Go figure at the site in the rifle works perfect, put a deer in front of the barrel and “Click” I can’t tell you how many times that happened to me in the Pa. Flintlock season. Take the gun to my bench to fire it off to see why the failure and KABOOM at that point I’m ready to wrap that F’n gun around a tree. So I took it to strictly Flintlock shop, WOW what a difference that made. I have a Lyman corn stalker, I also put a Green Mountain barrel on to shoot sabots. I feel your pain!!

Thanks Wallyandre!! That’s going to be my new unit for my boat!!! I’m really excited about this unit,, but a little nervous at the same time. I’m not the happiest person with there last wet dream the Elite series, but I think they put this out there due to the ease of most other units out there. So if Lowrance screws as many guys with this unit as they did with the elite series, they might as well close the doors.

Hey I hear ya!! I have a few reels bought used, I’m going to be putting into action for my walleye spread, so if there’s any glitches with them away they will go. One thing I wanted to say also, is I started out with Cabela’s brand line counters, and I sent them out to Tuna Tom and they came back a lot better of a reel, there drags suck, but now they are almost as smooth as the rest of the reels in the $70-109 range reels. Now they still have their glitches as all reels do. They run way smoother and the drags are great. Some of the smaller reels only have like 10-12#’s of drag now I checked them on my digital fish scale and they all have about 18#’s of drag and the dm 30’s and the dm 45 has 20 pounds of drag and before they had 17#’s of drag. They advertise 18 pounds but that’s getting to nit-picking for me.

Guys I’m in the process of getting a depth finder for ice fishing ready, I was wondering why I couldn’t use the transducer from the unit, I have a helix 5 I saw on some utube vids they mounted the transducer to a piece if 1x 2 wood weighted the wood to sink, then cut a piece of swim noodle so it floats upright, then you could use reg sonar or downscan ect. What I want to know is what does the iceducer differently than the open water transducer??

Absolutely, you will see ever type of fishing, boating apparatus ever known to man. This show is the Super Bowl of boating/fishing, it takes me every bit of 5hrs to get there. If you really want bargains be there the last few hrs.of the show when the venders have to pack up what they didn’t sell, you can really find bargains as the venders really don’t want to load up that stuff and haul it back to their store.

Man if this would have come up 5-6 months ago I would have bought that unit right up, but same as you I have a different approach of some units up my sleeve for the 2018 season. My cousin is retiring from the Air Force and being a Captain of a Destroyer he showed lots of interest in these toy as he calls them. I told him I don’t want to destroy the fish I just want to see the bottom. best to you with your sale PAP -
There used to be a guy on here that mentioned he does reel repair also other than (Tuna Tom excellent service) would like to give this other man a shot. If anyone has this fellows number or name sure would appreciate that!!

Yea it was a bitter sweet season for us in Pa. Wish we had a muzzleloader season, our is a Flintlock season, and bow season opens up Christmas Day and goes for 3 weeks. I think?? I shot quite a few deer with the flintstone gun, you can’t beat these newer muzzleloaders. It’s basically a single shot 40-50 caliber rifle!! To all that put a tag on Congrats to you and the rest of us hold your head high!!! It ain’t over till the fat lady sings

I use them and walleye is my passion, they work just fine. Almost every reel I own came second hand other than a few Okuma’s I bought new in the box at used prices. If they don’t meet my expectations I send them to Tuna Tom and he tunes them up with new drag washers and what ever it takes. Those reels when they come back are like brand new, and I’m still ahead of the price of the new ones

Sold / Closed ATN Night Vision Scope $250
Xxx replied to Todd in NY's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Thanks buddy that’s good to know, I want to mount this scope on either my 22-250 which is a Remington or what most guys around here use that don’t care about the pelts a 25/06 which I have in a Ruger heavy barrel, we always go with a rifle and a shot gun. I shoot that dead coyote load, I’ve shot them out to 75 yards with the choke tube they recommend I don’t remember the name. Thanks again!! Mike
