now I usually trailer down to Sackets or Henderson. Anyway Congrats on your maiden voyage!! Glad to hear she handled LakeO with ease! Any pics or was it to hectic? Either way glad to hear everything went well!! PAP
