  1. Yes I 100% agree with rick and I have a few of the collapsible rod in the 8’6” range and was thinking about getting 4 of the longer one either in the 9-10’ length. They have 2 different price ranges.
  2. Yep find the pack and fish the outside, that’s how we did it in Port Clinton. We came late and left early, with a 4 man ticket!!!
  3. I don’t fish the fingers but I think 6-10# eyes would fall in the same criteria? I use the Okuma classic poles and I like Diawia in the 27 series, they fit a pile of 30# PP with 50ft Seagar Fluor in the red box as a leader. I use this same set up for early browns and from there they are my go to set ups for in lines. Hope this helps ya so yer at $27-39 for rods and I think new the reels are $109. I really like their drags, but I will say there isn’t 1 reel that is more than 2-4 years old and I have a fewthat Tuna Tom hasn’t gone over which makes one hell of a difference!! He is worth every penny,!!
  4. Yea ok thanks!!
  5. I would have to there are so many options out there, I would go with what you feel comfortable spending, the price range your in might only buy you 1/2 a pole and 1/4 of a reel to some and others would have enough left over to fill their truck. Also what specie are you going after means a lot also, so let’s start there, then maybe others will chime in!!
  6. Is this the same place and time were there will be venders and the other fish in Lake Ontario walleye seminars are held but not so long of a time???
  7. OOHH Yea, those will produce, like mentioned on a slider, or a small board in close to shore with a split shot just to keep them under the first 5ft of water.
  8. It looks like someone put the smack down one the front blade, a little front though, but congrats to you multi effort hunt!! Really like your deer cart
  9. Man all I can say is WOW you guys are a perfect example of what either is the best hunting ethics a great bunch of guys can have or a combo of horn restrictions and great hunting ethics? You guys kill some monster bucks. I just can’t believe everyone waits to kill a 2 1/2 year old or better, but the horns don’t lie. Here in Pa. don’t get me wrong there are some nice bucks killed but I know 80% are archery hunters hunting the outskirts of development deer.points per side sure helped, but a 1 1/2 year old with a 14” spread would be a brute of a buck in another year but I would be willing to wager a $100.00 that deer won’t make it through the first day of the rifle season. Years ago when we all knew who owned what and all the gangs hunters respected each other’s turf they hunted, we did shoot nice deer!! Now the family members own or sold the farms off all the old guys are gone and it’s mostly meat hunters around here, with the attitude, well if I don’t shoot that “legal” buck someone else will!!?? Great thread guys, I guess one could say I’m a little disappointed, cause with guys like the meatheads around here it’s a no wonder the guys my.age lease land in Ohio or land south and west of here. Congrats fellas and ladies.
  10. WOW dude, did she ever give you a nice gift!! I mainly fish for walleye and the 2-1/4” spoons for eye or browns ect. You can long line them but I mostly run them off the boards for shallow I use a 1/4oz split shot a rods length away from the spoon. For 10-15ft I use snap weights and for deeper I’ll use the tadpole systems which really work nice from a number 1 to the number 4 in the tadpoles. Or like mentioned above run them off the riggers. They will produce!!!
  11. Great praise for your father Fishnut's, my dad was my best freind also. We did everything together, to me he was a freind more than my dad, like yours he was one of the best fisherman I know. Before he and my uncle bought property on the Perch River we stream fished a lot, I wish I had a $1.00 for every trout that got reeled in past my legs, between my legs using the same fly or streamers!! LOL then we bought a boat together he caught more fish!! Even before the invasive species got into the lake he fished with what I called ridiculous amount of line out, then one day trolling for walleye he got his favorite lure stuck and was bytching about having to lose it, so I told I'll back up to it just keep your line tight so I can see it. Well I backed and backed I said how much F'n line do you have out a lot when finally this huge smallie jumps out of the water a ways back. He had so much line out that the stretch in the mono made it feel like he was stuck. His fish was over 6#'s and to this day none of us caught a 6#+ smallie, close but never over 6#. My father was 74 when he got sick and passed away with a horrible ending at the age 75 my daughters were only 2 years old so they don't remember him. Sadly but have pics of him holding his only grandchildren!! Nice to hear stories of guys taking their fathers fishing as they took us fishing!! Nice post!!
  12. I did get a text back from him yesterday stating he will be up and operating come spring.
  13. Awesome trip guys!!! great act on your end to take dad fishing!! sure miss that on my end, nice looking fish also!!!
  14. Nice hunt Kevin!!
  15. Could very well be, I've never even thought about selling fish gear for a profit after I used it. One thing my dad told me as young man is anything that has tires or tits will cost you more money than it worth and so far he's 100% right
  16. AWWW man you sure went through a lot just to post this stuff, with no payment arrangements, could of done money orders or checks held them till they cleared, maybe not enough time for that, you could of went Fishnut's way and sold the deal lock, stock, and barrel?? All of guys waited patiently for this. Well maybe next time good luck with your move...
  17. Your most welcome!!! Everyone one needs a break like this purchase!! I say hats off to the both of you!! I will and can say with confidence that 90% of all my purchases have come from this very site, there's no way in he|| I'd be able to afford what I have both in boat wise arsenal and fishing arsenal if it weren't for the generous sales on this site. For instance I know this guy that can't afford to keep his camper, lot rent went up due to new owners, called me up cause he's selling off some of his gear. He wants as much if not more than you can buy at the store. I told him you'll never get what your asking. He got pizzed off at me so I got on my phone and went into the sales area and showed him the prices!! He told me they'll rust to nothing before I let them go for that price. I said well you can't eat stinger spoons either this winter and got in my truck.
  18. Just need a size for starts, interested in the jacket. Oops didn't know you were still in the process of posting yet. Sorry!!
  19. Yea that's definitely a snooze you lose price right there Todd!! congrats to your purchase!!!
  20. One more time Nick!!??
  21. Ha ha, for every fish I catch I’m probably damn near $700 an once really don’t know if that covers it!!!
  22. Holy moly a cut in creel limit we are at three now. If anything something should be done with the ice fisherman creel limits. But then again for some that is the only way to get out that far and they live for the ice. I guess until it becomes a noticeable problem let it status quo!!
  23. I believe it might be $750.00 cash a pair?????
  24. A little bump here to the top
  25. Does anyone know what happened to Nick Hybrid lures he’s done a lot of work for me over the years, but I can’t seem to get a hold of him?? His mail box is full. Won’t answer his phone I left multiple text messages to no avail, if anyone knows what happened to Nick I’d like to know, not being nosy just worried more less. Don’t understand why someone of his caliber could just disappear?? Any help would be would appreciate!! Pap concerned!!!
