  1. Looks great, congrats to job well done!!!
  2. Thanks for your explanation, since Santa brought my daughters the new iPad there are two old ones floating around the house, and they claim this would work, I like the idea of my dipsy lines, knowing where they are yes I have all the precision trolling books to tell me approx. where they are but knowing exactly where so I could let more line out or bring the in a notch, I'm a little gun shy of letting to much line out on my dipsies, this would allow me to know exactly where we are.
  3. Yea Dan that the reason and only reason I don't have a smart troll system. Big Yankee $$$ and no monitor, so you need a iPad or smartphone either way it's another $5 Ben Franklins, so for $650 you have true time tested unit, now that sub troll packed it in.
  4. Yea I like my Evinrude 15jp, it's what I use for my kicker but it's a 78 and it's been used hard over its lifetime. She's showing her age, not that she has failed me, doesn't foul plugs but starting to get hard finding parts. Good luck with your sale!!! pap,
  5. I would have jumped on this had it been a 9.9 or a 15hp

    backing plate

I always thought with the stainless steel I ever worked with it was the hardest damn steel I ever worked with, shy of titanium. You won't bend 3/8 stainless with the bolts that hold on a motor bracket!!!! You will tear off grade 8 bolts before that plate will bend. I would cut 2""X length for each side to bridge your bolt pattern, from top to bottom. That will allow your variation from side to side.
  7. I have a 350 rebuilt with 4 barrel, does the boat have the exhaust manifolds with it? It's a BAHA with through hull exhaust. The motor was rebuilt and so was the out drive, which is why I bought the boat I put the out drive on my Sea Ray Cuddy 22fter. I'd sell the motor for 1500.00 cash.
  8. The cabelas reels seemed as smooth as the sea lines reels, and drags didn't stick anymore.
  9. I looked the gun up, looks sweet, the fellow describing the functions mentioned a lot of AR. parts will interchange but it's not an AR. It has a normal looking but end and a 5 round mag. Which it will accept all the AR clips/magazine. It appears to shoot very well. With a 1-9 twist barrel. I would be happy with it.
  10. I couldn't agree more, Old Man, there's absolutely no reason to take 5 pike a day, Just like the Muskie guys they pulled together and got what they want. Why can't the pike regs be similar, but not to extent of the size, or put a slot on them but surly not 5. 2 in the slot. I also will say that the PA. Fish comm totally screwed up our home lake, we had walleye galore and trout pan fish of ever species, then somehow the alewives came to town they are by the tens of thousands, so they stocked the hell out of it with Muskie, exactly what Justin mentioned they did nothing. Time went by they then stocked more Browns and it was a slaughter fest for the muskies, they fed on the trout & walleyes, so what did the knot heads do but stock stripers to clean up the alewives. The guys secret weapon for the stripers was to go up to the trout hatchery and buy 4-6" trout and fish them. This didn't work because Beltzville lake is one tough lake to fish, why they still don't have the alewives under control, don't let this happen on Conesus. I don't know the answers but I do know what doesn't work.

    Honeoye Lake

I'm not a ice fisherman, but man this year is really not the year to have enough ice for SAFE fishing yet I wouldn't be surprised if it gets moved to FEB. I don't want to hear about anyone going through, let alone one of our brothers/sisters from LOU. I know everyone is chomping at the bit to get out there but PLEASE use caution!!! This goes out to all of you!!! No fish is worth hypothermia or the worst of all!!! Your friend PAP.
  12. Well At least is not a stinking snakehead!! All of the statistics about it being a mud minnow, eats little fish and can live out of the water sounds about right. I was at first sight, snakehead kill it. That fish is lucky it wasn't in my pond, it would have been in two pieces or more.
  13. What is the differanc? I'm not being a smart a$$ I sent my cabelas reels to Tuna Tom, the only thing and the reason I sent them out was every day you have to pull on the line hard. Like they stick far beyond what you had them set at after that they seem all right. I have a few Sealine's and they seem smooth, a few Mitchell's the tide waters, which I really like, man can you put line on those reels, getting back to the source, all my rods since I sent the others out seem to work the same. Maybe because I never had a $185/250 reel to compare?🎣 🎣
  14. I took the hook off a vibrax spinner added a 18" fluro and a slow death hook add worm and bingo. Never saw a trout refuse a juice worm, Smithwicks and bay rats, the goby rat worked the best and old faithful Smithwicks orange bottom with a gold/black top.
  15. LOL! fInal flight
  16. Yea Whaler that's what I was getting at. lLOL. I think that's great. My kind of peple!!!!
  17. The ladies certainly don't look like they had hunting attire on, both good looking gals, the fox is nice also. I hope you have a big stick dad!!!
  18. That's great to hear that precision trolling has realized these lures are here to stay. If Mark thought anything less about the rats he surely wouldn't be wasting his time swimming these lures past a guy holding a measuring stick.
  19. I think there will be a lot of guys willing to go further than other years, to try new waters. I know this has nothing to do with the tourney's so in a sense it will be a learning point for some.
  20. Tell me about it every spring she gets yanked 250 miles north, these prices make it a little more bearable.
  21. Finally a lure company that builds strong lures, great action no tuning work great right out of the box and good color that isn't gone after a few battles with the Northerns that seem to lurk the same waters as eyes. I said to my uncle finally eye candy for fisherman and fish LOL.
  22. Not to Hyjack this thread which is very interesting the old school lures worked well because they were sold with the intent to catch fish, now a days the role has changed yes the fisherman still pay for them, but the newer lures catch fisherman. People complain about paying $10 for a proven Sutton turn around and pay in the higher teens to nearly $20 for a Japanese or Chinese lures because "man these lures have to catch fish" jmo.
  23. Isn't that the American way, got yer money, you had to abuse the unit for it to come apart, we've never saw anything like this, we will get to this next week-week after- we will call the dealer when we come to "our" decision. I feel for ya man, I had a similar ordeal, the motor on my brand new 1995 Skidoo the crankshaft busted right at the clutch I held the clutch in my hands at Slate Rock hotel. The dealer couldn't believe it and the warranty took for ever. So I shelled 7g loaded it on the trailer unloaded at the motel on the same rode that Fat Nancy's on to the right, drove to Slate Rock. Next day got it with the trailer and didn't see it again till the fall season. For your sake I hope you have a better road to travel, good luck Devin I'm pulling for ya!!! OH YEA, there was no reason for the **** on the other to be just that, I bet you had to bite your tongue a few times!!
  24. Thanks Kevin, yea, I used to work 10-12 hrs a day when I had my business, closed the shop up went home, and that was the end of me, I snapped my spine off L4/5/6 in the opposite direction from the way you normally bend, they plated me on the front and back of my spine, and hoped I could walk which I wasn't able to at first but with months of therapy I'm able to go with out a walker which I needed for a while then a cane now nothing. The docs. said it was amazing how well I did. It was a long hard road but I made it. Fishing was always my passion now I have to be careful but once I'm in you need to pry me out, I just love being out on the water. Take care Kevin, I hope our plans from last year materialize this year. PAP.
