Sold / Closed Precision Trolling - The Troller Bible "Pro Edition"

Fishnut your absolutely right, and what did our fathers do?? They caught fish, that’s for sure!! They were $29 bucks all day long directly from Mark Romanack’s website. I actually got to talk to Mark for quite a while, I personally don’t see the get rich quick theory off these books. Most all the newer lures have a dive curve and the dipsies have a detailed depth chart on the back. It’s still nice to page through and pinpoint your lure to a certain depth at a certain set back. -

Years ago in the Flintlock season here in Pa. for the longest time the law read you “must” use round ball ammunition. I quit hunting the Flintlock season because those round balls just poked a hole in one side, if you were lucky enough to get a pass through shot you could follow a blood trail, but many, if no snow died without having a blood trail, my brother and I bought our own mold and found ourselves scuba diver weights, really soft lead, that made a huge difference, but little did we know we were slowly ruining our barrels, the lead started to fill in the rifling in the barrel. We took the barrels to a gunsmith who thought they could cook the lead out, but failed, so we ended up ordering Green Mountain barrels and started shooting sabot bullets, soon after the Pa game commission wised up and made it legal to use a projectile that was suitable to the rifle, because the bullets were traveling much slower than a muzzle loader most were made with softer lead and being a sabot it didn’t affect the rifling and many more deer were harvested and not coyote bait. I would either change bullet manufacturer to one without a copper jacket, or move up to 150 grains of powder. I know with a 150 grains of powder in my muzzy and that gun kills on both ends but gets the job done.

Worse case scenario, you could always purchase a small generator like a 1000 watt one. They are handy when camping can run lights and electronics ect. We have one I used to use on my boat for fishing all night to keep batteries up while trolling with a older 2 stroke kicker. Just a thought.

Man that sucks!! Just a few more yards to a recovery of a double lung shot.. that’s got to turn your guts into a knot!! Sad feel bad for ya Bud!!! On a brighter note, maybe it was ment to be, first off you don’t really want to eat the meat if it was green from infections, plus those damn dogs eating the azz out, seems like when ever a deer lays overnight. Did you keep the horns?? Sorry to hear your sad story. The biggest buck I ever shot went to pull the hide off and the yellow/green smear ran out all I got was the head mounted. Arrow in the ass, buck shot pellets and a 223 pill lodged between the front blades. So ya I feel for ya!!

Diesel marine fuel availability on the eastern end ?
Xxx replied to Sutton44's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Get in touch with gene from Sunken Treasures his boat is a diesel you have a pm. -
We always fished the western end of Erie in the spring, then like the Port Clinton area the 2nd-3rd week of June. I never fished the eastern basin, and was told by at least 3-4 members on here that after the 4th of July is the better fishing in the eastern basin. There are fish to be caught in the eastern basin as there are resident fish as there are resident fish in LakeO.

Walleye fishing in the province of Quebec
Xxx replied to Andre wallyandre's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Wallyandre when we first started going up to that area, Clova road was a mess to say the least, we used this guy Named Mike, he was a over the road trucker that had flying under his belt also. He sold his rig and bought a 1952 De Havilland beaver and Ted hooked us up with him, and we flew with him 4 times till one year it was foggy and wasn’t supposed to lift all day, so that’s when we decided to drive in, 115 miles of dirt road and 15 miles off Clova into LakeO’Sullivan, which took 3hrs in 4wheel drive and guys walking through the water to check how deep it is from the beavers, over rocks as big as my house, the tires hollering on the rock as it’s just about the limit of what a full size pickup could handle. We still talk about the first guys to ever drive into lake O’Sullivan. The owners couldn’t believe we did it. They said it takes over 3hrs with a Duce & half, from that trip on we drove in every trip. -
Walleye fishing in the province of Quebec
Xxx replied to Andre wallyandre's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Yes we do have excellent fishing here in the states, but honestly I’ve never experienced that Canadian style type walleye fishing. I’ve always gone fishing to Canada since I was a little shyt, I’ve had the closest experience on Lake Erie. Yes we limited out by 11:am but there’s something about being back in the sticks, no radio, no tv. Just the group of guys that came with you. Just wild wilderness everywhere, see moose swimming across the lake. I do miss those trips but I must look like a gangster to the border police. Maybe I’ll give it a shot one day, but all the guys I went with are up in age now. It’s hard to find hard core fishermen anymore, meaning younger gen. That would appreciate the quietness and solitude you get in a trip like this. -
Thanks for the heads up positive note on Dicks reel repair!!PAP!!

Thanks looks pretty straight forward what I’m looking for, I don’t put hundreds of hrs. In on the water, and I don’t have time to be reading a piss poor directions to get me out of a unit glitch, so I can fish the rest of my day!! Thanks again, PAP.

Yea Les I saw those bag like set ups, I was liking that idea, it’s really not a problem to manufacture something for the transducer. I have these ice screws they turn right into the ice, the have aggressive threads I could fasten a spring clamp like mentioned above to hold the ducer in place and light to the edge of the hole, but I’m going to look into a ice ducer see what they have to offer.

Walleye fishing in the province of Quebec
Xxx replied to Andre wallyandre's topic in Open Lake Discussion
My family and I have been fishing Canada for at least 30 years and we always fished Quebec, and until you experience a Canadian walleye trip there's no way to explain the amount of eyes you can catch a day. Which is more that one can imagine!! I've fished a lake just above Maniwaki? Lake Bitobi? Then we flew into a lake that we fished 15-20 years straight called Lake O'Sullivan. It was leased by an American named Ted Barklow, now it's owned by a Frenchman, I think his name is Mike. We put many miles on Clova road. We fished Mary's lake excellent eye fishing and we fished the Gouin Res. Which is huge we didn't cover 1/10 of that body of water. Another lake we fished and this lake was truly amazing, because the walleyes hit all day long. Not like most others where the evening bite was insane fishing for a 2-3hr period of time. All but the first place I would recommend, unless you want to catch huge sturgen in the Gatinea? River, but I don't know the Canadian rules anymore. Crossing the border has sure changed things and has kept us in the states after 3 different times getting tore down at the border causing us to not make our stay overnight place, losing our deposit a end up sleeping in the truck for a few hrs till we decided to carry on. Even the outfitters were mad. I mean we always took 2-3 trucks so if one had a problem the others were able to get help. We never got fined for anything, U.S. men most served their country, clean cut. We actually got put into a interrogation room 1x1 and asked if we ever had a dui ever smuggled cigarettes into this country, I got asked if I was selling 30-06 ammunition to a outfitter I never heard of. Finally I had enough of this guys shyt!! I said do you have anything to arrest me on, no he said, so I told the police man, either I can go back across the bridge or I can continue to bring close to $10,000 into your country like we've been doing for the last 20 years. Then they left us go. What we spent hrs. doing Friday night we can do all over because they took everything off our trucks, we had to pack it all back on by ourselves. That made for 10 mad men. That's just one incident how many others did they do that to. This was before 911. I love to fish Canada there's no place on this continent that you can catch eyes like Canada, but when you have a truck load of silver haired guys in I doubt their bringing drugs or bombs across the bridge. -
Thank you very much Wallyandre!! I’d really appreciate that?? As I’m chomping at the bit for this new unit, something with a lot of potential at a price that won’t cause my blood pressure to go off the chart!!! Pap
