  1. Ok thanks that’s basically the same go about around home here in Pa. thanks for the info!!
  2. Man that’s an amazing set up for sure, put all that aside what do you use to bring in the dogs, mouth calls, electronic, what sounds do you favor. Thanks for any help!! PAP.
  3. Up most respect to you bout time!! Good karma always rewards those who have.
  4. Sweet, now there going to put in a trash burner the proper term for (incinerator) makes for air pollution which will fall into the lake and surrounding properties. Where are remnants of the trash going? Or is it that hot there’s nothing left. In order to keep this unit going there going to bring in trash from NY. city, soon you’ll see Jersey trucks, Pa. trucks. Just like the company Grand Central Sanitation, that’s in our back yard so to speak. We get garbage haulers from all different states, but what’s really nice is when those Jersey trucks bring in the medical waste with the red hazardous materials in it. People don’t understand why there is so much cancer patients in this area?? This is off the cuff, but this really pi$$es me off. As a home owner we need to put a septic system in Ok, now this cost me over $10,000 to do now 7 years later we need to get it pumped out, so I call a $hit pumper he comes, charges me $169.00 now this is what gets me, this guy mixes lime into it supposedly and spreads this out over farm fields and it’s legal?? WTF your kidding me, what happens when these fields become saturated and the $hit finds it’s way into the water table, which it has done already. These types of things just blow my mind I guess when it’s a multi million dollar a year project the higher up put their blinders on and as long as the palm gets greased things continue no matter what the locals are dying from?? That’s whats going to happen up there also!! Sad.
  5. That is a sweet looking job, accented in red that is a beautiful job!! I just had to look at it in full screen!! Awesome, that makes the whole boat sometimes!!
  6. It’s the same rules in Pa. I’d still be drunk if I ever had a banner day like yours. Maybe some competition for Whalers son and himself those guys put the smack down on yotes in a years time, that’s a fact!! Pics. don’t bullshyt
  7. XX2 means I second the above poster, most all the guys get their canvas work done by someone who does this for a living, there’s more guys out there doing this than one might think. These guys build your pole structure to your boat and manufacture the canvas work to the frame work that you and the person or persons agreed to. Usually a new boat comes with the factory canvas. Buy the time your boat needs new one they have either discontinued your canvas style and or don’t want to be bothered. I tried to get a factory canvas for my Sea Ray, all I needed was the top, forget about it. This year when I come up to NY. I’m going to have the top and windows replaced. They even have guys that do it on site also.
  8. Freaken AWESOME!!! Great vids also!! Thanks for sharing.
  9. Ha ha, I think I got you and Mike mixed up before. Sorry my bad. LOL no wonder I didn’t see his dad and bro.
  10. Yea that’s something to think about Todd, You guys have been pounded already, with the ice cold just beginning, like you mentioned!! I certainly don’t want to see the NY. State folks go through what they did last year for sure, but it make for a epic walleye fishing year. The work it createsf or both the homeowners, which is just a added expense, and the snow removal folks is a added income so it’s good for some and just a pain in the a$$ for others, let’s not forget the wildlife. I remember back in 96 I bought a brand new snowmobile and it didn’t snow a flake around home, so we loaded them up and we stayed in Oswego in those cabin looking rentals to the right of Fat Nancy’s where on the trails we saw the wildlife management was putting out bales of alfalfa and we talked to the guys that were doing this they said to be very careful as some guys were injured by hitting a deer on the trails. The trails were the only way they could move, I jumped off the trails and I was up to my waist in snow. I have pics somewhere I’ll have to dig them out. Hard on the wildlife for sure, I said no wonder the deer are so big up here they need to be to survive the nasty a$$ winters up here!! Time will tell. Erie is getting pounded also so it’s going on all over the LakeO area. Will be interesting to see the outcome???
  11. That was to freaken cool guys what a great gift from Santa!!
  12. You and your family have the Merriest Christmas Ever Laker!! And even a more prosperous New Year!!! We will keep Ella in our prayers for a happy and healthy 2018..
