Yea that's a slammer buck!!!. My brother in law shot a 150+ buck in Ohio this year and he is headed to Iowa next week for a week, he is a incredible shot with the the compound, and big bucks seem to like him (LOL) I hope he gets as lucky as this guy, what a incredible experience, once in life time experience!!!!

Yea ERRABIT I know, he lives up to his name "wolf" but with a wife that's a school teacher,it's a tough decision, last we heard he wants to tap into their retirement plans. Either way it's a lose- lose situation. We already voted so, let the games begin. Lol.

I'm amazed on the fact that the Muskie guys catch walleye on 13" lures at speeds unheard of for walleye fishing, makes one think about switching things up for these elusive critters. Only one guy I know of that trolls 3mph or better for eyes, and is very successes full with it. Don't need to name that fellow, (Otisco) man. LOL.

Don't think your vote doesn't count, EVERY VOTE COUNTS!!!! Our election is to get rid of Corbett, he cut school funds by the millions and doesn't tax the natural gas company's which would considerably lower our school taxes which are the HIGHEST is the state!!!!! We are taxed to DEATH, our taxes are over 8 grand a year, ridiculous!!!!

I hope for all you NY Sportsman & Ladies, that you guys pull through and get rid of governor Cuomo, I don't know how it would effect us out of state hunters, I'm sure we will be pulled into the mess some how. Good luck guys!!!!!

As I was browsing Great Lakes Fisherman, I came across the exact same lures I have with the metal bill, it was on a charet CAPT. Storm Warning || there are 3 walleye in the net and the green lure with red eyes with what appears to be a metal lipped lure, that's the lures I have. PAP -
You know Fleet, I don't know what the hell I got, I have the Cabelas metal lip that measures 4"s and then I have these 4 that have metal lips that measure 5"s but there's no name on it and there shaped like the runners. I know I bought them from Cabelas but they were off a stand by the poles, not off the rack where all their lures are. Well they work till I lose them all. LOL

The ones I'm using measure 5" from the head to the tail, excluding the bill and the rear hook, that's larger than the 800 series in the reef runner only by a 1/4" but its a big lure, maybe you have the smaller version? Tight lines PAP.

We went to Lake Wallenpawpack yesterday and the fishing was slow, we managed to catch 5 smallies on a jigging spoon that David was using we couldn't do anything with the bass by dropshotting or rubber worms, I managed I nice walleye on a Cabelas brand metal lipped reef runner, 3 really nice perch on a float rig with a pink worm and a nice crappie on the same rig, that's it from 5:30am to 4pm, we fished most all the island drop offs and the coves where the wind was blowing into. We fished from the dam to the lower end. We took my buddies bass boat, which was nice but, I think my uncle and I are going back up with my boat, we saw a lot of fish in 30-50ft but Dave isn't set up for deep water trolling. 2 years ago we did much better long lining off the riggers and slide divers. We managed some nice walleye and browns a few stripers none legal and some nicer smallies than any we caught yesterday. If it happens I will post our outting. For those who live or fished the Pack. Some people are main brand oriented and thats all right, they worked on Erie, Beltzville, Wallenpawpack, and Tuscarora dam, the Delaware River, next year I will give them a go on the ST. Lawrance & lake O, I've had great success with them.

Yes they were Cabelas brand, and personally I like the metal lip better, I always had trouble with the "reef runner brand" either running left or right or they would spin out at speeds a tad above 2mph. I know that they tunable, but with the metal lip they have the action of a hot & tot but with a lot bigger and slower wobble and they bounce over the rocks much better also. I have caught more walleye with the metal lip this year than all the years I had the original reef runners. Oh ever one we used from the smallest to the 5" ones work perfect right out of the box. I have had a lot of success with the hot & tot I just had to give them a shot, needless to say I went back and bought 8 more, some I bought were ugly colors and those I air brushed to the original fire tiger color, hot reddish orange with the thin black stripes down the sides, they work awsome!!! PAP.

I have had that happen a few time already, then I started tying my worm harnesses out of 20# fluro. And found out my catch ratio went up on the walleyes due the stiffer line making the harness more strait and also reeling in some rather stout pike, but never hooked into a Muskie that I know of.

I think he was referring to the video where the guy was clubbing the Muskie over the head and tossing it overboard, while two other guys videoed the whole shebang. It was a thread on here awhile back. Peace guys.

I was just on Lowrance web site and they are coming out with the elite series with the new chirp!! It showed the difference between the HDI and the chirp quite impressive!!! The new Elite 7 Chirp looks awsome, I wish I would have waited another year, but with technologies going the way it is I truly believe every year will be a new and better idea from the top manufacturers of fish finders. Good luck, but I would look into the chirp program buy lowrance.

Excellent thread guys, and I couldn't agree more Larry, as my wife is a teacher also, so I can relate to your, take a kid fishing, I take different groups of 4 who wish to go fishing out on my boat, even if its small pan fish, those kids can't thank me enough. Even the troubled type kids have a whole different misdemeanor to them by the end of the trip and ask if we could do this again. I respond by if your grades are up and no visits to the office your welcome anytime I'm out, or we make plans to get out. -
As what Les said, if you did your best, don't let the goons get the best of you. Some people get their rocks off buy starting $hit, for every action their is going to be a reaction. It's the nature of the beast. I used to get upset with people's comments but anymore I just laugh, whatever. Those that start smack usually have more skeletons in the closet than you can shake a stick at. I'm surprised with the hunting season starting there hasn't been a heated thread. Keep fishing and hunting and do it to your best of knowledge and who cares what someone else thinks.

Why is it I'm always a day late and a $ short LOL. But hey, at least we know it works, as Sluggo stated and RD9 that it works and by people who have used this (quote, unquote) new tactic. Thanks guys!! Well tomorrow we are going to Lake Wallenpawpack about an hour north of the Pocono's we will see what happens. Will report on our day trip, leaving at 4:30am that should put us on the water by no later than 5:30am, hopefully catch the early walleye bite then go from there.

Kevin I would think that with the current you wouldn't have to worry about the action, I was fishing the metal lipped Reef Runners, they have tremendous action so a small piece of crawler didn't effect the action.

Well there might be some 12"ers in the pile, but the pile of perch is the main topic, that being said congrats on last years catch. John that is a hombre of a perch!! That many of that size and dehond56 will need another freezer!!! LOL.
