Exactly drlfc, how much would it cost to go to Walmart and buy the battery operated clamp on ones, and like Chas stated I run in the dark the same way except I have driving lights forward, lights shining on my boards, that have the DOT. reflecting tape on both sides. I have mine wired that I can turn of whichever set I want. I only have run in the dark on our local lake for stripers and eyes, but maybe early dawn come eye season on Lake'O.

That is AWESOME Fleet, I watched a lot shows on the fishing channel, but never saw them that close up. You are definitely blessed to have a brother that shares the same passion for fishing. Congrats on your trip that would be a chance of a lifetime for others. How did those saltwater Kings and coho's differ from LakeO fish in taste. Safe trip back. Nice pics. also. PAP

Im going to be the Devils advocate. For us guys that go by the laws, to protect ourselves from goons that slap a 9.9 motor on a smaller aluminum boat and blast out in the darkness of night with only a lighter to fire up what ever they are smoking, now WE need to invest in military night vision, I have a generation 2 telescope on my yote rifle when I bought this scope it was nearly a grand, my father in law paid for half as a gift. Now we need to get a radar outfit, this is ridiculous!! Please don't start a pissing match Im just saying, the robber gets away with it because the cops contaminated the evidence. Kind of like insurance to protect yourself from the ones who don't have anything. WTF. Wrong with this picture!!!!

That's very nice of you Landshark, they don't look quite as bulky and cumbersome as the "wingers" about how far do they run the cable and ball off to the side Thanks PAP. -

In the middle of August we were out in 70ft of water off the north shore of Galloo Island we were fishing good smallie waters hoping for a eye or two, we did ok so back to the fillet table with our walleyes (we got two) the stomachs of both eyes were packed with gobies, I couldn't believe they even took a Bomber long A, riggers were parked at 60 and 50, the smallies hit the 50 rigger and the eyes hit the 60 rigger, even the smallies had gobies in them. One thing I noticed was the gobies in the eyes were bigger than the gobies in the bass. The eye gobies were like 4-5" and the bass maybe 2 -3"max. The theory of the gobies being shallow dwellers is a crock of chit!!, I really hope that the sought after fish eat gobies and maybe get the numbers down, but I doubt this will happen. I watched a show on the fishing channel called Invaisive Species and they claim there are 5 gobies for every 3ft square of the lake bottom. That's mucho gobies in the lake!!!

I remember something like that, I think that it was called wingers, and it was made by bill Staiff charters? Look up Bill Staiff charters I think it's on their web site. -
About 5-6years ago my uncle and I were trolling at night on our local lake at night with rods out spot light on the rocket launcher shinning on the poles light shinning down in the back when my uncle says that I should stay left there is a log ahead of us, as we got almost on top of this guy he yells HEY What The &$@? Can't you see?? I said how am I supposed to see you where hell are you lights, he yells I DONT NEED FN lights, I'm not in a boat. Where he is, it's a long point that sticks out about 75 yards from shore and he is waist deep in the water. I told him you either need a lantern on shore or a light on your hat, well he started mouthing off to I told Dave reel the rods in and we fired up and left the jackass there, maybe someone else will drive over him then he'll read the book. Hopefully he gets some form of lights for his own safety!! We are gearing up to troll nights so see what happens once the water temp comes down.

If never owned chestwaders, I prefer the type that the shoe is separate, they are a lot lighter, I hade the type with the boot afixed to the wader, I didn't like those as much, you can get the boot with the felt bottoms, which I would suggest as these type really grip on the slippery rocks and you can put little like studs in the shoe also. I haven't bought a pair of waders in, hell might be 10 years so I'm sure they have improved them a great deal. Good luck with your purchase!!!!! PAP

Way to go Les, nothing like going on vacation, and do the things you love to do, I hope you are enjoying yourself. My grandparents lived in Clearwater on the gulf side. I remember my grandfather and his buddy used to take me for sea trout, that was cool at least they look a trout, the rest of the ocean fish just look weird to me. Well soak up some rays and catch a bunch of those Reds there pretty good eating. Relax & Enjoy. PAP.

Very nice of you to do. Help out our fellow fisherman/ladies. It's a win win situation for both the fisherman and help out a guy who's given his heart and sole to make walleye fishing a different face as like helping others get their feet wet, at least give a heads up. This sport used to be so tight lipped and get lost kid, philosophy! I feel that Justin,(this is my take on the man) just wants everyone to be able to catch a walleye. Once you get your feet wet in this very time consuming sport fish, the more YOU put into it the more YOU will be rewarded. I feel this year this topic has opened up a great deal from the older generation ever would have let out. With our tight nit group of guys on here willing to share info and not be asked to be spoon fed, let some of the more advanced anglers feel as if they could contribute their knowledge and not be pushed out of their favorite path on the lake / River. It takes all of us working together to achieve each other's respect. Thanks to the fine tuned walleye fisherman on this site, and thanks to all that did not spot burn the hands that feed you, We had a good year with the info guys and the others who respected their territory!!! You will get more bee's with honey than with vinegar. That much I can promise you 100%!!! Tight lines to all. Let all our first sight of color from the deep be a dark green with glowing white eyes!!!

I use a gun shop known as Keystone shooters supply, he has a pretty good gun business, and his son is the repair guy/ machinist plus very particular with his end product. For the last 5/7 years he has said that Savage arms has had the best barrels out there, while Remington still hangs tough, the accu- trigger does need some getting used to, but Savage has picked up there game, and there not the bumper Jack handle they used to be. Aiming there business towards the average joe's wallet!!!

Are you looking for chest waders or hip boots, I second the sportsman guide, or check out the bargin barn at you nearest Cabala's. Or check out like a mom & pop hardware store. I bought a pair of neoprene 8mills, on cold water day, "when I could get around a lot better" they were great but on 60* or better days I roasted my arsh off.

There's nothing wrong with that in my mind, my uncles an cousins both race, but they also like to fish in between races. I don't know what class he's running, they run the dirt circuit, 320, 358 modified, or they have a third car for the big block class. Last year they ended up near the $100,000 to the good not bad they run the big money races, like Penn-Cann, Big Diamond, Five mile point. One year they brought their cars up to camp and ran Lafarge Ville that was cool as some guys came from Canada, the Canadians had some hot iron. Anyway sounds like your boy is doing well. Is he looking for a NASCAR ride?? What class is he in, looks like a pro stock, but I only know the dirt car racing , don't knock it there's lots of other thingshe could have chosen. Best of luck in his race career, let me know what class he is in. Thanks for sharing! PAP.

Other than my 35 Whelen in a Rem 760 pump, you couldn't pry my 25.06 out of my hands, I load my own shells. It's a Ruger Teflon coated in gun metal grey, laminated stock, which I swaped out for a composite stock, it was to heavy with the laminate stock which I kept, it's a heavy barrel no bull barrel hade to play around a little but once we found the right recipe what a sweet shooting gun, has enough punch to reach out there and touch the yotes, and a hell of a field rifle for the banana's. Sure you could argue the point there are other cal. that do the same , 300. H&H, WSM, I had a 260 REM in a mountain rifle I won, but to hard to find the right ingredients to be a every day shooter!! Which ever you choose best of luck with it.
