Wow RD9, now that's fishing, what a nice bag of mixed species makes it interesting IMO. If its walleye and lakers that's my passion.

I love the Navionics chip in my elite 7 hdi, the detail is excellent even our hometown lake is on it and has put walleyes in the boat. Lake Beltzville is a hard lake to fish, walleye are abundant but stubborn fish to catch you need to be a night owl. But with the Navionics chip you can follow the the drop offs and be able to present your baits right in front of them. I really like it!!!

Well said PD Buoy, I've seen so many good people come out of the woodwork to help fellow fisherman and boaters. Like you said its what this site is all about!!!

It sounds like you had a great time and some quality fish and a wonderful bonus a hog walleye, congrats to you on the walleye. I love to walleye fish but any small mouth over 3# pounds I consider a quality catch, got to love the power they have, pound for pound I believe they are an awesome fish to catch. Tight lines to you and have a great 4th of July!!! -
Do a google search on Fords V10 99-2001 spark plug blow outs, that will give you all the info you will need to determine which root you want to take. I have done three of these myself one on my own vehicle, doesn't take long for the word to leak out once you buy the tooling to do your own. I haven't done any in a while since my back issues.

Sounds like a nice morning with constant action and a mix bag of species, always a plus!!! Nice report and have a great 4th.

You can use a thread chaser, just smear grease on the chaser and only go a turn at a time then back it out, I use carb. Cleaner and wash the chaser clean and repeat the process unti finished. It takes time but less than pulling the head.

Chas, don't get your hopes up with them carrying local made stuff. My wife's uncle works in the cabelas at Hamburg PA. We thought the same when they came to PA. Hell they don't even have half the stuff that's in the catalog. I was disappointed twice I went down for Spro swivels as they are the only ones close to here that even know what Spro even is, I went down for Mack's smile blades natta, they have there own agenda, I thought they would carry Blood run, nope. Richard works in the gun dept. and he said they are also feeling the economic impact, and are cutting back on what they carry, at least in this one. Also Cabelas is not cheap, they just have everything, supposably. They only carry a small amount of Michigan Stinger spoons and only a hand full of flashers and spin doc. Pro Troll is the only brand they carry. I hope for your sake its different, but I can go to the mom & pop shops and get the same stuff at the same price and sometimes cheaper. Hell I bet Fat Nancy has more in her store than the whole fishing depot. At Cabelas in Hamburg. Pa. At least with what we are interested in, trolling lakeO, if your into rubber worms and bass fishing maybe it's a different story.

I typed in Mercruiser 485 and it came up as a Big 4" 485/470 lots of info about the motor, not the best motor Mercruiser ever used but a buddy of mine has one in his boat and he likes it. Easy on fuel and a great trolling motor he can get under 1mph with it. I guess it's half of a 460 ford engine with a 428cid head. It seems like either you hate them or love them, I would guess the guys that hate them have the well known over heating problems and something about a cam seal that fails and the low out put alternator they have, then there's my buddy who loves the motor. I know he gets way better fuel mileage than I do with a 350 merc. Good luck with it!!

What do you guys mean by "gill flare" I know out on Erie we hit a may fly hatch and you could watch the walleye swim the surface with their mouths open just gorging themselves with the flys, and the locals told us, it's done for 2 weeks and they were right. You couldn't buy a walleye, we packed it up and headed to PA.

Sounds like our local lake "Beltzville" only thing the bite is any time between 10pm and 2am, I finally got my light bar made today will be wiring it up tomorrow and will adjust the lights out on the lake. Butch who is in partnership with my uncle and I with our camper at the Black River Camp Grounds did the welding that needed to be done. He has a welding shop at home by us. The man is amazing with his ability to fabricate things.

Yankee @ the Oak

I find it very generous of you once you try for the species of fish your clients want to target, with no avail that you pick up and make a run to catch fish and keep the folks happy. I have been on a bunch of charters that if the species we where targeting weren't cooperating we didn't try anything different and went back to port with our heads hanging down. It takes a special captain to do what you do. Congrats to your operation and your clients. PAP.
