  1. My girls are only 10 years old, they are really into the outdoors, they both play softball, they lost 1 game out of the championship, they were bummed out, I told them this is only the 2nd year you gals played and you made it this far!! That's great, then they said yea now we have time to go fishing dad, if I say we are going fishing they are running in place at the door, once we get up to camp they go to bed at 9pm and there're up at 5 ready to go. They last about 4 hours if we're on fish, then the crawl up in the cuddy for a cat nap if nothing is happening I don't push them we head in and do what they want to do the rest of the day. They will ask where are we going tomorrow I usually tell them it depends on the weather and the wind. They are always ready to go again!! I'm really blessed even if my wife comes up she will go out also, I put her behind the wheel and the girls and I set rods, sometimes they will let mom reel 1 in, if one hits off the rigger the girls know how to bring the ball up then I let Paula reel that one in and I'll take the wheel untill it's net time. We have a blast!!!
  2. Way to bbolger. I'd say that's a good start 3 fish in under an hour!!!
  3. Absolutely piratesholly, I'm the same, he was more than my dad he was my best friend and when he passed away from cancer it was the worst day of my life. Since then I was rewarded with 2 beautiful girls(twins) it's hard to believe it's 10 years already and today I got a 48 gun, gun safe from my wonderful ladies. My girls are chomping at the bit to come up to our camp and go out on LakeO and do some fishing, that's why I'm pushing to get my lower unit back on the boat, and adjusted up, so when they come up we can just head out and enjoy ourselves. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.
  4. Jigstick, when you say the fishing usually picks up at 58* then why is it on fire at 68, is 68 down temp? I'm by no means calling you out!! I'm always trying to learn, and you certainly got going on!!! Thanks for any feedback!! PAP PS. Walleye fishing can be mysterious!!!
  5. Sounds to me like the probe played a major role as to fish or no fish. This is the third post I read today that the a probe made the difference between a good day and ok day, the reason I say "ok day" is because there is no such thing as a bad day when your fishing with friends or solo. Great post!!
  6. Awesome vid. Mr Clean with a slammer brownie, borderline trophy!!! Doing it solo yet really sets the stage though. I also blew the lower unit on my I/O putting it back together today and hopefully get up there this week to install and get some fishing in, first trip only lasted 3 hrs before the upper gears decided to go leave, leaving us to come in on the kicker, UUGGG
  7. Nice going, H&C'em those are some nice eater size!! Congrats to your day!!
  8. Hey good job buddy!! Did you say baby walleye? Like last years hatch? Maybe what I was told is true!! By the way I had to order two seals for my outdrive, will be at the marina after 12:00pm Monday should be ready to roll by the weekend!! PAP
  9. It may be another year of the phantom fish. They mysteriously disappeared, then one by one started to show up, just about when we figured they were here to stay they disappeared until late in the year. It was the year that the lakers saved a lot of skunks
  10. There ya go Jimmyi, when the power of minds work together there is always a positive outcome, Splifshot you have a lot of people pulling for you, you will have a speedy recovery and you will be back in the captains chair very soon!! PAP
  11. PAP!!
  12. That's awesome!! It would look better down in my man cave along side my walleye and pike, then all I'd need is my trophy laker!! Nice work by the town of Clayton NY.
  13. Use a stiff fluro, I use 18-20# the harness will stay straight and I use the black colored quick change clevis by Northland they spin nice and you can change blades no problem, I like to make 3 hook harnesses. A charter we took explained why he liked the three hook ones, he claimed it keeps the worm strait and only the tail end dangles and you stand a better chance with short bites on three hooks and also for the hooks I use #2 red circle hook, you can buy all the fancy beads at a supplier or what I do is buy the floats and I use my daughters beads they have 100's in these necklace and bracelet kits, same stuff, glow in the dark beads and colors galore!! Good luck it's fun catching an eye on a harness you made yourself.
  14. Can I come over for supper on the nights your cooking!!! Sounds great BS I'm the cook under our roof and our family loves the wild game and fish, especially when I deep fry bass and walleye, my one daughter isn't a fish eater but she likes walleye deep fried in peanut oil and beer battered
  15. That was nice evening for you, enough action to keep you on your toes!! Congrats to you evening. PAP.
  16. Man that is a heavy weight, OL' Smokey has some competition. I'd like to see the one your mom has coming in Trouthunter, my aunt lives in Sussex county near the northern line and she says Jersey has a lot of bears, she has 3 that come into the back yard, her yard is huge, very long and they stay at the woods line. A few years ago one decided to take a swim in the neighbors pool (inground) she has pictures pretty cool!! The neighbor was away at the time.
  17. Hey both of you guys Splitshot and Jim, I wish you guys the best!! I know medicine has come a long way, but it's still nerve racking when your on the receiving end, just be sure to become good friends with your Anastasiaoligist, so they give you good shot happy juice!!, after 3 back surgeries and the last one the most involved operation I ever went through, my hope and prayers go out to you guys, think positive and it will go smooth. You'll be having a fishing pole in your hands very soon. Keep us posted on how you two make out. Your friend Mike!!

  19. I was thinking the same thing but for a 2 stroke, I'm going down to Hobbie town, they have all the servo's for model air planes and off road RC trucks, once I see what I'm dealing with and the throw of the arm and how long the arm is and how little I can make them move, figuring I'll have to hook into the throttle linkage with a 2 stroke, I'll keep you posted on what I find!!!
  20. Nice going guys, congrats on your nice catch!!!
  21. Hey there Sluggo keep us posted, headed there toward the end of the month, good luck and safe trip to & from, and on the water!!!
  22. That's great guys, like mentioned I couldn't see the cost vs. the looks so I took them off. The ones up front I was able to salvage because there they used 1/2" plywood like where the shift and throttle are, good job for winter. Thanks for posting very good ideas here!!

    SLR 1 for 1

Nice eye Prof.T. The river will take what it can, I know jigging in the Black River in this one spot if your jig hits bottom your snagged, I don't know if there's heavy salmon line down there or what, I switched to light wire jigs they bend and usually release, then I just bend the hook back. Gets expensive after awhile!!
