Sounds like you had your work cut out for you Les, 70 holes wow thats a lot of drilling!!! I guess that's the hard water way of trolling. LOL. Here's a question, does the wind direction matter when ice fishing? Or do you find a shelf and drill hole that follow the drop offs towards deeper water. I don't know much about ice fishing other than its always windy and blue a$$ cold. My uncles were on Black Lake last week, a couple of nice perch and a lot of 18" to 24" pike, Dave said it was -7 and 20-30 mph winds, that to me doesn't sound like fun. In late Feb. they head up to Maine where Clark, his freind has a cabin then they sled 8 miles to a lake they fish. It has Lakers and brookies and you have to drill buy hand and last year it got into the -20s for a HIGH, anyway good to hear you caught some nice perch and you got out, that's the important part! Good luck. PAP.

I couldn't agree more with Les, I fished with a hummingbird 727 for 10 years, yup black& white waited patiently for years for the price of the down scan to come into my money bracket, then Cabelas had a $100.00 off and Lowrance had a $150.00 mail in rebate which brought the$699.00 Finder into my price range. I'm very happy with it. Might be another 10 years till the 12" touch screen are in my price range, but I might have to update my 1982 fish platform first. LOL.

Elite 7 HDI with lake insight and sun cover $399.00 cablelas, just got the fishing catalog. Last year I paid $550.00 since then chirp came out $699.00 and now the Elite 9 chirp $1399.00 all within a year, talk about a marketing gimmick!! When I bought mine the Lawrance rep. Said there wouldn't be any major changes anytime soon!!! Yea OK then, kind of like the fish hawk. Best of luck to you.

Excellent read!!!! -
Last year we had a snow owl down here in PA. It sat on a tall not used telephone pole in the middle of a local farm field right outside of a busy little town, Broadheadsville. I got to see the bird up close, knowing the farmer. The owl made the paper and the local news. It is unusually cold this year again maybe he will return!! Anyway great story and determination to get a pic. Maybe next time.

What a wonderful woman, my mother in law was the same way. You will have many great memories of mom that will last your lifetime. At a time like this your loss is someones gain, as she travels through the gates of Heaven she will be greeted by those who have been waiting for her arrival and journey on to the unknown, in peace and love. May God bless your mother and your family in these hard times. Pap.

I purchased the Navionics Platinum NE, and I'm very pleased with it, I fish the north east portion of lakeO and its very detailed with I thin 3ft contours, all of the ST Lawrance is on it, also many lakes around home PA. Are on it also, even little lakes like Beltzville and other smaller lake some to my surprise as to how small they are are on it, but you will not be disappointed with the detail of lakeO.

Way to hang in there Johnny, that's some fine eating there. We went to a local lake Tuesday weather was perfect, cloudy, misty not a breeze in the air was able to get the tin can down to 7/8mph tried all depths from shore shallow to 30ft all different speeds you name it we tried it but all we had was a big skunk!!! So good job. PAP.

Very interesting, also like Les stated you need to be on your game using those machines, one little interruption and say goodbye to a finger or two. I can plainly see a lot of handling of the item before its finished. I think after the intense work of the lures, I would sit and cry if I lost one. LOL. This puts a whole new view of respect toward the items I have in my tackle box, last Tuesday I lost a Rapala tail dancer at $ 11.75 I tried for 15 minutes to work it loose but the rocks won, I didn't like it but after watching you, now I'm sick about it. Thanks a lot for showing us how much work goes into each and every lure, sure paints a different picture, quality lures aren't just popped out of a machine and put in a box. Lots of luck to you I surely will be looking to get some of you lures in my tackle box. Very impressed. PAP.

Congrats to you and your daughter, it's times like this that make a life time memory!! It's so nice to read these kind of reports. My daughters are going to turn 10 in Feb. and they are chomping at the bit to teach them gun safety so they can go mentore hunting next year. We will practice this summer so next fall they can go. I believe that families that enjoy the outdoors and do things as a family, shows the children that there is more to life than homework and tv, video games. Sounds like your daughter enjoys the outdoors and spending good times with dad. Great job to the both of you!!!! PAP

Being that you as manufacturer of the product, you like I get to see the "bigger" picture and the one on one sales. I myself like the individual sales more, get to hear how much the person is glad that I'm around, where else would he go to get something like this repaired (antique units) and the same goes for your product. You might have a lure that works well for him and he can't find it anywhere else. Yet we need the bigger guys for bulk sales to stay a float. I really like the "general public" because they take pride in your product and I like to talk to the people that use our product, they give me feed back on where we might be able to improve on something or might be able to help them out with a problem they have that a rebuilt item might not be the answer, problem may lie elsewhere. The same may go to you, folks that use you lures everyday might be able to help you improve on the product, where the bulk buyers you don't hear from till they need more which is always a good thing!!!!! I wish you many sales on your product as you have worked very hard to get to where you are. Best of luck. PAP.

Lost "Mission" bow-Stueben county----RETURNED!

That's awesome, I would think that 2 people are going to sleep well tonight. Just proves there are some honest folks out there, a perfect ending to a sad beginning. -
When we came up to close up camp we made a few pit stops at the local mom & pop shops to get some " must have items" that unless you fish the northern lakes they look at you like your from mars. Slide divers, never heard of them? That's just one item. Unless you mail order Michigan stinger spoons, your local shops carry most if not all the colors, sometimes up to $.50 cheaper then the big box stores!!!! Another item is a good worm box for us crawler hauler guys. I start in Pulaski at Fat Nancy's and go from there, I can't remember them all but I know how to get there and that's the important part. Being a small business owner, I know every sale counts, so I support as many small fishing and hunting supply shop I can. On the way to the lake we pass by 2 Gander MT. Stores 2 Dicks Sporting goods and I ask, does anyone want to stop at the big box stores? Just keep driving I know where I want to go the boys tell me. Till next spring, stay warm and safe especially you ice fisherman. PAP.
