My uncle got a Mark4 chirp ice unit and I must admit the chirp really shines for jig fishing, you could watch the fish come in and lift the jig up a little and wam fish on, didn't break the bank either.

I don't think one person will argue that point Great Lakes, I'm leaving her covered till after this talk about a NorEaster Mon/Tues, last year I uncovered early and we got a heavy wet snow, it bent my canopy rods all to hell and I ended up shoveling the snow out of the boat. I built supports to hold up the cover which worked great this year, every snow once it warmed up a little slid right off. Hopefully this snow will do the same. Yea I'm so ready for warmer weather!!!!

Out of all the different Ins. Companies, BoatU.S seems to suit my needs the best, but I'm looking at around $300.00 a year. Will know more of the details soon. Still cheaper than I would have thought.

3-5" of snow starting at noon Friday and a coastal storm watch for early next week, you just gotta love it. Went to cabelas today in Hamburg Pa. Picked up some lure tape and Colorado blades to try out this new to me stretch tape specificly designed for spinner blades and suffix leadcore, guess I can load reels and watch it snow Friday.

That's EXCACTLY what I wanted to hear guys, I've got to talk to boatus tomorro, they called to day and said they needed an underwriter to finish my deal, whatever that means. The whole ball of wax we $83 and change, but when I mentioned the fishing gear and riggers that's when she said about the underwriters?

Thanks momay4000, I've been looking into this before I make the treck north, since my back operation I can't due what I used to, so I need a piece of mind that I won't be stranded along the road, and the same with the boat once I'm on the water, to me it seems like a no brainier for someone like me. Thanks again guys really appreciate the help!! PAP

Hey TileMan, isn't it raining buy you, it's pouring here right now, and snow in the forecast for Friday, I'm waiting till the weekend, I went over axels and breaks, things needed a little TLC, but other than that nothing major. I also got a coat of wax on the lower half, cleaned up nice. I might change the lower unit oil if the sun comes out this afternoon if that happens. Well good luck with your project, we are getting there slowly but surely. PAP.

I know this was gone over from time to time but I couldn't find the info I'm looking. I was wondering what for Ins. is the best for covering roadside assistance and what Ins. covers a sea tow, I hope I don't need it but you know the old saying, also can you get Ins. for the content that you have in the boat, riggers, poles, lures, and something towards a new one should you get in a accident. Does one company cover all this and what's the general amount of this insurance. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys PAP.

How to add charging to manual-start Merc 9.9 4 stroke?

Well according to manual, the charging system was designed to replace what the starter used out of the battery, not much, like 6 amp at operating speed, very little at an idle. -
Some Predictions
Xxx replied to quill gordon's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
The proof will be in the pudding!!!! I think you will have to think that this will be 2 years in the making, what was great for some was just the opposite for others, I personally hope it's a repeat of last year. -
I did walleye in the smoker and my kids devoured it, fillet the fish don't remove the skin soak in your favorite brine for 24hrs. I pulled the fillets out of the brine and patted dry and left the fish come up to room temp. Hit them with heavy smoke for 30 minutes then I finished them with just heat at 200* in smoke house, I have to admit it was the best dam fish I ever ate, at first I was a little hesitant, what if I screw these walleyes up I would be really upset with myself.

I really like when a vintage spoon appears, and the older gents dig into there minds and tell us younger gen 50plus year old, shows the world how much influence there was on fishing since we were able to hold a fishing pole. I'm really into history and when it involves something I enjoy doing I really enjoy listening to the folks that hand on experience. I didn't grow up in the Great Lakes area, but I'm really into old bottles which I found as a kid raking down many hill sides around home and old farmsteads. I once fished the Black River above Brownville in a deep gorge but found myself digging along the banks inspecting the broken glass, along a railroad bed, lots of great old pieces of glass some I dated into the late 1700's early 1800's just by looking at how the tops corking area were formed. Very interesting!!!!, if old lure talks last as long as old bottles, you better have a place to sit down. PAP.

I read on the boat forum that the guys were happy with it, I'll have to dig into the amp put out I never looked into that deep. -
Muskie since your into the electronics and I own a starter and alternator rebuild shop I didn't see any wrong doing, and I believe that we are both on the same page here, I did go to a seminar where Delco started to use a star washer at the starter connection from the battery and since a computer sends the start signal to the starter which also controls the crank time. They were having trouble with that and the whole cause was the star washer, the washer limited the contact point to 12 little areas instead of the whole surface area like a lock or flat, they claimed the washer did not let enough current to flow on the account that the star washer was only making contact with 12 little areas which caused a overdraw, and we were instructed us to use flat washers only and problem solved. If the initial problem is the surge on the start up of the motor, I wonder if this could be an issue. Just a thought. PAP
