This pic is just one that I could take, you needed 2 hands on the wheel at all times. LOL I wanted this pic in on the original post. I can’t figure out what the hell is going on with the pics. Post with a android, you just can’t upload a pic from the phone, even if you use the forums not the apps?? Sent from my LG-M327 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

That’s great Fishnut, I’m going to see if if I could get mt but into this camp, it’s like pulling teeth, you almost have to wait till someone leaves the club or someone has passed to a better place!! I’m hoping I might have a little more of an edge than most guys being I know the camp president!!! Seems pretty cool. Thanks for the comments!! PAP.

I was up in Ny State this weekend to try and fix a problem that my uncles camper had, the transformer/12V charger failed last year, so they had to run a generator all night to power a battery charger so the furnace would operate all night, lord only knows you need heat where they are, along the Oswegotchi river on the paper mill property off river road, I found the problem it was inside the transformer, I had 3 other units and none had this resister that had to be no more than 3.2 volts resistance, that was bad, I found a RV dealer up near Tupper Lake, so off I go he said he had them, got there and it was the right part so back I go stick this part in. Fired up the generator and instantly heard the unit click and start humming!!! AAHH mission complete. My uncle says great now we are going over to the hunting camp for supper, so off we go , and to a gate we came he had the key Butch held the gate till both trucks got through, we drove for a 1/2hr to 45 mins. Through the woods through water holes as deep as the bottom of the doors, up hills without a 4x4 would have been impossible to climb totally awesome miles and miles of nothing but sheer no mans land we stopped and got out to be told that this spot is where the Ny State record buck was shot. Then continued on till we were litterly on top of this mountain. There was a lake up there I think the guys said it was called Moose Lake and the club stocks it with brookies, we are at the camp where I think I know these guys one little boy had a Palmerton Blue Bombers football sweatshirt on, that’s the School District my wife teaches, No Way way the hell back here??? Come to find out indirectly I knew every guy there!! They had steak chicken broccoli, snow peas fried potatoes, and a lot of everything, all cooked over a open fire. That was a epic moment for me!! Sat around the campfire while the guys told deer hunting stories, very cool evening, it was going on 10:00pm we needed to get off this mountain and my uncle and his buddy had to get back to their camp along the Oswegotchi River and I needed to make the treck back to Dexter as I needed to be headed south by 4am Sunday morn, and it’s a 1.5hrs to Dexter from the other camp that Dave & Butch have. Was a very cool weekend for sure!!! Now I understand why so many of you guys have such a great relationship with the outdoors and big bucks!! I would be willing to say that some of those deer never saw a human before!! PAP.

Man those were some tanks!! Laker poop don’t bother me!!! Not when your pulling those tanks over the side!! Your boat looks amazing, congrats to a long and exhausting refurbish, all worked per plan I take it other than a poop towel, I do believe you nailed it!! Now you will have years of no anxiety when out on the water, there will be little corks along the way, same as a new or any other boat!! Very nice and congrats to a banner day with a new to you boat, along with a major sense of accomplishment!! -
That’s terrible for a Sunday!! Sunday’s are supposed to our day to be inspired by the gods, even if it were the walleye gods!! great to hear. Seems like everyone had there own gig to be prosperous over this opener weekend as weather wise it was anything but normal as usual. Congrats to your 3 cast 3 fish opener.

Nice I do believe that’s the best catch of the opener that I heard of!! Nice going!!

Must be something with the teaching industry, my wife is a teacher going on 35 years now most were in the special education area, just recently went back to regular Ed. She also has her special Ed. supervisor Cert. which did for one year but realized she wasn’t ready to give up the kids. There’s a special place for all those folks that took up this profession!! I just sit there and shake my head. All I can say is God bless you folks and you will be gifted later in life. Kevin is a prime example of being gifted, I would love to have his lifestyle!!!!

if you ever look at the lunar charts there is always 2 lows on a 24hr period and 2 highs also, I’ve had some of the best fishing from 11:am to 3:30pm. My brother in law is a firm believer as he has shot many big racked bucks. It seems in holds true in the fishing also. Like posted above there’s always a second high in the mid day time period. I’m now a firm believer also now!!!

I feel your pain reeleyz, there will be lots of walleye seasons but the kids are only little once, I used to bellyache around also, but now my girls are teenagers and I wonder where the time went. Having them involved in sports is a good thing, you won’t regret it one bit, it doesn’t give them time to get into the crap that’s out there. My girls play softball and field hockey, plus they have to interact with others, not like my little nephew, if he isn’t sitting in front of the idiots box playing video game he isn’t happy. Nuff said I don’t want to hyjak the thread.

I’m disabled to a certain degree and wouldn’t feel comfortable taking someone else by myself, but I would be more than willing to share the entire cost with someone who would donate their boat to this cause and work as a mate. That way I would feel more comfortable myself, plus it would help with someone that would love to do this but might be on the fence. About this idea and doing it by themselves also.
-
That would be good idea as far as communication goes also if someone is struggling a phone or radio holler helps a bunch plus makes for a chance to get these guys on fish, not sure how that would be in a derby though.

I completely agree with you there 100% but what doesn’t make sense to me is that they removed docks?? It always was a pita to find a ramp for the early fisherman, I took notice that some of the pics that were posted from the guys fishing browns had smaller boats that could be launched with out a docks. This is just my thought maybe the southern ramps are more fisherman friendly?? It’s not right by any means if you bought a fishing license then they need to accommodate those guys/gals. If the state launches are funded by the Federal government than that answers everything!!! Like mentioned above the Federal government is there with their hands out!!! Sad situation, but that’s the federal government for ya.

We owe these guys for our freedom!! I’m very excited to hear of such a organization, to give these guys a chance to get out there!! This could be a life changing experience for some guys that are having trouble relating to the civilian lifestyle. My family was military, my dad was a Korean War Vet. All my uncles served. I couldn’t make it, because my hearing is bad, when I was a toddler I fell down my grandparents cellar steps and was KOed, as a result my hearing was bad ever since. I failed the hearing test for the Marines, we both were sad it didn’t work out!! My uncles and myself became friends with a guy from home who was in the service, a Vietnam Vet who struggles with society to this day, goes to the V.A. Every Thursday, we took him on his very first fishing trip 10+ years ago, he loved every minute of it. To this day my uncle David and Butch put a trailer over on the paper mill property right on the Oswegotchi river and Butch loves it there. So this is a true blue life changing experience for him, and now he’s part of our family, he told us no one ever gave him a chance to try something other than work, to keep his mind occupied. So I firmly believe in these organizations to prove to these guys there’s things out there that they might enjoy!!!

One thing I always thought about, if you do a complete rebuild like that would the boat hold its width? Like would the middle bow out? Would you need to use straps to hold the with to a certain measurement. I guess if the middle just say 8’ before everything was removed did it hold its own once stripped?? Certainly not knocking your craftsmanship by any means, it always wondered me, if the shell holds its own??
