It's like that on every body of water across the country, it's the official start of summer and every swinging D-ck that owns anything that pertains to water is out there on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, it's been like that ever since I can remember. From here on in till the end of summer the lake will have more traffic between the rag boats and the weekend worriers, as guys plan their vacation days so they can fish LadyO.

I have a Elite 7 HDI with the hot spot premium card in it and it's close enough for me, I'm willing to bet like stated above something is not jiving with the other, I don't think navionics would produce a card that far off.

Totally awesome down to the nitty gritty, I'm so happy you got to do this hermit. This will definatly put air under your wings, and to have confidence in yourself again is a big part of it!! It will put the drive back in your ass to get out there more. Great to hear you caught fish and nice ones at that. Pretty cool Justin was able to contribute to your sucess, sorry to hear about your vehicle, but you were able to adapt and overcome that situation so you could continue on with your trip!! Congrats to your week long outting!!! Well done. I know first hand how hard it is when your out of commission for a few years, the older we get the more you think about what might happen when 20 years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about. Keep the ball rolling my friend. Tight lines to all.

Well said, what a appropriate name for the boat, my boat was named from my dads saying everytime we went to Canada, all I need is 1 worm to catch a walleye then he would fish the white belly meat cut into 1/4" wideX2" lengths, he killed the eyes on that bait, oh off a orange jig head, that was 40 some years ago. My boats name is 1worm. This is a great way to remember a man that touched many people's lives. Hats off to the BFF fly great idea!!!

When you squeeze the inline bulb does it get hard and stay at that. Sound like its pulling air on the rev. up and then slows down on the account of either not enough fuel or to much. When it slows down does it smoke like hell, if not then it's not getting enough fuel, I'd switch out the primer bulb, they can make you pull your hair out. -
WOW that's a sharp looking ride there fishtails, anyone that did any kind of repairing on boats, rebuilding the transome, replacing stringers, ect can relate to this and the guys who polish & wax can get a grip on the magnitude of this prodject. Amazing what a man can do if he puts his mind to it!! Congrats on your build!!!

Lowrance has 9" touch screen also, I have the elite 7 HDI which I love but the hds gen 2 is in the same money bracket and you can run the platinum cards where the HDI you can only use the premium cards, personally I'd have to see the differance, but that's one up for the gen 2. If I had to do it all over with these options it would have to be the Gen 2 touch. You just have to weigh the pros & cons. You will get so many differant opinions, it's a Chevy vs. Ford deal. Especially if your going through hull I wouldn't pussy foot around with the elite units. Good luck and make your own decision.

Do a voltage test at the alt, should be 13.8-14.2 volts, if nothing there, there should be a plug that goes into the alt. With the key on there should be power in both wires, you have to pull the plug out of the alt, if this tests out. Power to alt.in the plug, then it's the alt. If no power in one or the other 1 is to turn the regulator on, the other is the sence wire, that might be a fuse or a fused line, once you have power in both wires in the plug, push it back in and try another test at the power stud on the back of the alt again. If nothing again, test positive "hot" wire to the back of alt, if you have power at all the places, have the alt tested by a rebuilder, not a auto store. They are to dump to hook it up to the tester and use the correct plugs for that alt. Good luck!!!

Les has brought up a good point here, the differance between a 9.9 and a 15hp is the carb. My engine is a 15hp so I got a 9.9 lid now I fish the no motors over 10hp allowed LOL. Another thing I didn't realize that the weight was that minimal 2 strokes vs 4 stroke. Thanks Les!!!

I got a microwave/ convection oven at a yard sale. The microwave part took a dump so I got the unit for $15.00 you can fit 20+ spoons in there. We then bake the airbrush spoons after they dry also. Some we powder coat, then add the finishing touches to the spoon, clear coat is a must if you want them to last. I'm far from a artist but my daughter is amazing with a airbrush!! So I do the powdering and she does the fine tuning. LOL

A lot of good things have come about from this board, one thing we don't have is a person who has opened up a new concept to the planner board scene!! Like stated above keep at it, trial and error is the best way to overcome, keep at it. Just remember other folks on the water need to see it also, so they don't run over your set up. One thing for sure they will handle rough seas. Good luck with them!!!

IF all other circuits were closed, meaning off then the only thing that will be damaged, is the alt which is the only thing that can relate to reverse polarity, starter doesn't know polarity either, a fielded starter would act the same, as the fields determine the rotation and a permanent magnet starter would run in reverse, I highly doubt you had the key in the ON position so all that is activated by the ignition would be safe. Depending on the year there could be some inline fuses that could have been effected, meaning newer boats, that have a diode in a line to protect whatever it may be. Fire her up and see what doesn't work and go from there. I've been in the heavy duty starter and alternator business for 22 years. That's my take on it. There might be some others that will chime in here also. Just remember it's a boat, not a delicate computer system.

OMG, I wouldn't have the heart to sell that beauty, what a beautiful boat!! Good luck with your sale, I'll play the lottery this week hopefully I could take the girl off your hands!! LOL Is that a walk around also?

I stayed with a 2 stroke just for the weight differance. I can troll all day with 3 gallons of gas. I mix amsoil 100-1 never had a problem. That's what pushes a 22ft cuddy.

X2, I can't just use my main, way to fast 350 Mercruiser with a 17" pitch prop. I use a 15hp Evinrude to run 1.8-2.0 I'm 1/4 to 3/8th throttle and at 2.3-2.8 3/8th throttle for sure Leaning towards more depends on lake condition. Throw the bags in there I'm defeating the purpose of running a kicker. Being its a cuddy that helps with the front, not to mention all the stuff I have stuffed up front there.LOL