  13. Yes I have to agree DJ!! Looks like the big man in the heavens is shining his blessings on this situation and for John to count his blessings for a shot at this magnificent buck and for the food it will make for his family!!! Really a neat photo!!
  14. I’d much rather be there the last 2-3hrs when the vender don’t want to load their stuff up and take it home, this time is the best time to make deals with the venders, it’s like Christmas all over again!!
  15. Cool thread Longspurs!! Very interesting, I only ever hunted ducks wading upstream in what they call the Pine Swamp with my cousins it was fun in the early season but scary and dangerous in the second season, there are holes that if you weren’t familiar with the stream which is wide and you needed at least 3guys 4 were better then you didn’t have to get out of the water and look for the duck. But we used to rotate so the guys in the water could get out and the others could get nice and cool. You had to wait till the ducks got high enough to clear the high brush along the edge of the stream if you didn’t the ducks fell into the red brush and they either bit fast to sticks far under the water from the red brush or you simply couldn’t find it. So we made a rule if you shot a duck that fell into the brush you lost 2 rounds of hunting from the stream. Congrats to your hunts and sharing them with us PAP.
  16. I’m with ya there also, but the reality of it happening to stay in a liquid state is pretty much out the window!! Not like last year where you guys were trolling browns in February
  17. I have older mag 10’s max weight is supposed to be 12#’s been lifting the 10# torps for years and the later season eyes I’ve used the 13# torps. But not near as much use of the riggers with the 13’s. I wouldn’t suggest yanking them from the depths of laker land with mag 10’s. I’m now in the process of getting my Lake Masters wired up and back into service. I have mag 20’s also but I just can’t get use to this slow delay into high speed up or down. The Lake Masters are like my older Cannons speed up and down with the strength of a mag 20 or close to it. A perfect situation if all goes well. Best of luck to you!!! If he doesn’t have any on stock, you might have to wait till spring as his melting process is outdoors. This happened to me a few years ago. He might have some in stock as he has a spot in the fishing expo in March near Lake Seneca. If you go to that call to make sure he has them first, pick them up at the show. Just a thought??
  18. HHMM this gets more interesting as time goes on. I really hope it’s not a on going thing.
  19. That’s the ticket right there, let the 2 1/2 walk and you will have deer pushing 140+, you have a great system going on your farm!!! Just all the more proof that it does work, but you need everyone one the same page. I went with my brother on his last trip to Wisconsin to a farm they leased, I’ll be honest hunting in Pa. all my life you don’t realize how big a 140” buck is. Hell I wanted to shoot everyone I saw they were all huge. I ended up shooting a horse of a doe, which I was happier than a clam, it was the biggest bodied deer I ever shot. My brother shot a big guy, that was his last trip. He passed from cancer the following month in a half That was 2 1/2 years ago.
  20. Yes indeed, it’s been one hell of a bumpy end to the 2017 year, have The Merriest Christmas ever and a stress free New Year To all of our families and friends. Best of wishes for 2018
  21. I wish you a long and healthy retirement!! Get out and do things with family and friends. Will mis your write ups about fishing and conditions. I’m sure the person filling your spot will do well.
  22. I haven’t ice fished since my last trip to Quinte, where I nearly froze to death and never even had a bite. After realizing that we got scammed. 15 years ago I’m ready to give it a try again. A couple of guys on here are going to take me under their wing, and with my uncles insulated ice hut and real chairs not a upside down 5 gallon bucket I’m actually pumped about going. The single digits and or -0 temps should lock things up pretty quick!!!
  23. Troutman on here has the 13# torpedo weights that track about as good as your gonna find. BikiniBottom weights run well also, I think someone either Shark or Bikini have 16#ers if need be. I fish eyes and Troutmans 13# torps is more than sufficient for me, those chasing big Crome might have to get into the heavier weights, I know a few charters that pull that heavy lead, to be successful at times that’s what it takes.
  24. Nice catch Mike, congrats to your win!! Where’s dad & bro?
