Not to sound like a copy cat, I've given this idea a little more thought, "Maybe" once the guys see how they operate on Erie some might be a little more tentive to help others out that might need a kick start in the right direction. Every year there seems to be little more talk on the walleyes. This just might open the doors on this subject, to share info. But yet not spot burn a area. Well light the fuse, we'll wait for the Boom!! LOL

Your absolutely right, towing home with a 22ft cuddy with a Merc I/O and duel axel trailer, my expedition got 12.3 towing, and around home 12.5mph just driving around on the corn juice!!

Isn't direct TV a satellite or dish TV, So that would be a pay channel, I get world fishing channel, Joe Butcher he fishes the Great Lakes Smallies and Muskie, Next Bite, mostly walleye fishing, northern Ontario Canada, and the SLR, Great Lakes, and of corse AL Linder, Fishing 411 with Mark Romanack and his son who is very informative, and The Musky Hunter. Other than that it's salt water and grass fish fishing, southern large mouth.Nauti, thanks for posting. At least us guys can watch it!!!!

I didn't know they made a autopilot just for the kicker? But like you mentioned what about those times you need the main. How much more would it be to auto your main and link the kicker to the main. That way you would have the best of both worlds. I don't know this as I'm learning also. Since my girls are to young to operate the boat, once I get everything going, I've been kicking the idea around, especially since I can't always get someone to go with me all the time sure would make things easier!!

Need suggestions for making quick-change leaders

I couldn't agree more with above post, this is how I learned of course the hard, --$$$ money way. I put two rigs in the rod holders and headed back to camp, well while B.S.ing all the way back talking about tomorrow somehow enough slack got in the line to free the flasher "2". Well we came into the mouth of the Black River I slowed down to show respect to fishermen, when I heard a clunk what the F¥€? Was that after inspecting the problem I only had 1 flasher left and a part of Cabela's best ball bearings swivels and the other flasher I tied on with a SPRO. swivel, I said to my uncle "well there's your $2.00 less a pack Cabela's brand swivels, cost me a $15.00 flasher" don't get me wrong it would have never happened if I would have tightened the drag up on the reel more so the tip bent a little, but I just cranked them in and went. But there's the proof in the pudding!! SPRO-1 Cabela's-minus 15 LOL -

I learned a few things over the years about this shyten corn juice, but the most I ever was surprised was the gas station out from Dexter put a 93 non ethenal fuel, I gassed up my boat there, I backed her in the water, now she sat all winter but I did run it at home first, but I barely reached the key and she fired right up and she sounded like a different motor, louder, mean lean kick a$$ machine, I'll never run that crap again and with gas prices now it doesn't make sense. Save yourself a lot of headaches. Now I don't know about the newer units designed to operate on the newer fuels.

That's why you want a quality snap on the lure end, if a spoon has a split ring that's what it needs, like most don't, that's what that spoon wants, I do the same with a noodle and even use the wire nails, start by pinning the leader with the nail and finish by pinning the end of the leader, I took a 1/2" dowl rod wooden and cut them 2"'s longer than noodle and I mounted curtain rod holders to my engine cover and hang them on there, works sweet!! I cut all my noodles at 12" and rods at 14". I thought after I could of used a smaller Eye bolt but by that time I was at my wits limit LOL -
Todd those green ladder backs also glow so in early mornings I have caught Browns, Crome, and kings, with that red/gold tiger striped one I caught pike and all the others above, but who ever would of thought a pike!!!, all those lures are from 1988 my uncle did a job for a elderly lady and her husband used to fish LakeO. The #3 plugs really work better than the #4's but I have lures in that bag they no longer make, so I'm curious to see how they work nowadays!!!

Bottom line is if you have a gallon can and a lot of people do, so they can mix those little bottles of oil (1.4oz) there's a quart of ethanol in that can which contaminates that whole gallon, which over the season your carb and spark plug and if it's a 2 cycle the alcohol cuts the oil creating more problems, ask any snowmobile repair shop. They now stock Pistons. Nobody wins in this situation. Other than the repair shop!! Right Joe??? Just because someone wanted to save a few$$$$ after this they will lose more than a extra pipe, hose and a few couplers would have cost to do it right from the start 😱

Holy crap, who would of thought you weren't getting what ya paid for, and the ultimate kick in rear is your no more ahead of the game than if you paid less for the corn juice. That's F'd up man!!!

Changes to some NY Fishing Regulations (Pike)
Xxx replied to Ronix 51's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Sound good to me!! Especially for the plke, there's no reason to harvest 5 pike, as far as the giging if it appears that other species will be intimidated by guys giging for suckers, especially if natural reproducing is evident, then eliminate the gigers, there are other streams holding lots of suckers -

Ok I've been doing a little research, I used to have a auto electric rebuild shop (starters and alternators) I have repaired a few of these motors, the most common problem I came across is the brushes get stuck in the holders from water or condensation getting in, if you remove the motor and can find a local starter shop they might be willing to go inside and see what the problem is, or if you feel this is something you can do, if I remember right the motor slides out rather easy, OH after you remove the screws that hold it the case, mark the case with a line from top to bottom with something that won't rub off I used a screw driver and scribed a line in, remove the through bolts on the motor under the cap that the bolts tighten against is the brushes, gently pull up the brush holder to see if the brushes are moving, see if there is any slack in the copper wire that runs to the brushes if not its out of brushes, a good shop should be able to retrofit a brush from a starter, I know I have already. Very rarely is the armature bad and the ones I messed with were magnetic fields, so if the magnets are tight, make sure where the ground wire and the positive wire attach to the motor aren't corroded. For the access those white buttons should pop off and there should be a screw of some sort to remove so you can get at the paraphernalia that holds it on. Hope this helps. There is a place called mikesreelrepair, com if your motors oe # is3391000 he has one for sale $65.00. Actually these motors are nothing more of a smaller version of a tarper motor for loads that need to be covered while going down the highway, tri axles use them. I will be looking into this some more for myself!! Good luck PAP?

I had the same issue with the wires, and wasn't going to pay the price for new wires, as the first chance to upgrade my riggers I will, so I made my own, I used 10 gauge wire and put a circuit breaker in the positive wire near the batteries and I used Minn Kota plugs instead of the OE ones they only go in one way so to get power to the forward and reverse was easy and you can't reverse the plug so it's the right way, when you wire it. I got the plugs at Cabelas out of the bargain barn, at $15 a piece. The 2 Riggs cost less than 1 Cannon wire. As far as your trolling motor goes, your going to mount that on the top front right? When you run your wires for power isn't there a place to put a battery up front? You don't usually run the wires to your back batteries, doesn't those front pads come off with snaps? Just trying to get an idea of your setup for now, and other guys will chime in here with helpful info also. The cord was a big thing not to long ago. See I'm late already LOL
