That's awesome Justin, I would of liked to be there to see their faces when they saw how big they really are. I remember the fuel issue for you, quite the unneeded headache. Now that it's clean you won't get fuel there again, but why even with a boat like yours would they have to put a fuel cell in a area that you need to remove the motor to access the fuel cell?? I know they jam shyt in ever little nook and cranny, but really?? Your motor really looks clean, was it ever in the water? Take care Justin and good luck with your Charter buisness!!! PAP

Thanks Meathunter, I know they need to go through the testing for boating, but they can chauffeur with the best of them till I get everything set, then they take turns with the rods sometimes I need to assist but mostly I drive and net and the girls do the rest. That's on our little home town lake with no waves ect. It will be a hole new ball game for them this year!!! LOL

I certainly wouldn't double guess that statement!!! Who's the little guy in your profile pic.? Nice pic. I like to see the little ones in the pics. My girls are chomping at the bit to get on the lake this year. This year will be the first I'll be ready as soon as the water warms a little yet for some browns. I showed Emily the pic of the brown caught by the Saiff crew that really got her pumped. This year I'll have a partner ready to go when I'm ready. I've been waiting 11 years for this moment, I can't wait. Father & daughter team!!!

At least your being realistic with yourself. Does the inside look shyty as if that's the side your going with or does it look easier taking the outside off? If so by all means use a protractor to measure in the same distance all the way around. I used 4" cut off wheel, they sell real thin ones, buy a few of those and you'll need those white nose and mouth protection. You will look like a snowman, actually the last job I did I went and purchased those white painter suits. They are cheap and they keep all that dust off of you, that's a lot of cutting, I would take the trim off the back to see if there is a seam from where the top meets the bottom. Some do some don't. Either way that's where you need to split the top from the bottom. Once you get that far then take a pic, then we can see the next step, which will be removing the wood, and we want to keep it as whole as possible to make the pattern for the new wood, but don't panic if you can't, then it's a lot of measurement and trials and errors till it fits. Good luck, keep at it and before you know it you'll be saying " that wasn't to bad" LOL? PAP

Yea really, where were these deals when I bought my gem? That thing is factory perfect, turn key go fishing, I wasn't that smart, it was my first boat purchase on my own. Needless to say I rebuilt every damn thing that spins, turns, water runs through or have to push or pull. I got more in it than I'll ever get out of it, so might as well keep pouring Ben Franklins into her at this point. Wish you well on your sale, it's tis the season, right around the corner, let's hope!!! -

Thanks to those that responded sounds like a few weeks yet unless a major warm front sets up, which isn't looking good as of right now, those close by keep us posted on the temps and conditions. 250 miles to tow up to Henderson for not so good fishing isn't good either. Our camp doesn't open till the last Saturday in April, so I have to leave my boat at a friends house till then. Which I don't really like that either as they both work and to strip the boat of the contents isn't fun either. I certainly wouldn't want to come back to just a boat if you catch my drift. So it's a wish in one hand and shyt in the other situation. What's a man to do???? LOL

Man I wish I had someone like you 2lbperch, fishingTheFL you are a lucky sole to have such a high level of Intel and advice to help you through this prodject, I did mine I went 1 section at a time. I kind of had idea that things would shift and I didn't think of adding supports to help keep things in place. The only thing I did all in one shot is cut the floor out. After pulling the outdrive then the power plant I did the transome, then the 4x4 motor mounts then the bulkhead the then stringers one at a time until I hit the steering console and from there it was all good with very little wood up under the console. Time is critical and the same as measurements. The way I did it was a pain in the ass to say the least, but I don't think working around braces would be any easier, but you would have a much cleaner atmosphere for sure. I just shop vac. often either way time and mainly patients is of the essence!!! Sound like you got it going one so far. Best of luck!!! pap?

Is anyone fishing the Henderson area yet for Browns? Or even the Black River area, Chaumont Bay Area. With the northeast under a below the average temps for the next 10 days, what's your thoughts on the Browns. Also what's the temps in your area. Will be ready to rock for the first time since I purchased this GEM. LOL. Thanks PAP

Couple years ago my brother and I were turkey hunting, he was good with a in thee mouth type caller, we had a Tom in between my brother and I. He kept coming and coming next thing all hell breaks loose, soon the bird flys off and no 10ft from my gun barrel!! Needless to say he took the full load of my 3 1/2" turkey load, now that was the closest to me ever! I nearly shyt in my pants for real!!!
